Chapter 710: Chapter 709: Beating Up Lu Tao

Following the direction the young man pointed, Lin Yun went straight to the room’s door without a word. Standing outside, he could hear a young woman’s sweet laughter coming from within.

It wasn’t just Lin Yun who heard it; everyone behind him did as well. At that moment, Lu Bingning’s expression turned grim. Without another word, she kicked the door open.

BANG! The door flew open. Hearing the crash, Lu Tao, who was holding a young woman in his arms, didn’t even bother to see who it was and roared furiously.

”Who the hell are you? How dare you kick down my door? You got a death wish?”

As soon as Lu Tao finished speaking, a chilly voice cut in, ”Well, well. It’s been a few years, and you’ve certainly gotten bold, haven’t you?”

Hearing the voice, Lu Tao’s entire body went stiff. The young woman sitting on him was startled and tumbled to the floor. He turned his head, his expression ghastly, and his eyes immediately fell upon Lu Bingning standing in the doorway, her face a mask of cold fury.

Having been on the receiving end of Lu Bingning’s beatings since childhood, Lu Tao had an instinctive fear of his older sister. He never expected to see her here, and for a moment, he was frozen to the spot.

Lu Tao said nothing, but the young woman who had fallen off him got up and glared at Lu Bingning with a face full of anger. She didn’t dare offend Lu Tao, but in her eyes, Lu Bingning was probably just another one of his women.

Assuming they were both Lu Tao’s women, the young woman naturally felt no fear toward Lu Bingning. In fact, based on that assumption, a hint of hostility for Lu Bingning began to stir within her.

Straightening her clothes, the young woman looked at Lu Tao and whined, ”Brother Tao, look! This crazy woman just barged in without even knocking. She scared me to death!”

In response to the young woman’s whining, Lu Tao didn’t answer at all. His eyes were fixed blankly on Lu Bingning. By the looks of it, he was clearly scared silly.

Unaware of the relationship between Lu Tao and Lu Bingning, and seeing Lu Tao ignore her, the young woman turned on Lu Bingning. She strode up to her and snapped coldly.

”Who are you? You have no manners at all...”

The young woman had just started to scold Lu Bingning, but before she could finish, Lu Bingning cut her off with a single word. ”Scram.”

Hearing this, the young woman was stunned for a moment, then became utterly furious. ”Who are you telling to scram? Say that again, I dare you!”

”Scram. Or die.” Her eyes locked onto the young woman with an icy glare as the Elemental Power of her Celestial Spirit Realm Minor Achievement cultivation flared around her. Her killing intent stabbed toward the girl like countless bone-chilling daggers.

Sensing Lu Bingning’s killing intent, the young woman’s expression quickly changed from anger to terror. Lu Bingning’s cold gaze made her feel that if she didn’t leave right then, she would really be killed.

Not daring to linger a moment longer, the young woman scurried out of the room without another word. After she left, Lin Yun and the others walked in. Looking at Lu Tao, a hint of a smile flashed in Lin Yun’s eyes, as if to say, ’Haha, you’re so dead now, kid.’

Then, with no intention of getting involved in the siblings’ affairs, Lin Yun casually found a chair and sat down, looking like he was settling in to watch a good show.

Lu Bingning glared furiously at Lu Tao. But when Lu Tao saw Lin Yun, an idea seemed to strike him. He suddenly burst out laughing as he walked toward him.

”Haha, brother-in-law, what are you doing here? Why didn’t you tell me you were coming to the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild? I would have come to pick you all up.” As he spoke, Lu Tao strode towards Lin Yun, winking at him meaningfully.

Lu Tao was hoping for Lin Yun’s help, but Lin Yun pretended not to understand his signals. Just as Lu Tao was approaching Lin Yun, Lu Bingning shouted coldly, ”Get over here.”

Hearing his sister’s command, Lu Tao gave a sheepish laugh and then nervously walked toward Lu Bingning.

Before Lu Tao could even react after reaching her, Lu Bingning unleashed a brutal beating on him. In an instant, the entire room was filled with nothing but Lu Tao’s pained screams.

”Aiyah! Sis, stop hitting me! I was wrong, I was wrong! Sis, those are my family jewels! If you break them, the Lu Family line ends with me...!”

Watching this violent side of Lu Bingning, Mo Qingliu, the young girl sitting beside Lin Yun, giggled. ”Hee hee, I’ve never seen Sister Bingning get this angry before.”

After the thorough beating, Lu Bingning had left Lu Tao with a face as swollen as a pig’s head. Facing his sister, Lu Tao didn’t dare fight back in the slightest and could only beg for mercy.

Having vented most of her anger, Lu Bingning finally stopped. She looked at Lu Tao and said coldly, ”Not bad. Now that you’re here alone at the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild, ’the mountains are high and the Emperor is far away.’ Your big sister can’t control you anymore, is that it?”

”No, Sis, you misunderstood! Just now... I was teaching her about alchemy,” Lu Tao protested weakly, meeting Lu Bingning’s gaze.

”Teaching her about alchemy? Impressive. Might I ask, Master Lu, what kind of knowledge requires you to hold the person in your lap to teach it?” Lu Bingning sneered.

Ever since they were young, Lu Tao had received his fair share of beatings from Lu Bingning for his profligate behavior, and today was no exception. Only after Lu Bingning’s anger had subsided did Lin Yun finally explain to Lu Tao the purpose of their visit.

After Lin Yun finished his explanation, Lu Tao, sporting a heavily swollen face, said, ”Brother-in-law, the first two things are easy to handle. It’s just a matter of appraising the effects of some Elixirs; I’ll just go find my master for that. But getting the Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild involved in the Eastern Domain’s conflict will be difficult. After all, the Guild never intervenes in the disputes of any faction.”

Lin Yun’s first two tasks were to pick up the first batch of refined Saint-Breaking Celestial Pills and to have the Elixirs given to him by Cyan Dragon appraised.

Hearing Lu Tao’s words, Lin Yun didn’t reply but just smiled faintly. He then pointed to the trembling young man standing to the side and said, ”Oh, by the way, Master Lu, I didn’t realize your Pharmaceutical Instrument Master’s Guild had so many rules, nor that you, Master Lu, were so busy. When I arrived just now, this person blocked my way, so I crippled one of his arms. I don’t know...”

Lin Yun was still speaking, but before he could finish, Lu Tao had already leaped up and started punching and kicking the young man.

Lu Bingning was still furious, and Lu Tao himself was fuming. Since he didn’t dare offend anyone else present, the young man naturally became his punching bag.

While beating him, Lu Tao also cursed, ”You little bastard, do you have any idea who my brother-in-law is? How dare you block him? Why didn’t you come up and announce his arrival? You made my sister angry! I’ll cripple you today!”

After another flurry of punches and kicks, the young man was also beaten by Lu Tao until his face was swollen like a pig’s head. Then, without sparing a glance for the man on the floor, Lu Tao looked at Lin Yun with a smile. ”Brother-in-law, what do you think? Is that enough? If you’re still not satisfied, I’ll have someone drag him out and kill him.”

”Don’t ask me. Ask your sister,” Lin Yun said with a faint smile.
