Chapter 46: Chapter 46: Snatching Food from the Tiger’s Mouth

The Blood Refining Ancestor chased after Lin Yun at a leisurely pace, not in any hurry to strike, a mocking look on his face as he toyed with him.

’This undying old bastard...’ Lin Yun seethed as the Blood Refining Ancestor toyed with him. But at that moment, all he could do was run. What else was there? The man was in the Primordial Ocean Realm. Was he supposed to go fight him to the death?

While the Blood Refining Ancestor was chasing Lin Yun, the nearby Monk and Daoist seized the opportunity to accelerate, trying to escape the area.

Spotting the figures of the Monk and Daoist, the Blood Refining Ancestor let out a soft hum. He then turned to Lin Yun with a faint smile. ”Little fellow, the game ends now.”

As he spoke, the Blood Refining Ancestor thrust out a palm. A crimson hand descended from the sky, instantly engulfing Lin Yun.

BOOM! The crimson palm smashed into the ground. When the dust and smoke cleared, Lin Yun’s body was revealed. His clothes were tattered, and he was covered head to toe in blood.

The Blood Refining Ancestor didn’t think Lin Yun could possibly survive a direct blow from a Primordial Ocean Realm expert. So, he ignored Lin Yun and headed straight for the Monk and Daoist.

Seeing the Blood Refining Ancestor coming for them, the terrified Monk and Daoist took off running for their lives. At that moment, their Body Technique Martial Skills were on full display.

As an old monster who had lived for many years, the Blood Refining Ancestor possessed extraordinary insight. He saw that they both had Body Technique Martial Skills and, with a single glance, discerned their level.

”Earth Level Body Technique Martial Skills, and Middle Tier at that. You two little fellows, hand over the Martial Skills, and I can spare your lives.” Overcome with greed, the Blood Refining Ancestor made his demand.

He was incredibly envious of an Earth Level Body Technique Martial Skill. Even as a Primordial Ocean Realm expert, his own Body Technique Martial Skill was only at the Earth Level Lower Tier.

Hearing the Blood Refining Ancestor’s demand, the Monk and Daoist’s speed didn’t drop at all; if anything, they ran even faster. At the same time, the Monk put on a solemn expression and said, ”Amitabha. Old benefactor, we are but two humble ascetics with no worldly attachments. Why must you insist on hunting us?”

When the Monk spoke, he had the perfect air of an Enlightened Monk. An ordinary person would surely have been fooled by his facade.

But was the Blood Refining Ancestor an ordinary person? Obviously not. He sneered. ”Little Monk, little Daoist, I’ve heard a few things about your activities in the Mysterious City. You’re nothing but a pair of frauds. You have two paths today: hand over your respective Body Technique Martial Skills, or I’ll send you on your way to the next life.”

The Blood Refining Ancestor was relentless. The Monk and Daoist now understood completely that escaping with their lives today would not be so simple.

Still, the pair had some aces up their sleeves. After all, their respective masters were existences on par with the Blood Refining Ancestor—perhaps even much stronger.

The pair remained silent for a long moment, and the Blood Refining Ancestor’s patience wore thin. He figured he could just find the Martial Skills on their corpses after he killed them anyway.

Of course, that was assuming Lin Yun hadn’t already stolen their Space Rings.

”Since you’re being so stubborn, don’t blame me for being merciless!” With a cold shout, the Blood Refining Ancestor struck out with his palm again. A crimson hand descended from the heavens, instantly engulfing the Monk and Daoist.

”Amitabha! Benefactor, you will face retribution sooner or later for treating men of the cloth this way!”

”Boundless Celestial Venerable! I have wandered for thousands of miles on my pilgrimage. A man as bloodthirsty as you will surely face Celestial Punishment one day!”

Both proclaimed this solemnly. As they finished speaking, they each produced a Dharma Artifact. The Monk held a small Golden Bell, and the Daoist held a pristine white feather.

BOOM! The crimson palm crashed down. But a moment later, even the Blood Refining Ancestor was faintly shocked. His attack hadn’t harmed them in the slightest.

”Dharma Artifacts! HAHA! The heavens are smiling upon me! You actually have defensive Dharma Artifacts. Hand them over, and I’ll spare you. Otherwise, I’ll hunt you to the ends of the earth and kill you!” After a moment of contemplation, the Blood Refining Ancestor quickly recognized their treasures for what they were. Dharma Artifacts were extremely precious; although they had a limited number of uses, even he didn’t own one.

His composure shattered. Now, the Blood Refining Ancestor only had eyes for the Dharma Artifacts in their hands. As the chase continued, he attacked relentlessly, but the Monk and Daoist’s Dharma Artifacts blocked every single blow.

A dozen attacks, and he still hadn’t managed to touch a single hair on their heads. Growing ever more covetous, the Blood Refining Ancestor attacked with increasing frequency.

In the midst of this three-way chase, Lin Yun, who should have been dead, actually got up from the ground. Who else in the world besides Lin Yun could survive a direct hit from a Primordial Ocean Realm expert?

Lin Yun, whom the Blood Refining Ancestor had left for dead, was injured but otherwise perfectly fine.

The Flawless Flesh Body was truly worthy of its reputation as the ultimate secret art of the Flawless Palace. It was precisely because of this that Lin Yun had dared to take the Blood Refining Ancestor’s attack head-on, after which he had immediately feigned death.

Lin Yun watched the Blood Refining Ancestor hunt down the Monk and Daoist, and he noticed their Dharma Artifacts. However, he wasn’t the slightest bit tempted.

Instead, he turned and ran toward the Blood Refining Young Master’s location.

While fleeing, the Monk happened to glance over and see Lin Yun running toward the Blood Refining Young Master. His eyes went wide as saucers, his face a mask of utter disbelief, as if he’d just seen a ghost.

”Holy crap, is that guy a monster? He took a hit from a Primordial Ocean Realm expert with his physical body and without a Dharma Artifact,” he muttered in terror.

At the same time, seeing the direction Lin Yun was running, the Monk instantly figured out his plan.

’That brat! He’s using the two of us as a distraction so he can grab that Essence-Raising Fruit!’ Furious, the Monk shouted to the Blood Refining Ancestor.

”Hey, old man! That kid’s not dead! Look! He’s going to steal your Essence-Raising Fruit!”

At these words, the Blood Refining Ancestor glanced toward Lin Yun, but only for a moment. He quickly turned his attention back to the Monk and Daoist.

”Let him have the Essence-Raising Fruit. How could one measly fruit be more important than your two Dharma Artifacts?”

Hearing this, the Monk and Daoist were so furious they could have coughed up blood. Not only was someone else snatching the benefits, but they were also stuck being chased for no reason.

With no one to stop him, Lin Yun easily reached the Essence-Raising Fruit tree. The Blood Refining Young Master was in the middle of his breakthrough and had no energy to stop him.

He leaped up and easily plucked the last remaining Essence-Raising Fruit, tucking it away. With the prize secured, Lin Yun didn’t linger; now was not the time for greed.

Lin Yun quickly fled in the opposite direction, while in the distance, the furious shouts of the Monk and Daoist rang out.

”Brat, leave the Essence-Raising Fruit! We paid for that with our lives!”

”Brat, I swear I won’t let you get away with this!”

As they roared in fury, the Blood Refining Ancestor’s voice echoed from behind them. ”Hand over the Dharma Artifacts, and I will spare your lives.”

At that moment, the Monk and Daoist, who had spent their lives swindling and deceiving others, felt like they were about to cough up blood. When had they ever been on the receiving end of such a raw deal?
