Chapter 550: Chapter 550: Audacious Lust

The two led Lin Yun to the gates of the Ji Family estate in Fire City. While the Ji Family wasn’t the most powerful family in the city, they were still ranked in the top ten.

One of the two Core Disciples was the son of the Ji Family Patriarch. After a private discussion, they deviated from the original plan. Wei Yunhang had arranged for Lin Yun to stay with the Wei Family—Fire City’s number one family and Wei Yunhang’s own clan. However, coveting the beauty of Lu Bingning and the other two women, the two disciples ultimately decided to bring Lin Yun to the Ji Family instead.

The Ji Family had two Celestial Spirit Realm experts. One was Patriarch Ji, whose cultivation was at Celestial Spirit Realm Great Success; the other was the Ji Family’s Guard Commander, whose cultivation was at Celestial Spirit Realm Minor Achievement.

”Senior Brother,” one of them began, a hint of worry in his voice, ”do you think Brother Wei will blame us for this?”

”What’s there to be afraid of?” said the other, who was the son of the Ji Family Patriarch. ”Once we kill Lin Yun, we’ll just blame it on the remnants of the Qing Zhu Association. He’ll be dead by then—is Brother Wei really going to kill us over a dead man? Besides, with Lin Yun gone, won’t those three gorgeous women belong to us?”

Picturing the breathtaking beauty of Lu Bingning and the other two women, the one who had been worried threw all caution to the wind. ’How many times in a lifetime does one encounter such women?’

Truly, their audacity was fueled by lust. Reaching the Ji Family’s gate, they turned to Lin Yun and said, ”Senior Brother Lin, let’s stay in Fire City for the night. We’ll head to Taiqing Academy first thing in the morning.”

”Thank you,” Lin Yun replied coolly.

Upon entering the Ji Family estate, the two quickly arranged rooms for Lin Yun and his companions. What struck Lin Yun as odd was that their group had been split between two separate courtyards.

Lin Yun and Little Ape were assigned to one courtyard, while Lu Bingning and the other two women were in another. A maid led Lin Yun to his quarters, and upon learning that the women were not staying there, his tone turned icy.

”What is the meaning of this? We traveled here together. Why are we being split up?”

Hearing his words, the two Taiqing Academy disciples gave an awkward laugh. ”Senior Brother Lin, it’s just that this courtyard only has two rooms, so...”

Lin Yun listened to their explanation without a word, his gaze turning suspicious. As he stared them down, both men felt a chill creep up from the depths of their hearts.

Their behavior throughout the journey had already aroused Lin Yun’s suspicion. They were constantly whispering to each other while shooting glances at Lu Bingning and the others. At first, Lin Yun had chalked it up to the women’s beauty, but now, he suspected they harbored malicious intentions.

”Two rooms it is, then. No need to make other arrangements. We’ll stay here tonight and depart at dawn,” Lin Yun said coldly. Without waiting for their consent, he led Lu Bingning and the other two women straight into the courtyard.

Seeing Lin Yun’s demeanor, the two men’s faces turned grim. With a cold snort, they spun around and left. As they departed, they commanded the two Ji Family Guards behind them, ”Keep a close eye on them.”

Inside, the courtyard was just as the two had described: there were only two rooms. Lu Bingning and the other women took one, while Lin Yun and Little Ape took the other.

Sitting in the courtyard, Lin Yun said wryly to the three women, ”You three really are a handful.”

”How is that our fault?” Lan Xi replied with a laugh. ”You’re our man. Isn’t it your job to protect us?”

”That’s right, Brother Lin Yun,” Mo Qingliu chimed in, also smiling. ”We’re counting on you to protect us tonight.”

The three women were quite shrewd; if Lin Yun had noticed something was wrong, they certainly had too. In particular, they hadn’t missed the lecherous stares from the two disciples.

SIGH... With a soft sigh, Lin Yun reflected. It wasn’t that he was afraid, just annoyed by the trouble. There were no supreme experts at the Spirit Realm in Fire City. As for those at the Celestial Spirit Realm, Lin Yun was now confident enough to face them—unless he was up against a Demon Fiend or an expert at Celestial Spirit Realm Perfection. That would be a different story.

’If those two dare to try anything,’ he thought, ’they’ll have no one to blame but themselves when I get ruthless.’

After about an hour of rest, the two disciples returned to Lin Yun’s courtyard to invite him to a banquet. They said the Ji Family had arranged a feast especially for him.

Lin Yun, however, flatly refused their invitation, stating that he was exhausted from the journey and just wanted to rest.

Rejected so bluntly, the two men retreated from the courtyard and hurried toward the Ji Family’s main hall.

In the Ji Family’s main hall, a banquet was already laid out. Seeing the two disciples arrive alone, Patriarch Ji asked, ”Where is Young Master Lin?”

”Father, don’t mind him,” one of the two replied. ”A dead man walking has no right to be so arrogant.”

”A dead man walking?” Patriarch Ji repeated, puzzled by his son’s words.

”Father, you don’t understand,” his son began. ”Lin Yun’s trip to Fire City was actually arranged by Brother Wei. The goal is to kill him right here in our city...”

The two of them spun a lie for the Patriarch. According to their tale, Wei Yunhang had lured Lin Yun to Fire City specifically to have him killed, and they claimed to have begged for the honor of carrying out the mission.

They claimed that if they succeeded in killing Lin Yun, Brother Wei would reward them handsomely, which would allow the Ji Family to rise and become the second most powerful family in Fire City.

The two were truly vicious, with the son even deceiving his own father. Although Patriarch Ji believed his son’s story, he still voiced his concerns.

”But Lin Yun is a Core Disciple of Flawless Palace. If he dies in Fire City, what are we supposed to do when they come asking questions?”

”Father, do you really think our Taiqing Academy is afraid of Flawless Palace?” the Patriarch’s son retorted.

”Mm, that is true... but for Lin Yun to be one of the six great Demon Fiends of the Eastern Domain, his Combat Power must be immense. How can we possibly kill him?”

”Father, Lin Yun’s cultivation is only at the Primordial Ocean Realm. With you and the Commander taking action, killing him would be effortless.”

After deliberating for a full two hours, Patriarch Ji was completely taken in by his son’s deception. He resolved to make his move and kill Lin Yun that very night. Believing the order came from Wei Yunhang, Patriarch Ji was determined to see it through.

He ordered the Ji Family’s Guard Commander to gather the clan’s best men and surround Lin Yun’s courtyard. Gazing at the small courtyard, now sealed off so tightly that not even a drop of water could pass through, the two Taiqing Academy disciples broke into lecherous smirks.

”HAHA! Today we not only get to kill Lin Yun, but we also get our hands on those three gorgeous women! This is just...”

Under the cover of darkness, the Ji Family men were in position, waiting only for the Patriarch’s order to charge in for the kill.

Little did they know, Lin Yun was sitting in a chair inside his room. Deep into the night, he hadn’t slept a wink.

’They’re really courting death...’ Lin Yun had already sensed everything happening outside. A bone-chilling light glinted in his eyes as he muttered indifferently.
