Chapter 622: Nivis Joins the Battle

Nivis revealed a look of utter repulsion upon hearing his words.

She raised her hand and used her powers to summon hundreds of water arrows.

As soon as the water arrows materialized, she controlled them at will and shot them at the cult leader.

Suu! Suu! Suu! Suu!

The water arrows moved with lightning speed, not giving Kim Chon-jae the chance to react.

However, just as they were about to strike his body, Kim Chon-jae lifted his right hand and clenched it into a fist.

After making this gesture, a dark sphere suddenly wrapped around him, blocking the water arrows completely.

When the water arrows struck the dark sphere, they instantly evaporated and turned into mists.

Hiss! Hiss! Hiss!

Seeing this, Nivis frowned, but she didnʼt stop her attacks. She continued to release stronger water arrows.

Suu! Suu! Suu!

Kim Chon-jae remained calm. He raised his hand and injected mana into the dark sphere to increase its defensive power.

Nivisʼs water arrows didnʼt even leave a mark on the dark sphere. This made the proud centauress furious. She unleashed a terrifying burst of mana and summoned thousands of water javelins. They were far stronger than the water arrows she released earlier.

The Venerables could sense the strong fluctuations of mana coming from the water javelins.

”Can she damage it?” Alaric muttered as he watched the battle.

The other Venerables were muted, surprised at the sight. The unexpected appearance of Nivis stunned them.

In the next moment, Nicis motioned with her hands and released the water javelins.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

This time, Kim Chon-jae didnʼt dare place his trust in the defensive abilities of the dark sphere. Even he could feel the threat from the water javelins.

He controlled the dark sphere to evade Nivisʼs attack. He moved like a mirage under the barrage of water javelins.

Some javelins struck his dark sphere and left deep scratches that took a few seconds to heal.

This woman is dangerous, more so than Yskaela!

He realized that the blue-haired woman was a much bigger threat than the empress.

I need to kill her first!

Thinking about this, he adjusted his stance and gathered mana into his short sword. He then charged at Nivis with ghostly movements.

Seeing his unusual footwork, Nivis sneered. ”That fancy footwork wonʼt work on me!”

She controlled waterʼs power and summoned a large wave that washed over the cult leader.

Kim Chon-jae took an abrupt halt and swung his sword, cleaving a path under the giant mass of water.

Whoosh!

With another sword strike, he released a devastating force that threatened to tear through the entire mountain.

This time, the empress and the other Venerables finally took action. They couldnʼt let Nivis handle it alone.

Using their domains, they struck with monumental force.

When their powers collided, a violent storm erupted on the mountain, sweeping out the trees and the greenery.

Boom!

The collision of powers created a violent sonic boom that pushed back the Venerables.

Alaric frowned, shielding his eyes from the dust using his mana.

The mountain had already become a ruined land. The trees had been toppled and there was almost no greenery to be found.

Did we get him?

”Watch out above you!” The empress shouted in alarm.

Alaric and the others quickly looked up and saw the cult leader swinging his sword at an unnatural angle.

”Leave this to me!” Gritting his teeth, the Grand Commander took the front and used his weapon to deflect the cult leaderʼs attack.

Clang!

”Now! Do it!” The Grand Commander yelled, blood leaking out from the corner of his lips.

The empress and the other Venerables immediately took the opportunity to strike the cult leader.

They unleashed a flurry of attacks.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

For the first time since the battle began, Kim Chon-jae was pushed back. He was forced into a defensive under the relentless pressure from the combined attacks of the Venerables.

Tsk!

He clicked his tongue in annoyance.

He couldnʼt afford to go easy anymore. He tapped into his core to unleash a more powerful force.

His vast and immense aura was in full display, bringing about an overwhelming amount of mana that caused intense fluctuations in the air.

”Heʼs going all out! Use your strongest attacks! Donʼt hold back!” The empress urged the group.

Hearing her words, everyone released their full strength.

A violent and destructive clash followed as the cult leader fought with the group.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Meanwhile, in another part of the mountain, the old priest, Benedict, was fighting against Dominic and Leroy.

The old priest held the advantage in strength so the other two could only barely fight back.

”Leroy, summon it now! We might be killed if you hesitate any longer!” Dominic shouted with an urgent look.

”I know!” Leroy stomped the ground and called forth his tamed beast, the Mountain Golem.

Roaarr!!

A giant stone hand suddenly emerged from the ground as soon as Leroy issued his call. It made a grabbing motion as if intending to capture Benedict within its grasp.

The old priest furrowed his eyebrows and reacted almost instantaneously. He twisted his body in midair to avoid the grasp of the Mountain Golem.

So one of them has a tamed beast and itʼs one troublesome beast at that.

He stared at the Mountain Golem with wary eyes. The beast was only in the initial stages of the Catastrophe-grade, but he knew that it would be difficult to break through its tough armor.

With a snort, he summoned a dark spear and threw it towards the golem with terrifying force.

Whoosh!

The dark javelin tore through the air and struck the golemʼs chest.

Bang!

It was so fast that even Dominic and Leroy were unable to react.

When they recovered their senses, the golem had already received the damage.

A large portion of its chest was broken and it was tainted with the power of darkness. However, the potent lifeforce of the golem quickly healed this damage.

Seeing this, the old priest frowned.
