Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce

Chloe Reed’s fingers tightened. Her voice was hoarse as she asked, ”Were you able to find out who requested her?”

”That’s another reason I’m so mad! My friend said it was someone named Grant—your scumbag husband!” Iris Yates said, fuming. ”Isn’t she always trying to get that jerk’s attention? Why does she have to steal your role too? She steals everything you do. If you were going to eat shit, would she rush over to taste it first to see if it’s salty?”

Chloe Reed forced a stiff smile. ”I wouldn’t eat it.”

Iris Yates: ”...It was just an example! I’m just so pissed off. You shouldn’t have stopped me that day. I should’ve just ripped her face to shreds!”

Chloe Reed closed her eyes and slowly sank into the sofa. ”They’re being so blatant about it now. So why won’t he agree to a divorce?”

Iris Yates frowned too. ”Yeah, why not get a divorce? If he cares so much about that bitch, wouldn’t he want to make it official with her?”

Her new life was supposed to be starting, but the role she had secured was snatched away—and it was Walker Grant himself who had helped Sunny Reed take it from her.

’By what right!’

’How could he bully her like this!’

’She couldn’t take it anymore!’

Chloe Reed shot to her feet and stormed out.

Iris Yates quickly asked, ”Chloe, where are you going?”

”To the hospital.” Chloe Reed’s expression was cold. ”I’m going to ask him what the hell he thinks he’s doing!”

The rims of her eyes were red, but she forced her emotions down.

Iris Yates said, ”I’ll go with you. I’ll help you scratch him!”

But just as she finished speaking, her phone rang. She picked it up. ”Hello? Mom, what’s wrong?”

It was unclear what was said on the other end, but her expression changed. ”Okay, I’m coming home now.”

She turned to Chloe Reed, her face full of apology. ”I can’t go with you. Something’s come up at home. I have to go back.”

Chloe Reed nodded. ”Okay. We’ll stay in touch.”

”Okay.”

”...”

「Chloe Reed went straight to the hospital.」

Standing at the door to his room, she saw Sunny Reed peeling an apple for Walker Grant. A faint smile hung on Sunny’s lips. Walker’s expression was indifferent, but his posture was relaxed.

’What a heartwarming scene.’

’It’s blinding.’

BANG!

Chloe Reed kicked the hospital room door open.

The two people inside jumped in fright and looked toward the door.

Seeing who it was, Sunny Reed’s eyes flickered. She stood up and said, ”Sister, you’re finally here. Walker has been waiting for you. He was just telling me how he wondered why you hadn’t come to see him yet.”

Walker Grant didn’t speak, but his dark, phoenix-like eyes lit up.

Chloe Reed walked in, step by step. Her clear, watery eyes were fixed on Walker Grant, but she walked right up to Sunny Reed.

Her arrival shattered the room’s cozy atmosphere, and the air seemed to freeze.

”Aren’t you supposed to be seriously injured?” she began, her tone tinged with mockery. ”How do you still have the energy to find a job for her?”

Hearing this, Walker Grant’s handsome, long eyebrows knitted together. ”What are you talking about?”

”Stop pretending!” Chloe Reed struggled to suppress her emotions. ”If you did it, just own up to it! Aren’t you tired of being so two-faced?”

Walker Grant’s brows furrowed even tighter. ”Chloe, I don’t understand what you’re saying. Has there been some misunderstanding?”

At their side, Sunny Reed’s eyes flickered again. She took a step forward. ”Sister, could there be a misunderstanding here? Walker has only just recovered a little. Don’t be so aggressive. Be a little gentler.”

Chloe Reed raised her hand to slap her, but her wrist was caught.

”Chloe Reed, why are you hitting her again? What the hell is wrong with you?” came Walker Grant’s icy voice.
