The Modern Martial Immortal

Chapter 186: The Psyche Kingdom

Less than a minute after Yaoguang relayed the message through Tang Fenghua, his communication wristband vibrated. At the same time, Yaoguang sensed a faint ripple spreading through the Void Psychic World, as though a Dharma Form had cast its gaze in this direction.

His heart stirred. While connecting the call, he followed the fluctuations of the transmission and probed into the Void Psychic World. He soon discovered hundreds of signals of similar level, each closely resembling the one he was connected to. In the process, even more similar signals were being generated and released.

That Dharma Form clearly could not track all of them at once, and instead followed an incorrect signal. The source of the signals lay with a Heavenly Palace cultivator high above the nine heavens. A Heavenly Palace cultivator was providing cover for the owner of this signal.

Just then, Li Qingshan’s voice rang out, snapping Yaoguang out of the psychic-thought skirmish he had been tracking.

—Hall Master Yaoguang?

”Sorry. I got distracted watching the spectacle.”

—What spectacle?

He turned his gaze to the sect master. ”That is exactly the intelligence I wanted to discuss with you, Sect Master Li.”

Over this period of interaction, a certain level of trust had already formed between them. Even things that were usually considered sensitive now felt fit to be disclosed.

He cut to the chase. ”I am sure you have a clear understanding of my experiences in the Yaoguang World during this time, and that I once came into contact with a Lunar Fiend.”

Li Qingshan laughed.

—Hall Master Yaoguang, are you worried that we suspect you of being a member of the Lunar Fiend Empire? The Jiang family and the Xie family only suspected that out of ignorance.

—They had no idea how talented one could be, and labeled what they could not fathom as demons, fiends, ghosts, or monsters. In reality, achieving high-tier body cultivation within two or three years like you in a vassal world is rare, but not unprecedented.

—Besides, many hall masters have interacted closely with you, and none detected anything abnormal. That proves you’re human. If you could deceive all of us that closely, your methods would far exceed ours. If you meant us harm, we’d be powerless to stop you.

Yaoguang shrugged. ”It seems like I don’t have to explain much, then. I believe the talent I displayed during the battle of Longxiang City felt familiar to you?”

Li Qingshan froze for a moment, then quickly realized what Yaoguang meant. His pupils constricted.

—You mean...

Yaoguang summarized it, ”Basically, I used clues I once obtained from a Lunar Fiend to acquire a spirit treasure. It is a top-tier spirit treasure suitable for Dharma Form cultivators!”

Li Qingshan stared at him.

—A Dharma Form spirit treasure? Did you rely on this spirit treasure to produce similar effects to the Void Psychic World?!

”Yes.” Yaoguang nodded. ”This spirit treasure is more extraordinary than the Void Psychic World. My artifact refinement skills also progressed rapidly thanks to it.”

A strange light filled Li Qingshan’s eyes.

—It must be the Origin World! Once, the Artifact Sect mobilized the entire sect to forge the supreme treasure to contend with the Lunar Fiend Empire.

Yaoguang was momentarily taken aback. ”The Origin World?”

The sect master’s voice grew heavy.

—Yes! Do you know why the Artifact Sect became the first target of the Lunar Fiend Empire? It’s because they gradually realized the limitations of the Lunar Fiends, who focus solely on psyche cultivation.

—As such, they planned to refine a powerful spirit treasure capable of defeating the Lunar Fiend Empire. The preparations were far too broad, and the news leaked out, bringing catastrophic destruction upon the Artifact Sect.

He looked at Yaoguang with emotion.

—I once thought this was nothing more than distorted rumors passed down by later generations. But after hearing your description, it is very likely true. They had completed the Origin World. The Lunar Fiend Empire seized it, and after their defeat, it ended up in your hands.

For a moment, Yaoguang did not know what to say. When he had chosen to reveal some of his abilities, he had already prepared for the worst. One could never be too cautious. And if the Nine-Cauldron Sect truly harbored malicious intent, they certainly would not kill him before obtaining this treasure, which would give him sufficient time to turn the situation around.

He never expected Li Qingshan to side with him.

Yaoguang glanced at Li Qingshan, only to see the sect master suddenly think of something else.

—The matter of the Origin World is of utmost importance. I won’t even hesitate to say that such a spirit treasure equals half a Dharma Form cultivator. Aside from a very small number of core personnel, we must never disclose this to anyone else. If anyone asks, push the matter onto me.

Yaoguang nodded.

Li Qingshan exhaled softly.

—So, what exactly does this spirit treasure do?

”I will not speak of the inheritance involved,” Yaoguang replied. ”This spirit treasure can function as a Void Psychic World. At the very least, from now on, the Heavenly Palace cultivators no longer have to set up elaborate diversions for the sect’s core communications.”

He paused briefly before adding, ”When necessary, it can also form an absolute blockade over psychic-thought information across an entire region. It can even twist or alter it, just like the Void Psychic World.”

Li Qingshan could not hide his joy.

—Good! Good! Good! This is truly excellent! I thought you contacted me because you have finished improvising the level 6 spirit-gathering array. I never imagined you would bring me such a big surprise.

His voice carried deep emotion.

—Did you know? The Infinite Star Palace, Thousand-Beast Sect, and Immortal Alliance have never loosen their information surveillance over us. Only a handful of top figures can directly coordinate with the Heavenly Palace cultivators to ensure information security. They can steal everyone else’s communications whenever they want.

—Even the disguises set up by the Heavenly Palace cultivators are not foolproof. Some information still carries the risk of exposure. Yet despite knowing this, we have no solution due to the lack of Dharma Form cultivators.

Yaoguang nodded in understanding. The top experts of the three major sects were indeed watching the Nine-Cauldron Sect constantly. In fact, they monitored all communications across Cangwu. Such was the ability of Dharma Form cultivators.

That was also why the Sun-Moon Peak incident had caused such a massive shock throughout the Great Cangwu World. The loss of hundreds of thousands of lives was part of the reason. Another reason was the Infinite Star Palace’s failure to detect the incident early or issue a warning, preventing it from being nipped in the bud.

Li Qingshan showed no hesitation.

—I will have the regional heads connect to the Void Psychic World right away. Only core leaders are permitted to connect to the Void Psychic World because the impact of this matter is too great. If word were to spread, the Infinite Star Palace would inevitably tighten its blockade against us.

Yaoguang smiled faintly. ”In fact, this is the true intelligence I’ve been meaning to give you. That’s why I bothered explaining the spirit treasure to begin with. As you said, this spirit treasure rivals half a Dharma Form cultivator, so it can naturally accomplish things that only those cultivators are capable of. I’ve monitored and analyzed the Infinite Star Palace’s entire surveillance. Their involvement in war is not speculation, but fact.”

He said confidently, ”For the next ten or twenty years, the Infinite Star Palace will be preoccupied with the Black Feather Sect, which is backed by the remnants of the Northern Alliance.”

Li Qingshan murmured the number, his gaze gradually brightening.

—Ten to twenty years?!

It wasn’t long by cultivators’ standards, but it was critical for the Nine-Cauldron Sect, which was already showing signs of revival.

With ten to twenty years of uninterrupted growth, they could not only restore the Ten Great Immortal Sects to their former glory, but also potentially reclaim the East Sea islands and the Shiwan Mountains.

Li Qingshan made his decision almost instantly.

—Good! This is truly the best news I have received all year. In that case, we can act far more boldly in the East Sea.

—However, the matter of your spirit treasure should be kept a secret for now. Our greatest competitor in the East Sea is the Great Sun Sword Sect, with their two Sky Patrol Warships. Perhaps we can use the power of this spirit treasure to strike them from the shadows. If all goes well, we could wipe out their East Sea forces entirely in one decisive battle.

Yaoguang nodded. ”Sure.”

Of course, the Great Sun Sword Sect had more than just a pair of Sky Patrol Warships. In fact, it had six of them. Four were second-generation warships, while the newly built ones were third-generation. Of these six, two were deployed in the East Sea: the second-generation warship Spring Rain and the third-generation warship Vajra.

Although Vajra met the third-generation standard, its cultivators and equipment still lagged behind the Infinite Star Palace’s third-generation warships. Even so, it remained the strongest pillar within the East Sea. Li Qingshan obviously intended to take advantage of the Void Psychic World to trap those warships in the East Sea.

—I will have the Heavenly Palace cultivators notify the various halls and regional leaders one by one, and then you can coordinate with them...

”That won’t be necessary. This spirit treasure has a form of delegated authority. I can transfer part of its permissions to you. Then, you can simply draw them into its Void Psychic World,” Yaoguang said. ”We can conceal the true location of the spirit treasure better this way.”

Li Qingshan was pleasantly surprised.

—Can it actually do that? Good. Transfer the authority to me as soon as possible. Rest assured, aside from the supreme elder, there will never be a fourth person who knows about this spirit treasure.

”Of course I trust you, Sect Master.”

Yaoguang sensed the Dao Fruit formed after the Psyche Dao branch had broken through to the Dharma Form Realm.

It was called the Psyche Kingdom. Its functions were similar to those of the Void Psychic World, only far more complete. Within it existed a function known as Psyche Delegate. Those acknowledged by the lord of the Psyche Kingdom as Psyche Delegates could call upon a portion of the Psyche Kingdom’s authority and power.
