Chapter 465: Chapter 465: The Gradually Clearing Situation (Part 1)

Having settled the matter of the alliance with Wei Yunhang, as for the Spiritual Light Pavilion, there would certainly be no problem. Not only did Taiqing Academy always team up with Spiritual Light Pavilion, but Meng Liuli’s relationship with Luo Feng alone ensured there wouldn’t be any issues.

When this news was relayed to the disciples, those from the Flawless Palace were naturally ecstatic. This was the first time they would finally be able to participate in the struggles of the Four Great Forces.

This time, the Flawless Palace would no longer be like before, only able to pick up the scraps left behind by the Four Great Forces, obtaining very few treasures.

With the two sides allied, they naturally had to act together. Now united, the two groups headed toward the pavilion. Along the way, they gathered any disciples they encountered from their own sects and killed those from other sects to plunder their riches.

「Three days passed.」

Lin Yun’s group had arrived at a place not far from the pavilion. It was then that they finally encountered a small squad of disciples from the Spiritual Light Pavilion.

There were five of them in total, all young women. They weren’t stunningly beautiful, but one could call them pretty.

Upon encountering Wei Yunhang and Lin Yun, the five Spiritual Light Pavilion disciples were inwardly puzzled. ’Why would Taiqing Academy be with the Flawless Palace? And how did the Flawless Palace dare to venture this deep? In the past, they only ever dared to linger on the outskirts.’

Though it was strange, the five young women didn’t dwell on it. ’The Flawless Palace must be seeking protection from the Taiqing Academy,’ they thought, ’or maybe the Academy wants to use them as cannon fodder.’

In any case, the five Spiritual Light Pavilion disciples were quite cold toward the people from Flawless Palace. They chose to walk alongside the Taiqing Academy disciples, and throughout the journey, the five young women openly scoffed at the Flawless Palace disciples with expressions of utter disdain.

Lin Yun didn’t bother to explain. ’It’s not like I’m going to waste my time explaining something so trivial to them. I’m not that bored.’

With the five Spiritual Light Pavilion disciples joining them, the men from Taiqing Academy were overjoyed. They were naturally delighted to have young women in their company, and the Taiqing Academy disciples constantly crowded around the five, fawning over them.

”Hmph. They look down their noses at us. If Senior Brother hadn’t forbidden us from causing trouble, I’d go over there and give those five bitches a piece of my mind.” A Flawless Palace Direct Disciple snorted coldly, watching the five young women laughing and joking with the Taiqing Academy disciples.

”That’s enough. Senior Brother has his own plans. Just ignore them,” Bai Zhicheng said, turning to the disciple.

Walking at the head of the group, Wei Yunhang glanced over at the sullen faces of the Flawless Palace disciples. He chuckled and said to Lin Yun, ”Brother Lin Yun, you certainly have a good temper. Do you not want me to go and explain the situation for you?”

”Explain what?” Lin Yun asked.

”Explain it to the disciples from Spiritual Light Pavilion, of course. Right now, they probably think your Flawless Palace is either seeking protection from my Taiqing Academy or being used as cannon fodder by us,” Wei Yunhang said.

Hearing this, Lin Yun just smiled faintly and replied nonchalantly, ”What’s there to explain? What they think is their business. What does it have to do with me?”

”Haha, you’re really open-minded about it...” Wei Yunhang roared with laughter.

As they continued forward, two groups of people appeared up ahead, locked in a fierce battle. Coincidentally, one side was a subordinate force of the Taiqing Academy, thirty strong, while the other was a subordinate force of the Flawless Palace, also with thirty people.

Looking at the Flawless Palace’s subordinate force, Lin Yun recognized a few of them. They were from the Bai and He Families of Wind City.

Seeing a large group approaching in the distance, the members of the Taiqing Academy’s subordinate force were the first to recognize Wei Yunhang at the lead. They immediately burst out laughing. ”Haha, Brother Wei from Taiqing Academy is here! Prepare to die!”

Upon hearing this, the faces of the disciples from the Flawless Palace’s subordinate forces turned grim. ’If Wei Yunhang is here, we have no chance of winning.’

Just as their spirits sank, a disciple from the He Family suddenly shouted, ”Look! Isn’t that Senior Brother Lin next to Wei Yunhang?”

At his words, everyone looked toward Lin Yun. Seeing this, one of the men from the Taiqing Academy side sneered, ”Haha, Senior Brother Lin? He’s probably long been captured by Brother Wei.”

Beaming with smiles, the members of the Taiqing Academy’s subordinate force watched Wei Yunhang approach. They quickly ran up to him, and before he could even speak, one of them said eagerly, ”Brother Wei, they’re all from Flawless Palace’s subordinate forces! Perfect, we can kill them all at once.”

These men from the Taiqing Academy’s subordinate force had, of course, seen the Flawless Palace disciples behind Lin Yun. However, like the group from the Spiritual Light Pavilion, they assumed they had been captured by Wei Yunhang to be used as cannon fodder.

Hearing this, the expressions of the Flawless Palace disciples instantly darkened. One of the more hot-tempered ones shouted, ”What did you say? I’ll flay you alive, see if I don’t!”

Wei Yunhang’s expression flickered. He glanced at Lin Yun, who remained perfectly calm. Wei Yunhang immediately snapped, ”What nonsense are you spouting? Stop this at once! The Flawless Palace are our friends now.”

As soon as Wei Yunhang spoke, the members of the Taiqing Academy’s subordinate force were utterly dumbfounded. So were the five young women from the Spiritual Light Pavilion.

Terrified, they immediately fell silent. Just then, Lin Yun beckoned to the members of the He and Bai Families. The group of more than thirty people quickly made their way over to him.

”Where are the others?” Lin Yun asked, looking at the leader of the He Family group.

The man from the He Family replied respectfully, ”Reporting to Senior Brother Lin, we haven’t seen anyone else yet.”

Lin Yun nodded slightly and told them to follow him.

Aside from the members of the Bai and He Families, Lin Yun didn’t recognize the others. Still, they were all disciples of Flawless Palace’s subordinate forces, and they were naturally delighted to have met up, quickly falling in line behind Lin Yun.

The group swelled in an instant. Now over a hundred strong, they continued majestically toward the pavilion.

From the accounts of the Flawless Palace disciples, the members of the subordinate forces learned what had happened: Lin Yun and Wei Yunhang had fought an epic battle, but in the end, neither could defeat the other, so the two had chosen to form an alliance.

Of course, the Flawless Palace disciples’ version was inevitably a bit exaggerated. Nevertheless, hearing that Lin Yun was so powerful, all the disciples from the subordinate forces looked at him with admiration as he walked shoulder to shoulder with Wei Yunhang.

Meanwhile, the Taiqing Academy disciples explained the situation to the disciples from the Spiritual Light Pavilion and their own subordinate forces.

In the version told by the Taiqing Academy disciples, however, it was naturally Wei Yunhang who had gone easy on Lin Yun.

Having learned the truth of the matter, the five young women from the Spiritual Light Pavilion and the members of the Taiqing Academy’s subordinate forces all came to understand one thing.

The Flawless Palace wasn’t seeking protection, nor were they cannon fodder. It was because they had produced a powerhouse like Lin Yun.

Now that the Flawless Palace had Lin Yun, and Wei Yunhang himself had acknowledged Lin Yun’s strength, it meant the disciples of the Flawless Palace were their equals.

Thinking back on their initial cold attitude toward the Flawless Palace disciples and their own presumptuous assumptions, the five disciples from the Spiritual Light Pavilion suddenly felt a pang of shame.
