Invincible Snake Emperor

Chapter 541: Chapter 528: Primordial Spirit Annihilated

If it were the real Demon King Liu, Tu Xiao’an would have turned and fled without a second thought. There was simply no comparison. That being was a Rank Three Peak existence, a super boss.

But against a mere Primordial Spirit, Tu Xiao’an had the courage to fight—and he didn’t even think he would lose.

Besides, this was his home turf: his own sea of consciousness.

’I was too young and naive,’ Tu Xiao’an thought, reflecting on how he’d been tricked. ’I should have sensed something was wrong. I shouldn’t have been so trusting.’

Why?

The Mutated Bloodsucker Snake had already served as a warning. The ferocity and cruelty of the Vampire Snake went without saying, and that snake had been nurtured from Demon King Liu’s own Lifebound Golden Core.

If Demon King Liu were any sort of decent being, how could his Lifebound Golden Core have birthed such a vicious Evil Snake?

Unfortunately, Tu Xiao’an only realized this now. Otherwise, his opponent would never have found the opportunity to invade his sea of consciousness.

Now, within his sea of consciousness, two orbs the size of a grown man’s fist collided violently. They smashed and tore at each other, both intent on devouring their opponent whole.

This was a battle between Primordial Spirits, and the victor would become the master of this body. The outcome—whether Tu Xiao’an would defend his home turf or Demon King Liu would usurp control—would soon be decided.

A battle between Primordial Spirits had no fancy techniques. It was simply about ramming and tearing into each other.

After a few exchanges, a special, oppressive power began to emanate from the surface of the shining orb that was Tu Xiao’an. It then crashed viciously into Demon King Liu’s black orb.

At the moment of impact, the black orb let out a pained shriek and was sent flying backward. Instantly, it shrank by a full inch.

”How does your Primordial Spirit possess Celestial Power?!” Demon King Liu cried out in alarm. As the orb had charged, even before it made contact, his Primordial Spirit had begun to tremble in fear, completely unable to resist.

In contrast, the shining orb had grown larger by an inch after the collision. The impact was like taking a bite out of its opponent, consuming the power of its Primordial Spirit.

That was why the black orb had shrunk, while he had grown.

A cold voice issued from the shining orb. ”Trying to steal a chicken, but you lost the rice instead. You want my body? Tu Xiao’an’s body? You’re not nearly powerful enough!”

Tu Xiao’an’s Primordial Spirit was in no way inferior to Demon King Liu’s. More importantly, he possessed an invincible trump card: Celestial Power.

The Might of Heaven and Earth could obliterate all manner of ghouls and demons. In the face of Celestial Might, Primordial Spirits and souls could be extinguished with ease.

”Die!”

Radiating Celestial Might, Tu Xiao’an’s shining orb shot ferociously toward the now-smaller black orb. As long as he made contact, he could take another bite.

’The taste of devouring a Primordial Spirit is just too good,’ he thought. ’The exquisite flavor is beyond words.’

”Young one, wait! Have you truly mastered Celestial Might?” Demon King Liu’s voice trembled as he hastily dodged, no longer daring to confront him head-on.

”Stop dodging! You’ll find out for sure if you just let me hit you again!”

Within the sea of consciousness, the shining orb pursued the black one. Tu Xiao’an had no intention of letting a scheming bastard like Demon King Liu escape. Attempting to possess his body was a blood feud.

It was worse than being killed.

Every crash was another bite, and Demon King Liu shrieked incessantly. The Celestial Power made the shining orb unstoppable.

Demon King Liu regretted his lack of information. Had he known his opponent wielded Celestial Power, he would never have dared to enter his sea of consciousness and attempt possession.

But it was too late for any of that now. There was no medicine for regret in this world.

Every time Demon King Liu was struck, Tu Xiao’an devoured another piece of him. The size of his Primordial Spirit had already shrunk by a third.

”I don’t want your body anymore! I’ll leave, I’ll leave!”

Demon King Liu’s Primordial Spirit was now only the size of a child’s fist, and he was in a complete panic.

”What do you think my body is, a hotel? You think you can come and go as you please? Since you’re already here, you can stay forever!”

Tu Xiao’an’s shining orb grew larger and larger—a direct benefit of devouring his opponent’s Primordial Spirit. His Consciousness Power would also become terrifyingly strong.

”Young one, don’t be so absolute! If you try to devour my Primordial Spirit completely, believe me, I’ll take you down with me! I will self-destruct my Primordial Spirit in your sea of consciousness!” Demon King Liu threatened.

As the chase continued, the two orbs, one large and one small, kept shouting.

”Hmph. I’ll have devoured your Primordial Spirit long before you get the chance to self-destruct!” Tu Xiao’an’s shining orb split open a great maw and bit down relentlessly, vowing not to stop until Demon King Liu’s black orb was gone.

.....

Outside, in the Blood Pool, Luo Ziyun’s stunningly beautiful face was deathly pale. She had heard Tu Xiao’an scream in agony before he lost consciousness.

He had been completely submerged in the bloody water. If she hadn’t hastily pulled him out, he might have drowned.

But even now, Tu Xiao’an’s condition was no better than if he had drowned. He showed no reaction at all, as if he were in a vegetative state.

”Xiao’an, what’s wrong? Please, don’t scare me!” Luo Ziyun had no idea why he had suddenly reacted as if he’d hit a Demon Barrier. No matter how she called his name, he didn’t respond.

Luo Ziyun couldn’t find the cause, nor could she wake him. She was frantic with worry, like an ant on a hot pan. But then, suddenly, the mark on Tu Xiao’an’s forehead shaped like the character for ”King” began to flash.

A tiny black orb shot out from it, hovering in the air above the Blood Pool.

Immediately, Luo Ziyun trembled, utterly stunned. The tiny black orb shifted and transformed, taking on the appearance of her adoptive father, Demon King Liu.

Except his form was tiny, like a miniature person.

”Yan’Er, quickly, save your father! I’m about to die!”

Upon hearing his words, Luo Ziyun froze as if turned to stone. Her mind short-circuited, unable to process the sudden turn of events. She felt as though she’d been struck by lightning, leaving her in a dazed stupor.

The next moment, the unconscious Tu Xiao’an also awoke. His eyes snapped open, shooting out a brilliant light as dazzling as the bright moon, making it impossible to look at him directly.

”Demon King Liu, your time is up! Even if you escaped, you will die without a doubt!” Tu Xiao’an’s Killing Intent surged like a gale. Flames erupted from his body and, with a wave of his hand, he commanded, ”Burn!”

WHOOSH...

A torrent of flames swept through the air, completely surrounding the miniature figure of Demon King Liu and trapping him in a Sea of Fire to be burned on the spot.

With nowhere to run, Demon King Liu’s Primordial Spirit could only be trapped and burned alive, letting out a ghastly scream like that of a Ghost.

”Yan’Er, save me! Save your father!”

”Father!” Luo Ziyun finally snapped out of it. Though she didn’t understand the full story, she couldn’t stand by and watch her adoptive father in peril. Her Jade Hand struck out toward the torrent of flames, space itself twisting as she tried to scatter them.

But the flames seemed frozen in the air, refusing to scatter from her palm strike. Luo Ziyun’s almond-shaped eyes flew wide. She yelled at Tu Xiao’an, ”Xiao’an, what are you doing? Stop! That’s my adoptive father! That’s Demon King Liu!”

Drenched in killing intent, Tu Xiao’an spoke in a cold, flat voice. ”The person I’m killing *is* that scumbag, Demon King Liu. Do you have any idea what he just did to me? His Primordial Spirit entered my body to possess me.”

”Possession?” Hearing this, her face instantly turned pale with disbelief.

Tu Xiao’an continued, ”Ziyan, that adoptive father of yours is rotten to the core. He’s been lying to you this whole time. There’s no such thing as the Path of Reincarnation! He hid his Primordial Spirit in a drop of Essence Blood and used the Ten Thousand Blood Pool to nourish it, all so he could possess a new Snake King in the future. It was all just a plot!”

”How can that be possible...” Luo Ziyun whispered, looking utterly lost as her beautiful eyes slowly widened.

”If you don’t believe me, ask him yourself right now.”

Luo Ziyun didn’t ask. She took a deep breath, glanced at Demon King Liu howling in agony within the flames, and then said to Tu Xiao’an, ”Xiao’an, regardless of anything else, just stop for now.”

”You’re still telling me to stop? I was almost possessed! I almost died! If I didn’t realize you were in the dark, I’d get rid of you right along with him!” Tu Xiao’an was furious. ’This foolish woman has been deceived for five hundred years, and she’s not even angry?’

’Should I just leave a scheming bastard like that in the world to harm others?’

”Tu Xiao’an, I told you to stop! Did you not hear me?!”

Luo Ziyun shrieked, her face ashen and her explosive Fury plain to see. Her shoulders trembled violently, her voice began to crack, and a terrifying aura erupted from her, throwing the entire space of the Ten Thousand Blood Pool into chaos.

”And what if I don’t stop?” Tu Xiao’an’s handsome face darkened. What he hated most were scumbags who used underhanded tricks.

He’d originally had a rather good impression of Demon King Liu. The man was hailed as the number one expert of the Yaoling Mountain Range, and since they were both Snakes, Tu Xiao’an had felt a natural sense of kinship.

When Demon King Liu manifested in the Blood Pool, the things he’d said to Tu Xiao’an had made him sound like a benevolent elder. Yet, in the blink of an eye, he had tried to possess his body.

That fucking bastard had played him for a complete fool.

”Yan’Er, save your father! I can’t hold on much longer!” Demon King Liu wailed again and again.

His tiny form was already beginning to emit black smoke as it burned in the flames.

SHING...!

A Treasure Sword, gleaming with a cold light, appeared in Luo Ziyun’s hand. Her exquisite face was as cold as Frost, inspiring a dreadful awe. Through gritted teeth, she said, ”If you still won’t stop, then I won’t be so courteous.”

Tu Xiao’an looked at her Treasure Sword and felt the powerful aura erupting from her. His eyes filled with disappointment. ”Is he really that important to you? So important that you’d turn on me over him?”

”He’s my adoptive father.”

”And being your adoptive father gives him the right to possess my body?” A cold glint flashed through Tu Xiao’an’s eyes. The more he spoke, the angrier he became, enraged that Luo Ziyun would side with Demon King Liu so unconditionally. He roared, ”Celestial Fire Burning!”

BOOM...!

The temperature in the Ten Thousand Blood Pool instantly skyrocketed, and the very air was boiled into vapor.

”No, I don’t want to die! I, Demon King Liu, haven’t even become a Rank Four Divine Spirit yet! No...!”

As the terrifying Celestial Fire appeared, Demon King Liu’s already extremely weak Primordial Spirit could no longer hold on. With a soft PUFF, a faint green light flashed once and was extinguished, dissipating into a few wisps of black smoke that vanished into the flames.

And just like that, the most powerful Demon King in the entire Yaoling Mountain Range vanished completely from the world, his Primordial Spirit annihilated.

”Father... Father, no...!”

As Luo Ziyun watched this scene, it felt as if her entire world was collapsing. The moment the Celestial Fire appeared, Demon King Liu’s residual Primordial Spirit disintegrated. It all happened too fast—so fast she didn’t even have time to react.
