Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce

Gotta admit, the male masseurs at this spa were no match for the man in front of her.

Walker Grant’s features were sculpted, his brow deep-set. His long, narrow eyes were dark and captivating. His short hair was casually tousled, lending him an air of effortless charm. Tall and long-legged, he radiated a noble, cold arrogance. His looks were, in a word, exquisite.

Iris Yates couldn’t help but say to Chloe Reed, ”There’s really no comparison.”

Chloe Reed frowned at him. ”Are you following me?”

”Come on, now!”

Just then, Nathaniel Monroe, who had been standing behind Walker Grant, came forward with a cheeky grin. ”I saw you arrive, so I told Walker. You two are so lovey-dovey, how could you let someone else give you a foot massage? I bet Walker’s technique is pretty great, too. Right, Walker?”

He nudged Walker Grant with his elbow.

Iris Yates immediately scoffed. ”He knows how to give a foot massage? You’ve got to be kidding.”

Nathaniel Monroe glanced at her. ’Why is she always in the middle of things?’

A glint flashed in his eyes. He walked right over and grabbed her ankle. ”Here we go. It’s not just Walker who can do it—I can, too. Tonight, I’ll show you just how it’s done. It’s not hard at all.”

”Hey, what are you doing? Let me go!” Iris Yates cried out, but Nathaniel Monroe held her ankle fast and plunged her foot right into the hot water.

Nathaniel Monroe held her still, preventing her from squirming away, and said with a grin, ”How about that? The temperature’s just right, isn’t it? You should count yourself lucky. I’ve never given anyone a foot massage before. You’re the first.”

Iris Yates desperately wanted to kick him, but his grip was too tight, so she gave up.

The next thing she knew, he was behind her, massaging her shoulders. ”Hey, beautiful. Is the pressure all right?”

Iris Yates: ”...”

Meanwhile.

Walker Grant tossed his suit jacket aside and took a few steps forward, closing in on her. ”Not feeling well? Here for a massage? How about I do it for you?”

Chloe Reed’s expression was tense. ”No, thank you. I want one of the professional masseurs.”

”No masseur can do a better job than me.” Without waiting for an answer, Walker Grant grabbed her foot and pushed it into the hot water.

He had already tested the water. It was just the temperature she liked.

The light in the private room was dim, shrouding his handsome face in shadows and making his expression impossible to read.

Chloe Reed tried to pull her foot back, but he looked up at her. ”Behave,” he said. ”Let me do it. Otherwise, you’re not to come to a place like this again.”

Chloe Reed’s eyes widened slightly. ”Are you threatening me?”

”I’m doing this for your own good.” Walker Grant began to knead her calf with slow, deliberate motions. ”Those masseurs’ hands... they’ve touched who knows how many other women’s feet. Doesn’t that disgust you?”

Chloe Reed frowned. ”They wash their hands.”

But Walker Grant just chuckled softly. ”That doesn’t matter. You’re my wife. I can’t stand seeing another man touch you.”

Chloe Reed’s expression turned cold, and she stared right at him. ”Aren’t you exhausted? Going back and forth between Sunny Reed and me. Since you can’t seem to let her go, why don’t you just go be with her?”

The moment the words left her mouth, he pressed a pressure point on her calf, hard. The sudden pain made her suck in a sharp breath.

”Walker Grant, let go!”

”So now you feel the pain?” Walker Grant began to gently massage the spot again, his dark eyes growing exceptionally bleak. ”Every time you say that, I feel the same pain you do.”

Chloe Reed scoffed. ”Who are you trying to fool? Take a look at your words and then look at your actions. Do they match up at all?”

Walker Grant lowered his gaze, dried her foot, and said slowly, ”I’ll visit Noah less often from now on. But he’s my brother’s child, after all. I can’t just stop seeing him completely. From now on, though, I’ll take you with me every time I go. Okay?”
