Invincible Snake Emperor

Chapter 463: Chapter 458: Battle Companion Fusion, Part 2

What was most infuriating was that Tu Xiao’an couldn’t even summon his strongest War Servant, the Level 37 Demon Director.

’If that old monster were here, even if he couldn’t defeat the White Demon King, buying me a day’s time would be absolutely no problem.’

He had to find a countermeasure, and fast. Otherwise, the Bull Demon King was going to be beaten to death. Panicked, Tu Xiao’an could only turn to his system.

”System, is there any way to raise the Bull Demon King’s Level by one?”

’Right now, the only way is to get the Bull Demon King to the true Demon King Level.’

System: ”Grant a Divine Beast Bloodline.”

Tu Xiao’an’s eyes lit up. ’That’s right! I can go into the system and choose a free Divine Beast Bloodline to give the Bull Demon King.’

But the problem was that granting a Divine Beast Bloodline didn’t cause an immediate surge in power. It still required time to evolve.

The Rank 3 Hu Snake, in its evolution into a Cyan Dragon, had turned into a giant egg that was still waiting to hatch.

This was clearly not a viable solution; it wouldn’t solve his immediate problem. Once the Divine Beast Bloodline was granted, the Bull Demon King would certainly fall into a deep sleep.

During this time, Tu Xiao’an had also been secretly trying to summon Celestial Master Zhang, hoping he would hatch from the giant egg soon.

’If Celestial Master Zhang were to emerge as a Cyan Dragon, his power would surge, and maybe he could help me stop the White Demon King.’

Unfortunately, the giant egg in the system showed no reaction whatsoever. It had no intention of hatching.

”System, is there any other way? Anything that can help me block the White Demon King’s attacks?” Tu Xiao’an’s current situation was truly perilous.

Tu Xiao’an racked his brain, recalling all the tools at his disposal. Since he couldn’t show himself, he could only rely on his Battle Companions.

But his other Battle Companions weren’t powerful enough yet, and the Bull Demon King couldn’t hold out alone.

”Host has successfully completed the Tribulation. Authority has been upgraded. The Super Battle Companion Fusion Evolution function can now be activated. Battle Companions will fuse and their power will surge.”

Huh...?

Upon hearing this, Tu Xiao’an gasped. ’There’s a crazy ability like this?’

’If the Battle Companions can fuse... if my three Super level Creatures combine... what kind of terrifying Exotic Beast will be the result?’

A Peacock, a cat, and a snake, all fused into one. Tu Xiao’an couldn’t even begin to imagine what that would look like.

These three Super level Creatures were extraordinary, their combat prowess immense. If they could really fuse, he was confident the result would have the power to stall the White Demon King.

”System, is this fusion evolution temporary or permanent?”

System: ”Temporary for different species, permanent for the same species. As a consequence, once a fusion between different species ends, the Level of each participating creature will drop by one.”

Tu Xiao’an smiled when he heard that. ’That’s a reasonable setup.’

’My three Super level Creatures are all different species. Losing one Level is no big deal. I have to solve the immediate crisis first.’

”Activate the Super Battle Companion Fusion Evolution function?”

”Activate it now!”

The situation was desperate, as if the city gates had been breached. The Bull Demon King was in grave danger; he had to be switched out immediately.

The bull had already done more than enough.

”Please select the creatures for fusion evolution.”

Tu Xiao’an said, ”Immortal Spirit Peacock Azure Owl, Golden Pupils, and the Three-headed Evil Snake. A three-way fusion evolution.”

’For a fusion evolution, the creatures must have the same bloodline and lineage to be compatible. These three are all Super level Creatures. If they fused...’ Tu Xiao’an couldn’t help but feel a thrill of excitement.

He eagerly anticipated what kind of terrifying monster would emerge from the evolution.

”DING... Fusion failed. The selected creatures must have equal bloodlines and equal Levels.”

What!

Tu Xiao’an was stunned. Only then did he remember that Azure Owl’s Level was one lower than the other two.

”System, if two Super level Creatures fuse, what level of power will they reach?”

”The level of a Rank Three Demon Spirit.”

”That’s not enough. All three have to fuse together.”

Against the White Demon King, a Demon Spirit Level creature was completely outmatched. The fusion would be pointless.

In that case, Tu Xiao’an had to raise Azure Owl’s Level to 27 first.

While he couldn’t raise the Bull Demon King’s Level by one, raising Azure Owl’s by one was something he could at least try.

After all, Azure Owl was only at Rank Two.

At that moment, Tu Xiao’an looked toward the battle. The Bull Demon King was covered from head to toe in wounds, with blood gushing from them, but he was still holding his ground desperately, refusing to let any of the White Demon King’s attacks get past him.

The few attacks that did get through were blocked by the three Super level Creatures behind him.

But blocking the White Demon King’s attacks came at a price. The three little companions were all injured to varying degrees.

As one of the five great Demon Kings, the White Demon King had its pride and its principles. It hadn’t taken a single step from the very beginning, relying solely on ranged attacks.

It didn’t seem to be in any hurry, as if it were deliberately torturing the Bull Demon King.

’Hang in there, my bull. Your master will have you switched out soon.’

”Sweetheart, come here.” Tu Xiao’an’s voice appeared in the Immortal Spirit Peacock’s mind.

Azure Owl paused, then immediately flew toward the flickering light beneath the towering ancient tree. Her Nine-Colored Feathers were a mess and had dimmed considerably.

”You bad guy! You’d better pay me back for my feathers!”

During the fight, Azure Owl had also blocked a few of the white beams of light shot from the distance, and she was not lightly injured.

Tu Xiao’an’s heart ached for them. He was really putting his Battle Companions through the wringer. They were only Rank Two, yet they had to face a Demon King Level foe. They were all taking the fall for him.

”Alright, your master will make it up to you.”

Suddenly, a large pile of bright red Snakeberries appeared beneath the ancient tree, along with many pieces of Snake Skin that shimmered with pure Energy.

”Quick, eat as much as you can!”

Tu Xiao’an was going to force-feed Azure Owl to raise her Level.

When Azure Owl saw so many Snakeberries and pieces of Snake Skin, her eyes lit up. She wasn’t about to be polite. With a peck of her beak, she began to gobble them up like they were snacks.

As she ate, Azure Owl’s dim Nine-Colored Feathers began to glow brightly once more, becoming dazzlingly beautiful.

Tu Xiao’an waited anxiously. He was desperate for Azure Owl to break through. The moment she did, the three Super level Creatures would immediately fuse.

The problem was that while Azure Owl ate with great gusto, her aura showed no signs of surging.

’This is a problem.’ After all, Azure Owl was now Level 26 and had only just broken through after eating the flesh of a Demon Spirit. Getting her to level up again so soon would be no easy feat.

It seemed his Snakeberries and Snake Skins were a bit lacking; they didn’t provide enough Energy.

”Charlie, quick! Drop a few Vermilion Spirit Fruits!” Tu Xiao’an suddenly yelled.

The Tree Spirit’s Level had already risen to 29. Its fruits now contained more Energy and were much more effective.

”Okay!” The Tree Spirit knew this was a critical moment. Now was not the time for chatter; whatever its master said, it would do.

The leaves of the towering ancient tree began to RUSTLE, as if singing an ode to autumn. They fell like a flurry of snowflakes, but not a single fruit dropped.

Tu Xiao’an’s face darkened. ”...”

”Charlie, is it possible you misunderstood what your master said?”

’I fucking told you to drop fruit, and you give me a fucking carpet of leaves? They’re covering the whole ground!’

Looking constipated, the Tree Spirit said grievously, ”Master, Charlie is trying his best! I can’t even poop one out!”

Azure Owl was dumbfounded. ’Even if you fucking poop it out, I, the great Peacock, am not eating it!’

Tu Xiao’an felt like he was losing his mind. He had forgotten about this tree’s bizarre quirk. He said to Azure Owl, ”Sweetheart, go help Charlie... loosen his bark.”

Azure Owl perked up. This was a job she would enjoy.

Just then, a beam of white light shot from the distance and slammed directly into the massive tree trunk.

In an instant, the sky-blotting, ancient tree leaped into the air, hopping high off the ground. Its leaves fluttered down like rain as it let out a pained, mournful RUSTLE.

”Ouch! Ouch! It’s killing Ben Charlie!”

THUMP... THUMP... THUMP...

Five reddish-white Vermilion Spirit Fruits, brimming with pure Energy, fell to the ground. Tu Xiao’an was overjoyed. The White Demon King’s attack had inadvertently done him a huge favor.

”Sweetheart, quick, eat!”

Did Azure Owl even need Tu Xiao’an to tell her? Upon seeing the Vermilion Spirit Fruits, she began to eat with absolute delight.

Tu Xiao’an grew tense. ”Level up, level up now! If you don’t, my Guardian Divine Ox is really going to become a dead ox!”

He could feel the Bull Demon King’s life force fading rapidly; he was on his last breath. If the White Demon King hadn’t been deliberately toying with him, he’d likely be dead already.

As Azure Owl swallowed the fruits one by one, a sudden change occurred the moment she ate the fifth Vermilion Spirit Fruit. Her entire body erupted in a brilliant Nine-Colored Divine Light. She struck a magnificent pose as a clear, phoenix-like cry rang out.

”DING... Congratulations. Host’s Immortal Spirit Peacock has successfully been promoted to Level 27.”

Success.

Tu Xiao’an roared, ”System, initiate the Super Battle Companion Fusion Evolution!”
