Chapter 403: Kyogre and Groudon (Part 1)

” Where exactly are we? ”

May asked, hugging a piece of driftwood.

” We seem to have flown a bit too far; I am completely lost, ” Brock lamented.

Latias realized she might have used too much force and hurriedly apologized via telepathy: ” I’m sorry! ”

” It’s okay. Although there was a slight accident, you won’t feel disappointed for long. ”

Ash sensed the Team Magma submarine surfacing right beneath their feet, and he also sensed the Team Magma base.

If he remembered correctly, the technology level of the Team Magma base was quite high, and it was even capable of imprisoning Kyogre.

However, judging by that Kyogre’s performance, it shouldn’t be a Kyogre possessing a divine office, and the same went for that Groudon.

” Ash, what did you sense again? ” May asked suspiciously.

The next second, a huge upward force came from below.

” Ah... ”

” What happened this time? ”

This sudden change gave May a big fright.

As the seawater receded, a red submarine appeared beneath everyone’s feet.

Brock exclaimed: ” This is... a submarine?! ”

” A submarine? Then let’s hurry and ask the owner for help! ” May suggested.

” Ask for help? ” Ash paused, then smiled and concluded: ” To tell you the truth, this is a Team Magma submarine. ”

” Team Magma? ”

May and Brock’s expressions stiffened.

” Why is it their submarine? ”

” Our luck is really bad, ” May sighed.

” Don’t worry. Team Magma can’t do anything to us. By the way, do you want to see the legendary Kyogre and Groudon? ” Ash asked.

” Kyogre? ”

” Groudon? ”

The two muttered these names. May seemed to have thought of something and asked hurriedly: ” Ash, are you saying that Team Magma has already captured these two Pokemon? ”

Ash shook his head. ” No, they only captured Kyogre. ”

” Uh... Aren’t they pursuing Groudon? Why did they capture Team Aqua’s target? ” Brock said, speechless.

” Heaven knows. Anyway, let’s hitch a ride on the submarine and go check out their base. ”

Ash scanned the interior of the submarine with his Aura, then wrapped the others with his Psychic power and teleported directly into the submarine.

After finding suitable Team Magma uniforms inside the submarine and changing into them, Ash led them to find Lance to ask about the situation.

Following the guidance of his Aura, they soon found Lance collecting evidence in a warehouse.

Ash reached out and tapped Lance on the shoulder, greeting him: ” Lance, long time no see! ”

Lance was startled by Ash’s touch and voice, his hand instinctively reaching toward his waist to pull out Dragonite. But after seeing the faces of Ash and the others, he let out a long sigh of relief. ” Damn, Ash, can you stop playing like that? You almost scared me to death! ”

Ash chuckled: ” Next time, for sure. ”

Lance looked at the fake smile on Ash’s face, his expression darkened slightly, and he changed the subject: ” Why are you here? ”

” Well... we had an accident while on a boat. But your appearance is truly shocking, Lance. You’re doing undercover work all the way in the Hoenn region? Aren’t you afraid of Steven causing you trouble? ” Ash joked.

” Don’t mention that bastard Steven. That guy ran off to some mountain corner to dig for stones, and the Hoenn League can’t contact him at all. ”

” If it weren’t for him going missing, I wouldn’t have traveled all the way to the Hoenn region to work overtime and go undercover. ”

” I don’t know what the people in the Hoenn League are eating; Team Magma and Team Aqua captured the legendary Kyogre and Groudon without a sound... ”

Lance complained with some anger.

” Eh, Mr. Lance, was Groudon also captured? Didn’t Team Magma only capture Kyogre? ” Brock asked, shocked.

” That’s the Hoenn League’s intelligence. I’m not sure about the details, but they also got their hands on the two orbs that can control these two Pokemon, ” Lance gritted his teeth and said.

It was his first time encountering such an adverse situation.

After some pleasantries, Ash also introduced May and Latias to Lance.

Knowing that Latias was a Dragon-type and Psychic-type Pokemon, Lance again showed an expression of envy and jealousy toward Ash.

Clearly, he was a Dragon-type...

Well... okay, he was a Flying-type Elite, but at least he was moving toward being a Dragon-type Elite!

How come he couldn’t encounter a legendary Pokemon with the Dragon-type?

” Ash, Team Magma has a Blue Orb that can control Groudon. We must get our hands on this orb first to avoid any accidents, so... ”

Ash knew what Lance wanted to say, so he interrupted: ” I can find an opportunity to get the item, but as a price, I want the Team Magma base. ”

Lance heard this, his head full of question marks, and tilted his head to ask: ” What do you want the Team Magma base for? ”

Ash casually made up an excuse: ” Nothing much, I just don’t want to pay to build a laboratory in the future. Anyway, after Team Magma is arrested, their base will be abandoned, so why not let me make use of the waste? ”

Lance widened his eyes, looking at Ash in disbelief. ” Your mobile phone, capsule high-tech, and gravity room technology companies have already become giants; you’re so rich, and you still want to save money? ”

” I have a lot of money, but I still have to be frugal, right? One word: do you agree or not? If you don’t agree, you can figure out how to get the orb yourself. Anyway, you’re the one who accepted the Hoenn League mission, not me. ”

Ash had Lance figured out. He admitted that Lance’s strength was very strong, but facing those two guys who couldn’t fly and the fat fish, he was still a bit powerless.

” As long as you like it. But you have to promise that if things really develop into an uncontrollable situation, you will let your legendary Pokemon step in to help. ”

Lance also put forward his own requirements. He had also learned some information about what happened in Larousse City not long ago from Dr. Lund, and he also knew that Ash now had two more Rayquaza with the Dragon-type.

With Ash covering for him, he didn’t have to worry too much if an accident occurred.

” Helping is no problem, but during the time I take action, no matter what happens, you cannot report it to the League. ”

” No problem! ”

Thus, the cooperation agreement between the two was reached.

The method Ash thought of to snatch the Blue Orb was, naturally, to actively expose his identity, talk to Maxie about life ideals, and then seize the opportunity to snatch it.

As for May and the others, they would naturally act alongside Lance.

After waiting for nearly half an hour, the submarine finally stopped.

Several people followed behind a group of Team Magma members and slowly walked off the submarine.

” That is the leader of Team Magma, Maxie. ”
