Starting With an SSS-Rank Swordsmanship Talent

Chapter 594: Rin Aspen

A figure appeared in front of Kangjeon Geum-hwa, blocking her sword, which was about to stab her target.

Clang!!

It was a middle-aged man with handsome facial features. He looked expressionless like a puppet with no emotion.

”Rin Aspen! Itʼs you!” A grim look flashed in Kangjeon Geum-hwaʼs eyes. She instinctively backed away while keeping her eyes on the newcomer.

Rin Aspen let out a smile. ”To think that I would see all the members of the Crimson Phoenix Knights Order.”

Sensing his invasive gaze, Kangjeon Geum-hwa was disgusted.

”You disgusting vermin! Where did you lock up Her Grace?!” She roared, her anger was evident.

”Do you mean that bitch, Park Sagwa?”

Rin Aspen grinned.

”I think that old man must be playing with her right now.”

Hearing this, Kangjeon Geum-hwa and the others were furious.

”What did you say?!”

Kangjeon Geum-hwa was about to charge when Bai Seol-hwa grabbed her shoulder.

”He is trying to get on your head. Control your emotions, Deputy Commander.”

Kangjeon Geum-hwa took a deep breath and nodded. It took her great effort to calm her agitation. ”I understand, Commander.”

Meanwhile, Alaric used his Appraisal on the man and was shocked to see his stats.

He is probably stronger than Bai Seol-hwa, but he isnʼt even the cult leader. Then just how strong is the leader of the heretic cult?

Alaric frowned the more he thought about it.

”Rin Aspen! Where is the duchess?” The empress appeared in front of Alaric, her cold voice echoing across the streets.

Rin Aspen smiled at the empress, seemingly unafraid of her. ”You have become more beautiful, Your Majesty.”

”Enough with your idle talk and answer my question!” The empress furrowed her eyebrows.

The heretic cultʼs despicable methods brought her immense fury. She could barely contain the anger in her heart.

Rin Aspen shrugged. ”I already told you, didnʼt I?”

He shook his head and added with a chuckle. ”Donʼt worry. You will get to see her soon.”

After saying those words, he grabbed the middle-aged Venerable and escaped into the alleys.

”Commander Bai, get your troops to chase them!” The empress commanded.

”Yes, Your Majesty!” Bai Seol-hwa sent a signal to the Crimson Phoenix Knights Order, mobilizing them to chase after the escaping enemy Venerables.

Alaric summoned Zephyr with a bird-like whistle. He then jumped onto its back and told it to chase the enemies.

”Follow them!”

While they were chasing Rin Aspen and the other Venerable, Min Taehyun temporarily took command of the Veronican army. He was also a Venerable so the army followed his orders without complaint.

…

”Changmin, didnʼt I tell you to wait for instructions before sending out your troops?!” Rin Aspen scolded his comrade with a glare.

They were now in a precarious situation because of this guyʼs whimsical decisions. If he werenʼt an important member of the cult, Rin Aspen would have already abandoned him.

Changmin chuckled awkwardly.

”I will deal with you later. If you donʼt want to die, then youʼd better run faster. A strong beast is chasing us.” Rin Aspen could sense the presence of the approaching monster.

Hearing this, Changmin immediately used his mana to increase his speed.

Roaarr!!

A mighty roar resounded above the sky.

Rin Aspen looked up and saw a huge draconic lion carrying a lone man.

He narrowed his eyes as he observed the figure standing on top of the creature.

That must be Alaric Silversword.

Suddenly, the draconic lion swooped down and spat out a burst of flames.

Whoosh!

Rin Aspen swung the demonic sword, extinguishing the flame that was headed in their direction.

Using its momentum, the draconic lion brandished its claws at them.

Roaar!!

Rin Aspen immediately swung the demonic sword to block its claws.

Clang!

At this moment, Alaric jumped off Zephyrʼs back and lunged at the weaker target, Changmin.

”Hold him off, Zephyr!” He shouted as he performed a downward slash with two swords.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

”How dare you underestimate me, kid!” Changmin snorted and deflected his swords with a couple of swings.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Alaric calmly waved his swords.

He has higher attributes than mine, but my swordsmanship is miles better. I also have the power of destruction.

He didnʼt immediately use the power of destruction. It would take a great amount of time to summon that power so he used his ice domain to hinder his opponentʼs movement.

The temperature dropped all of a sudden and the surrounding terrain gradually froze up.

”You are not the only one with a domain!” Seeing this, Changmin unleashed his own domain.

There were no visible changes in the surroundings, but Alaric sensed that the mana all over the city was converging towards his opponent.

This…

Could it be…

In his quest to find information about the destruction element, he discovered many kinds of unusual and unique domains.

Mana Domain!

This domain only had one effect and it was to give the summoner a near-unlimited amount of mana.

It was the perfect domain for Changmin who had the psychokenetic integrated monster trait.

As the mana converged around him, Changmin used his power to destroy the frozen terrain. He then controlled the destroyed ice fragments and threw them in Alaricʼs direction.

I canʼt control the ice that is under his psychokenetic influence.

Alaric frowned as he quickly summoned a wall of ice around him.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

It was like he was being bombarded with an unlimited number of artillery shells.

Seeing the ice wall cracking under the intense bombardment, Alaric summoned the ice warriors to confuse his opponent. He then adjusted his posture, preparing to use an ultimate sword technique at the right moment.

Changmin sneered upon seeing the ice warriors charging towards him. ”Is this your pathetic effort to buy yourself some time?”

With a few slashes of his sword, he destroyed the ice warriors. He then used his power to control the fragments of ice.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

When the ice wall broke apart, a blurry figure rushed out and pounced on Changmin.

It was Alaric. He used a sword technique to unleash a fatal strike against his opponent!

”Die!!”
