Invincible Snake Emperor

Chapter 46: Chapter 46: The Killer Bee’s Weakness

Just as Tu Xiao’an, in his venomous snake form, was covertly observing the wasp nest, a three-centimeter wasp appeared from nowhere, buzzing above his head.

The sound was like an alarm. Instantly, the swarm of wasps in the cypress tree noticed the Silver White Snake on the ground.

’I’ve been spotted.’

Tu Xiao’an gave a bitter smile. It didn’t matter; he hadn’t made any special effort to hide himself anyway.

The wasp sounding the alarm over his head was likely a scout, tasked with immediately issuing a warning upon spotting an enemy.

BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ...

The wasp darted back and forth above Tu Xiao’an’s head, letting out piercing screeches without any fear of being attacked.

’So you’re picking on me because I can’t fly, huh?’

Tu Xiao’an’s Snake Pupils watched the noisy wasp coldly. His eyes narrowed, and the wasp above him suddenly went rigid, as if seized by a pair of formless hands, unable to move.

’Collect.’

A ripple of spatial energy spread out, and the scout wasp vanished without a trace.

In an instant, the swarm of wasps in the cypress tree was stunned. Where did their scout go?

BUZZ...

BUZZ...

BUZZ...

Instantly, a dozen or so wasps flew down from the cypress tree, surrounding Tu Xiao’an, the venomous snake. The Wasp King watched him coldly from beside the nest.

A mere venomous snake dared to trespass on their wasp territory. It was simply courting death.

While a venomous snake might be a silent killer in the forest, it was nearly helpless against flying creatures. This was especially true for wasps, which were fast and could sting. Taking on a limbless snake was no challenge at all.

’Come out, my Killer Bee.’

With a thought from Tu Xiao’an, the Killer Bee, clad in its Golden Battle Armor, made a dazzling entrance. It looked majestic, an intimidating aura flowing around it.

The Killer Bee had a ferocious temperament. The moment it appeared, it lunged at a wasp. With its ten-centimeter body and terrifying presence, the wasp was bitten to death before it could even react.

Immediately after, the Killer Bee ignored the other dozen or so wasps and began to eat happily.

Seeing one of their own taken out and brazenly devoured by this special kind of bee in plain sight, the wasp swarm in the cypress tree erupted into an uproar.

This was a total slap in the face. The Wasp King let out a sharp shriek that shot toward the heavens, and the dozen or so wasps surrounding Tu Xiao’an immediately turned to attack the Killer Bee.

Tu Xiao’an glanced over. It was thirteen against one.

His Killer Bee was fearless, ready to wreak havoc. Tu Xiao’an also wanted to get a good look at his Killer Bee’s combat prowess.

The Killer Bee’s abdomen curled up slightly. Pointing at one of the wasps, as if it were breaking wind, it abruptly shot out an incredibly fine stinger.

SHOO...!

It was almost too fast for the naked eye to see. The targeted wasp shrieked and plummeted from the sky, dying instantly.

One was taken down just like that.

SHOO SHOO SHOO...!

Stingers shot out continuously from the Killer Bee’s body. One by one, wasps fell from the sky. Tu Xiao’an was getting a little excited watching it.

The Killer Bee he’d evolved was just too powerful. It could shoot stingers from its body that killed enemies instantly on impact. It was simply monstrous.

Forget wasps, three of those stingers hitting a person could take a human life.

A single Killer Bee could shoot ten stingers. In just a short while, ten wasps were taken down in this bizarre manner.

The thirteen-to-one battle instantly became three-to-one. With the Killer Bee’s enhancements, even in close combat, three wasps couldn’t do much damage to it.

But suddenly, without any warning, the Killer Bee slipped from the air and fell to the ground, motionless.

Tu Xiao’an, who had been enjoying the show, was completely baffled. ’What’s happening?’

”Ding... The Killer Bee has expended all of its internal stingers. It is now deceased.”

The system’s voice appeared in Tu Xiao’an’s mind. He was utterly astonished.

’Automatic death? What the hell?’

’It died just because it shot all ten of its stingers?’

Tu Xiao’an really hadn’t known about this fatal weakness. In the beginning, the system had only said that the Killer Bee contained ten stingers; it never mentioned that it would die after using them all up.

Ugh!

Tu Xiao’an was speechless. His Killer Bee hadn’t died at the hands of the enemy—it had basically committed suicide. This was just ridiculous.

The three surviving wasps were also completely baffled. With their limited intelligence, they couldn’t possibly comprehend what the hell had just happened.

After his bout of speechlessness, Tu Xiao’an slowly came to terms with it. Even the most powerful Martial Arts Masters had their own fatal flaws.

The Killer Bee was a fusion of a honeybee and a wasp. This fatal weakness was very similar to a honeybee’s. If a honeybee stings something, it dies when the stinger leaves its body.

His Killer Bee relied on its ten stingers. Once all ten were shot, its life came to an end.

But if it had kept even one stinger inside, it probably wouldn’t have died.

’That Killer Bee was kind of a cute idiot, wasn’t it? It didn’t know to save one for itself. It must have gotten carried away with the thrill of shooting.’

Just as Tu Xiao’an was lost in thought, a massive swarm of wasps descended from the cypress tree, surrounding the Silver White Snake on the ground. Their eyes gleamed with malice, as if they wanted nothing more than to grind the snake to dust.

In the space of a few breaths, Tu Xiao’an was completely surrounded by wasps. The dense buzzing was enough to make one’s skin crawl, and they blotted out the light from above, plunging the area into darkness.

The Wasp King didn’t care how that Killer Bee had died. It only knew that ten of its subordinates had been killed, and another scout had mysteriously vanished.

SKREEE...

Following the Wasp King’s long shriek, a good hundred or so wasps surrounded Tu Xiao’an tightly, as if afraid he would escape.

Tu Xiao’an simply watched the wasps’ movements in silence, holding his head high and remaining perfectly still. Inwardly, he was overjoyed. ’Aren’t they just delivering themselves right to my system’s doorstep?’

’What did I come here for today? To capture more wasps for evolution, of course. This Wasp King is so thoughtful, sending its little brothers right to me.’

Over a hundred wasps was a very large formation. Wasps weren’t like honeybees; a single one could chase a person down, and getting stung was no joke.

For them to mobilize such a large force against a single venomous snake was, in a way, a sign of respect for Tu Xiao’an.

But the swarm seemed to possess a bit of pride. The hundred-odd wasps didn’t charge all at once. Instead, only a small contingent moved.

A dozen or so wasps swooped toward Tu Xiao’an, their chewing mouthparts grinding in anticipation. It was as if they could already see this damned snake being torn to pieces.

’If we can’t bite you to death, we’ll sting you to death.’

’What can a limbless snake possibly do?’

Tu Xiao’an shook his head. He didn’t summon another Killer Bee to face them, because he was here to capture, not to kill.

He just glanced at the dozen or so approaching wasps. In an instant, they vanished into thin air, without a trace, as if they had never been there at all.

”Ding... Congratulations, Host, on successfully capturing 15 Level 2 Wasps. You have received 150 Energy Value.”

’Hehe,’ he thought. ’That’s enough Energy Value to evolve another Killer Bee, with 50 points left over.’
