The Delicate Darling with Her Rough Man

Chapter 310: Chapter 306: Business Opportunity

Xu Wenwan wasn’t lying; she really did know how to make facial soap.

And it was all thanks to Gu Jiaojiao.

Gu Jiaojiao had learned the art of making facial soap from somewhere, started her own company and factory, and earned a lot of money.

When Xu Wenwan saw this, she was filled with jealousy.

She felt she was no worse than Gu Jiaojiao. If Gu Jiaojiao could open a company, so could she.

If Gu Jiaojiao could develop good skincare products, so could she.

With her uncle’s help, her family had bought a duplex apartment in the city center, and her father worked at her uncle’s company, earning more than ten thousand yuan a month.

Her family had savings, too.

Xu Wenwan asked her parents for money, went to a training institute, and studied skincare product development techniques.

Later, she also established her own company.

But unlike Gu Jiaojiao, she didn’t make money.

Two months after her company opened, having invested several hundred thousand yuan, she launched a hydrating skincare set.

The formula had been given to her by the instructor who taught her about skincare.

The instructor claimed she had developed it herself.

Xu Wenwan ended up paying to buy out the rights to it completely.

After the launch, determined to compete with Gu Jiaojiao, she hired a celebrity for advertisements and promoted it heavily. On the very first day, she sold several thousand sets.

This made Xu Wenwan see a huge business opportunity.

She then had the factory rush production.

Once she started making money, she planned to be just like Gu Jiaojiao: buy her own factory, open branch stores, and launch more products.

Ideally, she would even expand internationally.

But just as the second batch of skincare products was manufactured, before it could even hit the market, she was sued.

The charge was theft of trade secrets.

Xu Wenwan was completely dumbfounded, but she had enough sense to immediately hire a lawyer to fight the case.

After understanding the situation, the lawyer refused the case outright.

There was no point in even fighting it.

Xu Wenwan had been scammed. The instructor who taught her had given her a formula from another brand. Her using it directly did, in fact, constitute theft of trade secrets.

If she took it to court, it would be a surefire loss.

The lawyer advised her to settle it privately.

Only then did Xu Wenwan realize she’d been tricked. The other party was a major brand, a large corporation, and she truly panicked. In the end, she settled privately, compensating the other party with her company and the skincare products.

It amounted to a direct loss of several hundred thousand yuan.

At the time, Xu Wenwan cried for days.

It wasn’t because she’d been scammed or because she’d lost money, but because she couldn’t understand how Gu Jiaojiao could be so much luckier than her. It just wasn’t fair.

She was crying out of sheer jealousy.

Before, Xu Wenwan would get furious just thinking about this incident.

Now, however, she was incredibly grateful to her past self for being so eager to learn.

’If I can make facial soap, maybe I can make some money too.’

When the two men heard that Xu Wenwan could make facial soap, their attitudes changed instantly, becoming remarkably friendly.

”You’re not kidding us, right? You can really make it?”

”This facial soap sells extremely well on the black market, and it’s very expensive—one yuan a bar! You’d better not be bluffing.”

One yuan a bar?

Xu Wenwan’s eyes widened in shock.

’A worker’s monthly salary is only a dozen or so yuan right now, but a single bar of this soap sells for one yuan. This is an incredible way to make money!’

Besides, it wasn’t even difficult to make.

The raw materials were also very simple.

Xu Wenwan glanced at the two men, realizing this was a viable plan to get rich.

However, she still hadn’t gotten the answer she wanted.

”First, you tell me where this stuff comes from. Then, I’ll let you see the facial soap I can make.”

Seeing how curious Xu Wenwan was, the two men exchanged a look before one of them slowly spoke.

”Talk is cheap. If you really want to know where this facial soap comes from, then make some and show us. Once you do, I’ll tell you where I got the soap I have in my hand!”
