Invincible Snake Emperor

Chapter 693: Chapter 639: Tu Xiao’an’s Impulse

Tu Xiao’an was also quite fond of this Peacock Bird. After all, she had followed him the longest.

Besides, now that she had undergone Transformation, she had become graceful and elegant. She was a delight to look at and deserved some extra care.

”Xiaoleng, is this your castle? It’s really huge! It’s even more magnificent than Brother Bai’s castle.”

Su Rushi walked toward the castle, cradling the exquisite little snake in her arms. Her beautiful eyes sparkled, finding everything new and fascinating.

The White Demon King’s Azure Bamboo Forest Castle was, naturally, no match for the Snake Palace. Back in the day, Demon King Liu’s power in the Yaoling Mountain Range had been the greatest.

Tu Xiao’an had completely lucked out. He now occupied the Snake Palace and commanded the Snake Race, possessing the air of one who could rule the world.

’Let’s go. I’ll give you a proper tour of the palace.’ Tu Xiao’an said he’d lead the way, but in reality, he was gleefully giving directions and introductions while nestled in Su Rushi’s soft, fragrant embrace.

Azure Owl followed behind, bored out of her mind. Unwilling to be a third wheel, she spoke up, ”Bad master, let Ermao out to play with me! I haven’t played with Ermao in so long.”

Ermao was Golden Pupils. Tu Xiao’an smiled faintly. ”Play with you? I don’t think it can. Perhaps you can play with it.”

”Why not!” Azure Owl was at a loss. ’Is there a difference?’

”Because...” A playful glint flashed in Tu Xiao’an’s Snake Gaze. With a thought, a giant egg fell in front of Azure Owl. He said teasingly, ”If you hatch this egg, your Ermao will appear.”

Azure Owl: ”...”

’What the hell? I’m a Peacock, not a mother hen! Hatching eggs is a professional skill; I don’t know how to do it.’

”Ermao, you poor thing! The bad master stuffed you into an egg.”

Tu Xiao’an: ”...”

That day, Tu Xiao’an became a tour guide, single-mindedly showing Su Rushi around the magnificent Snake Palace. The palace was so large and had so many halls that even he, its king, didn’t have a clear idea of its full extent.

In any case, after a full day, they still hadn’t managed to see the entire Snake Palace.

It did, however, completely exhaust Su Rushi.

Tu Xiao’an had wanted to introduce Su Rushi to his mother and older sister, but when he remembered he couldn’t undergo Transformation in front of her, he gave up the idea.

’Anyway, we’ll be living in the Snake Palace from now on. They’ll meet sooner or later. There’s no rush.’

「That evening」

Tu Xiao’an, with mischievous intentions, arranged for Su Rushi to stay in his own grand imperial chamber.

Su Rushi didn’t understand why. It wasn’t until she was ready for bed that she lowered her head, pushed the little snake in her arms aside, and said softly, ”Xiaoleng, I’m going to sleep now. You should go rest, too. You don’t have to stay with me.”

’I’ve been with you all day, and now you’re telling me I can’t stay when it matters most?’

”Aren’t we sleeping together?” Tu Xiao’an blinked his Snake Gaze, showing no intention of leaving.

”Of course not!”

Times had changed. Ever since Su Rushi learned that her pet snake was a Great Demon King who could undergo Transformation, how could she treat him the same as before?

”Don’t worry, I won’t transform!” Tu Xiao’an giggled.

Su Rushi’s face flushed red. She bit her lip. ”That’s not okay either. My grandfather specifically told me not to be alone with you at night. He said it’s not safe.”

’Damn old man, meddling old fool...!’

”Then let’s just talk for a while. I’ll leave after you fall asleep,” the snake, Tu Xiao’an, said shamelessly.

Seeing the exquisite little snake lying by the edge of the bed, obediently coiled up, Su Rushi could only relent. She lay down on the inner side of the bed, stroking the snake’s unparalleled stripes, and said, ”Xiaoleng, can you take me to see the Purple Bamboo Forest tomorrow?”

That place had been her paradise for two years.

Even after leaving, she couldn’t stop thinking about it.

Tu Xiao’an was taken aback. After he killed the White Demon King, the Azure Bamboo Forest was left without a leader. He had no idea what had become of it.

It might have already become the territory of another Great Demon.

But Tu Xiao’an was also very fond of the Purple Bamboo Forest and couldn’t let it fall into someone else’s hands.

”Okay, I’ll take you there tomorrow.”

Su Rushi’s beautiful eyes lit up. ”Hee hee, that’s wonderful!”

”That’s nothing. If you like it, you can live in the Purple Bamboo Forest just like before, in your very own Rushi Pavilion.”

”Really?” Su Rushi’s delicate frame trembled, and she was overjoyed. ”Can I really live in Rushi Pavilion again?”

Compared to the splendor and endless halls of the Snake Palace, Su Rushi still preferred her own Rushi Pavilion.

It was a dreamlike place of spring breezes, green mountains, purple bamboo, sweet dew, green leaves, and warm sun.

”When have I ever lied to you? I promised to get you out of the Yaoling Mountain Range, and didn’t I do it?” Tu Xiao’an said.

’That’s right. Back then, he was just a tiny snake, yet he snatched me away from the White Demon King and even killed him.’

’It was as if there was nothing in the world he couldn’t do.’

”Thank you, Xiaoleng,” Su Rushi said, extremely happy. ”Time for sleep! I can’t wait for tomorrow to come!”

’She only left a few days ago, and she’s already this desperate to go back?’ Tu Xiao’an thought to himself.

”Alright, sleep it is.” He didn’t know if the girl was just being naive or had simply forgotten, but she had actually consented to Tu Xiao’an sleeping next to her.

She had a classic case of no defenses against a wolf.

「An hour later.」

’I get it now,’ Tu Xiao’an realized. ’This girl really is naive—or rather, completely innocent. She’s actually asleep.’

’Is she really not worried I’ll do something to her?’

’She trusts me that much.’

’But why do I feel a little uncomfortable about this?’ Tu Xiao’an wondered. ’Is it because she doesn’t see me as a man? Does she really just see me as a Snake?’

’Hmph. If I were to transform now, nothing would stop me from doing whatever I want.’

Immediately, the exquisite little snake flashed with light. The next moment, a handsome young man was lying next to Su Rushi.

His features were as handsome as a painting, and a roguish smile played on his lips. ’Now there’s no meddling old fool to ruin my fun.’
