Invincible Snake Emperor

Chapter 712: Chapter 653: Ba Snake Crossing the Tribulation (Part 2)

”Haha... Not bad, not bad. To think it’s the Thirty-six Great Tribulations. Truly worthy of an Ancient Ba Snake.”

On the mountaintop, enveloped by an oppressive celestial might, two figures appeared: a young man and a middle-aged one.

The majestic, eighty-meter Ba Snake was taken aback, its enormous Snake Gaze fixed in astonishment on the two ant-like humans who had appeared beneath its massive body.

’Courting death? They dare disturb me, the great Ba Snake, during my Crossing the Tribulation?’

’Hmm, no, that’s not right. These newcomers are hostile, and they’re no ordinary folk.’

’My eighty-meter body is so majestic and terrifying, yet they still dare to show themselves. They must be fearless for a reason.’

Upon closer inspection, the Ba Snake realized it couldn’t gauge the young man’s depth—it couldn’t even tell if he was human or a Demon. The middle-aged man, however, shocked the Ba Snake. It spoke in a hoarse voice, ”Are you the Cyan Dragon that guards Bai Town?”

It had crossed paths with the Cyan Dragon before. Even though he had undergone Transformation into a human, it could still recognize his Qi.

The Cyan Dragon’s Cultivation was enough to make it despair. ’Why would he appear here?’

”Lord Cyan Dragon, this humble snake has not trespassed in Bai Town. What is your purpose in appearing while I am Crossing the Tribulation?”

”Little Ba Snake, my master is looking for you,” Celestial Master Zhang said with a smile.

The majestic Ba Snake almost thought it had misheard. ’Master? The magnificent and all-powerful Cyan Dragon has a master?’

’Is his master from the Celestial Court?’

’It couldn’t be the young man next to him, could it?’

”Ba Snake, your Cultivation has grown, but your eyes have failed you. What, you don’t recognize me?” Tu Xiao’an said with a smile as he looked at the majestic Ba Snake.

’This creature wanted to barge into Bai Town to find me, and now that I’m standing right in front of it, it’s blind to who I am.’

’How laughable.’

’Then again, it’s understandable. Back then, I was just a small snake, not even Rank Two. Now, I’ve undergone Transformation, and my Cultivation is astronomical.’

’It’s only natural the Ba Snake wouldn’t recognize me.’

’It isn’t even worthy of recognizing me.’

Now, as Tu Xiao’an looked at the Ancient Ba Snake’s majestic, eighty-meter body that seemed to vie with the heavens in height, its aura incomparably domineering, he felt nothing at all.

He remembered the first time he saw the Ba Snake manifest its massive, thirty-meter body.

Back then, the sight had left Tu Xiao’an stunned.

He had to admit, this Ba Snake’s potential was astonishing. In less than a year, its Cultivation had taken it from thirty meters to eighty, reaching Peak second Rank.

The Thirty-six Great Tribulations also spoke to its significance.

”My lord, you are...?”

Although the Ba Snake currently manifested as a majestic eighty-meter serpent, and the two people below it were as small as ants, it was the one feeling terrified.

’With the Cyan Dragon here, I am nothing. And the other person is the Cyan Dragon’s master... what kind of heaven-defying figure must he be?’

”Take a good look at me,” Tu Xiao’an said with a faint smile. Suddenly, arcs of electricity coiled around his body as small silver snakes made of lightning darted around him, creating an astonishing sight.

”Thunder Element?”

’The Cyan Dragon’s master controls Thunder, too?’

’And from the way he speaks, it sounds like we’ve met?’

’How could I possibly know such a heaven-defying figure?’

”Ba Snake, have you forgotten?” Tu Xiao’an decided to be direct. ”We made an agreement. You would leave the borders of Bai Town, and in return, I promised to help you with your Crossing the Tribulation and resist the Celestial Thunder.”

”You... you... you’re that little Earth Snake!”

An image of a Gold and Silver Snake surfaced in the Ba Snake’s mind.

’This young man is that Thunder-wielding Gold and Silver Snake... How is that possible?’

’He’s in human form now... Could it be that he already crossed his tribulation and became a Rank Three Demon Spirit?’

The Ba Snake was so stunned that for a moment, it almost forgot it was in the middle of its own Tribulation Crossing.

RUMBLE...!

The void trembled. A Tribulation Cloud Flower bloomed, and a bolt of purple Celestial Thunder brutally struck down toward the eighty-meter Ba Snake.

AGH...!

Its mind in chaos, the Ba Snake was caught off guard and took the full force of the blow. White smoke billowed from its cyan, black, and crimson scales as a purple electric current crackled over its body.

”How about it? The power of this Celestial Thunder is much more refreshing than my Thunder was back then, isn’t it?”

Tu Xiao’an watched the Ba Snake suffer. During their battle back then, his Cultivation had been too low. The power of the Thunder he could release was limited and couldn’t harm it at all.

Now, however, a single bolt of his Thunder could blast the Ba Snake to smithereens.

”This is impossible... impossible...”

The Ba Snake cried out, not from the pain of the Celestial Thunder, but from the inability to accept that the little Earth Snake from back then had completed its Crossing the Tribulation even faster than itself.

For him to have achieved Transformation and now be standing here watching it go through its own tribulation... it was the ultimate irony.

’My Ba Snake lineage is the hegemon of the Snake Race! I have extraordinary Talent and command an Elemental Ability, yet I lost to a little Earth Snake.’

’The crucial part is that this little Earth Snake is now so powerful I can’t gauge his strength at all, and he even has a Cyan Dragon for a bodyguard.’ ℯℯ𝑙.

’Good heavens!’

”Ba Snake, if you can’t handle it, just say so,” Tu Xiao’an said. ”I’m a man of my word. Since I promised to help you withstand the Celestial Thunder, I won’t break my promise.”

”My lord, this humble snake wouldn’t dare trouble you to intervene.” The Ba Snake’s tone had completely changed as it looked at Tu Xiao’an with trepidation. ’How could I possibly dare to call him ’little Earth Snake’ anymore?’

’Times had changed. He was now Rank 3 or higher and could kill it with ease.’

’How could I possibly delude myself into thinking he would help me?’

’It would be a blessing if he just didn’t kill me.’

’After all, we were enemies back then.’

”You really don’t need my help?” Tu Xiao’an asked, his face a picture of sincerity.

The Ba Snake laughed bitterly to itself. ’Please, I’m trying to cross a tribulation here, and you want to chat?’

’If he weren’t so overwhelmingly powerful, I would’ve swatted him with my tail long ago.’

RUMBLE...!

After the Ba Snake endured the first bolt of Celestial Thunder, the Extraterrestrial Meteorite stirred. Seething with fire and carrying immense Celestial Power, it smashed down furiously toward the Ba Snake.

”By the oath of water, in your name, with my body—Water Dragon...”

The Ba Snake dared not be distracted any longer. With a roar like a tsunami, it opened its cavernous maw, and a monstrous pillar of water surged forth.

The surging pillar of water traversed the void, taking the shape of a dragon. With unstoppable might, it rushed toward the Extraterrestrial Meteorite to devour it.

In an instant, the world seemed to turn upside down as a massive cloud of steam billowed out.

The Ba Snake felt a surge of joy. ’Did my water extinguish the Extraterrestrial Meteorite?’

But suddenly, the Extraterrestrial Meteorite pierced through the massive Water Dragon and continued its descent toward the Ba Snake.

Not far away, Tu Xiao’an shook his head. This Ba Snake was too naive. How could mortal water possibly extinguish Celestial Fire?

Celestial Fire, after all, contained Celestial Power.

However, while it couldn’t extinguish the Celestial Fire, it did significantly reduce its power.

The Extraterrestrial Meteorite ultimately crashed onto the Ba Snake’s head. Fortunately, the Ba Snake was no common beast and managed to endure the blow.

But the Thirty-six Great Tribulations had only just begun.

”Master, are you perhaps thinking of taking this Ba Snake as a subordinate?” Celestial Master Zhang couldn’t help but ask, noticing how focused Tu Xiao’an was on the creature.

Tu Xiao’an watched the Ba Snake’s tribulation with an indifferent gaze and said faintly, ”No. Your master has taken a liking to its Water Ability.”

Celestial Master Zhang froze for a second, then instantly understood.

’The master was going to devour the Ba Snake.’

”Later, if the Ba Snake can’t hold on, you go and help it complete its Crossing the Tribulation.” Tu Xiao’an had no intention of breaking his promise.

Business was business. Even if he intended to devour the Ba Snake and strip it of its Water Ability, he would wait until after it had successfully completed its Crossing the Tribulation.

”Amitabha... This Ba Snake is truly pitiful. Even if it succeeds in Crossing the Tribulation, it won’t be allowed to live,” Celestial Master Zhang sighed.

Tu Xiao’an rolled his eyes. He hadn’t heard Celestial Master Zhang chant ”Amitabha” in a long time.

Not since he had become a Cyan Dragon.

Next, Tu Xiao’an found a small rock to sit on and waited for the Ba Snake to successfully complete its Crossing the Tribulation.

「An hour later.」

The mountaintop was a wreck. A Black Snake, its entire body smoldering with black smoke, lay on the ground, barely breathing and extremely weak.

After completing the tribulation, the eighty-meter Ba Snake had shrunk into a small Black Snake, only about three meters long.

The great tribulation had nearly cost it its life, and that was even with someone helping it resist the thunder.

Otherwise, if it had faced it alone, the outcome would have been uncertain.

STEP... STEP...!

The sound of footsteps approached. The Ba Snake weakly lifted its head to see a handsome young man walking over with a smile. ”Ba Snake,” he said, ”congratulations on successfully Crossing the Tribulation.”

”What do you want?” The Ba Snake suddenly had a very bad premonition.

’This little Earth Snake, who had leaped the dragon gate and transformed, had come here during my tribulation. What was his true motive?’

”Ba Snake, you see your Snake King before you. Why have you not kowtowed in worship?” Tu Xiao’an’s voice was suddenly cold and devoid of emotion.

”What?”

”I am the King of the Snake Clan.”

Suddenly, an incomparably terrifying Snake King aura erupted from Tu Xiao’an, enveloping the weakened Ba Snake.
