Reincarnated With The Van Helsing System

So, just as Lezabel stated, those minutes of meditation free of worries that Marcus had given to Daimon, actually allowed him to become stronger even without him obtaining a new energy nor increasing his realm, well, in part it is also because Arianna’s energy is the one Daimon can comprehend the fastest, due to its base being vitality.

”Damn it, what the hell is that, his battle avatar?”, mumbled Marcus after seeing the giant red wolf that appeared out of nowhere.

”You wish, that’s ”just” an agglomeration of one of those energies, basically it’s a whole bunch of vitality given form through the guidance of a lineage, not his but the one whom he obtained that red energy from~”, said the ghost-like administrator with a merry voice to then have a 180° change of attitude as she added.

”After all, if he was able to use his battle avatar you would have been cut in half right there”.

”Tsk, whatever to the me of right now, that would be but a minor wound anyway”, answered Marcus, that being said he couldn’t help but carefully evaluate that giant red wolf which was vanishing into nothingness right now by the way.

The red giant wolf looked solid and defined enough to pass as a battle avatar, though normally a battle avatar resembles its user and the more it does, the stronger and more advanced it usually is, this is not an absolute rule, similar to mages with their domains, some knights shape their battle avatars the way the want, but of course we are talking about geniuses among geniuses.

Only those talented exceptions who also train like there is no tomorrow, manage to obtain the ability to manipulate their Arch rank traits as they desire, like the undead head maid for example, of course there are tricks for this but the result is not close to the real deal.

As for the Lord rank trait, well, the only one that can manipulate it to exert qualities past what it should possess so far, is Daimon, at least that’s what Eve herself has affirmed.

”Royal Black Hell Step!”, Marcus legs exploded in black flames as he flashed towards Daimon, however just as he was about to reach him, the devil ruler system user was engulfed by a black portal.

With a ”swoosh”, Marcus vanished from Daimon’s senses before he reappeared at his left with his flaming gauntlet aiming at Daimon’s side.

”Clang!”, however, his clawed gauntlet was stopped by five giant red energy claws that seemed to emerge from Daimon’s side.

”What!”, Marcus was taken by surprise, he tried to apply force to push his claws to reach Daimon, but was forcefully dragged away by a giant red energy wolf that materialized out of Daimon’s body following the claws that had blocked Marcus’s attack.

”Arianna surely got quite a flexible technique”, said Daimon, the energy wolf could be manifested partially and out of any spot where there was strong vitality gathered, which means that Daimon can make it appear from any spot of his body, this should require a lot of practice though, but Daimon is used to cast from different areas than just his hands, so this was another Tuesday for him.

”Don’t get carried away you masked bastard!”, Marcus who was forced to retreat used his free left hand to punch the claws of the red giant wolf that had prevented his ambush from working.

”Crack!”, surprisingly enough, the punch from the devil ruler system user actually shattered the whole leg of the giant red wolf, as a proof of how strong his body had become.

”Mmm, I see, you couldn’t stop the wolf’s charge head on but your attacks do pack quite the impact, this boosted physique of yours is quite unbalanced”, concluded Daimon.

He was right, Marcus is an attack type mage, so of course he became an attack focused battle mage now, his physical defense also increased but in a much lower ratio, it was the black lion armor the one that boosted his defense instead.

”So what if you know it, both boosts have integrated into a single one anyway!”, shouted Marcus, one of the things he couldn’t stand about the masked silver haired youth, well, besides the fact that he is so outstanding as a ”normal” person, meaning that if he became a system user, he would completely overwhelm him, is that the enemy always easily saw through his faults.

”Royal Black Hell Explosive Fist!”, black flames burned on Marcus’s right hand as he punched the red giant wolf, blasting away half of its body while sending its remains flying into the distance.

But that was only a distraction, Marcus was engulfed by a black portal and this time appeared above Daimon who didn’t resort to the giant red golf this time, as the thing turning into red particles as it was released, suggested.

Instead, Daimon clenched his right hand into a fist, everything from Daimon’s right hand to the right side of his chest was clad in a dark copper colored energy armor, as he punched upwards.

”Clang!”, sparks flew all over the place as both fists collided, before the black lion armor covering Marcus’s gauntlets, forming his first line of defense… crumbled apart.

”Crack!”, Daimon’s fist which still had the copper energy armor covering it, directly clashed with Marcus’s burning gauntlet and blocked it, only after the devil ruler system user’s attack had exhausted its power, did the energy armor covering Daimon’s arm and chest crack, resulting in both being forced to retreat.

”Again!”, seeing Daimon closing and opening his right hand a couple of times, Marcus gritted his teeth, a moment ago he was able to gain the upper hand in a direct confrontation as he destroyed both the energy clad and the energy constructions of the masked silver haired youth, but now just a few minutes later, he retreated the same distance as the enemy and the energy constructions didn’t suffer any damage.

”Boooom!”, those two flashed and clashed fists once again, Marcus using the black lion armor as well as his promised level treasure while Daimon had the energy construction gauntlets as well as the dark copper colored energy layer covering his arm and right upper body.

Every time they clashed, Marcus increased the mana output of his black flames but couldn’t gain the upper hand like before, at most the dark copper colored energy clad cracked and sparks flew due to the collision, but he simply couldn’t bypass it, which ended up angering him.

”Damn it, go to hell already!”, the black flame mana on Marcus’s fists suddenly quadrupled its intensity as he applied the maximum amount of it he could, without using a spell.

”Crack!”, with such a high amount of mana, Marcus broke through the dark copper colored energy clad and reached Daimon’s energy gauntlet below, also destroying it after a moment of collision, as a result Marcus retreated thirty meters and Daimon retreated almost a hundred meters.

”Royal Black Hell Step!”, with renewed confidence, Marcus immediately used his movement spell and charged at Daimon who blocked his punch with his own, this time using his left hand which had that dark copper energy clad instead.

”What’s wrong, is your right hand broken or something…”, just as Marcus was mocking Daimon, the latter extended his right index finger, pointing it at Marcus chest which was only a meter or so away since their punches were clashing.

”Storm Breaking Javelin”, lightning, metal and vitality energies rotated as they gathered on the tip of Daimon’s finger to then be shot in a thin line that passed through Marcus’s chest and continued its way far into the distance until it reached a giant boulder making it explode upon contact to then dive into the ground, leaving a though thin, seemingly bottomless hole.

”Boooom!”, while a thunderous explosion echoed through the battlefield, the ”Marcus” in front of Daimon dissolved into black mana particles, and the real one appeared a few dozens of meters away.

Though the devil ruler system user kept a tough front, he felt a shiver running down his back, earlier he nearly took that attack at point blank, had he been a fraction of a second slower to make an emergency jump through space which is why he only travelled a few meters, a hole would have been blasted on his chest.

The reason as to why Daimon made the javelin series his stapple basic spell and martial art, respectively, is that besides their concentrated power which focuses in a single point, they are scalable, meaning that they can be used at the star, lord and arch rank even, also they have the shortest casting time among the long-range attack type energy spells and martial arts.

As to why they weren’t popular among neither mages nor knights, that’s because they are single target and since they save energy as they are shot in a straight line, controlling them once casted is incredibly hard.

And that’s also why the battle loving werewolf Aura, taught them to Daimon so he would take them as his basic attack spell and martial art, since it worked as training as well.

But the power, short casting time and low energy requirement of the javelin technique is not what took Marcus by surprise this time, but the fact that Daimon used it while he had the obviously reinforced copper energy armor on him.

’Wasn’t he using that amplifying energy to make the dark copper colored armor, how come he suddenly used that damn technique with such a stupidly short casting time at the same time!’, inwardly cursed the devil ruler system user.

In his mind, Daimon could only add the red energy to his attacks actively if he used Badr’s multiplier to empower it, and he was right… until a moment ago, when he managed to manifest the giant wolf, his control over Arianna’s energy improved on the spot.

So now, he could use the werewolf girl’s power for his techniques, without Badr energy’s help, of course the result should be weaker, but Marcus missed something important, all of Femi’s energy was receiving the boost, so while Dana and Arianna’s energy were in their base state, the dwarf princess’s one wasn’t.

What’s more, Daimon only used one multiplier before but this time, while only focusing on Femi’s energy, he used both of them and that was enough to make up for the difference, also it was about to be shot at point blank.

”That was a ”shadow afterimage”, not bad”, said Daimon as he saw the ”Marcus” in front of him disappear, the devil ruler system user wasn’t fast enough to leave afterimages for Daimon’s eyes, so he used shadow devil mana to make one during his emergency retreat.

”Hahaha, that pretentious ascension ceremony is really biting you in the ass”, merrily said the ghost-like administrator, making Marcus grit his teeth, the enemy’s progress over the control of those energies was advancing at lightning speed.

Since the cat was out of the bag, as in Marcus had to reveal he had gained enough control over shadow mana to use it much more actively, not the way he wanted to as he was planning to use it to land a heavy attack on the masked silver haired youth, he outright started using it in the open.

’Fine, then let’s just make it so that bastard doesn’t have a free hand to attack me with!’, he exclaimed to his insides.

”Royal Black Shadow Beast Guards!”, the ”beast” suffix made its appearance again as black shadow devil mana poured out of Marcus’s body to then form four tall figures that were actually covered in black lion themed armors, similar to the one Marcus was using.

”Royal Black Hell Step!”, this time not only Marcus, but also the shadow beast guards flashed towards Daimon at the same time, appearing above and around Daimon surrounding him in five directions.

”Clang!”, Daimon used his right fist to clash with Marcus’s fist while his left hand was used to block the claws of Marcus’s left gauntlet, the four shadow beast guards took the chance to punch or kick Daimon, only for the dark copper energy armor which was only covering Daimon’s arms and chest to further expand, protecting his whole body.

”Crack!”, the fists and legs of the shadow guards cracked, not only were they unable to break through the dark copper energy armor but the impact ended up harming them instead.

’Damn it”, seeing the armor now covering Daimon’s body completely, Marcus inwardly cursed, but in any case, he only needed to use more mana and if there is anything he has in excess, besides anger, that’s mana as of current.

”Royal Black Hell Explosive Fist Barrage!”, both of Marcus’s gauntlets as well as the hands of the shadow beast guards, exploded in black flames that left fiery traces as they all attacked Daimon at the same time.

”Clang!”, continuous clinking sounds echoed through the battlefield as Daimon skillfully blocked Marcus’s punches while using his forearms, shoulders and legs to block the attacks of the shadow guards.

”Crack!”, of course due to the rain of empowered attacks, the copper energy armor started showing signs of breaking and after what for Marcus was too long considering how much mana he had injected into his gauntlets and the fists of the shadow beast guards, it finally reached its limit and crumbled apart, Marcus specially made sure to destroy the energy gauntlets covering Daimon’s hands.

”Boooom!”, still, the armor exploded and as if shot by a shotgun, the countless shards of the solid copper energy armor that were released outwards, hit the shadow beast guards and blasted them into the distance, even when destroyed Femi’s energy armor did its best to protect Daimon.

Marcus was fine because he managed to sent the impact into the shadow realm just in time, to then cruelly smile as he punched with his right gauntlet at Daimon’s face taking advantage of what he knew was going to be a short window of time before Daimon recreated the reinforced armor.

”Clang!”, unfortunately his smile died down as he saw Daimon stop his fist with… his bare hand.

”What!”, Marcus had exhausted his spell to destroy the energy armor and didn’t take the time to make the lion armor recover since he wanted to make sure his attack was as fast as possible, but still that was his fist which had a magic treasure covering it, for it to be stopped by the masked silver haired youth’s bare hand, it didn’t make sense.

Unfortunately, no matter how he pushed he couldn’t force Daimon to retreat, in fact his gauntlet started producing sparks as it pressed itself against the hand of the masked silver haired youth.

”Royal Black Hell Explosive Fist!”, since he couldn’t wound the enemy just with his fist, Marcus directly used a spell, while aiming at Daimon’s chest, however in his anger he forgot about something important, his lackeys hadn’t returned yet and Daimon had a free hand as of current, a hand whose index finger was now pointing upwards from below, in a direction that would create a line that will pass through his neck and come out of the crown of his head.

”Storm Breaking Javelin”, seeing Daimon not even batting an eye at his ongoing spell, Marcus realized that the enemy’s attack will reach him first, the casting time was shorter and it was a shooting type technique unlike his after all.

Ultimately, Marcus didn’t dare to bet with his life on the line so he flashed backwards just in time for Daimon to release the storm breaking javelin, which the devil ruler system user blocked with his right fist which had the spell on it.

”Booooom!”, both attacks clashed and exploded upon contact, of course since Marcus was directly hit, he was flung backwards while Daimon only retreated due to the shockwave.

’What the hell is going on, how did his damn bare body grow so tough out of nowhere!’, screamed Marcus only for Lezabel to answer him.

”Have you not understood that with every second that passes your opponent grows stronger, you can’t be both coward and stupid, choose one or the other”, she said.

Lezabel was right, what happened is that Daimon had obtained the base form of Femi’s main technique just like it happened with Dana and Arianna, in the dwarf princess’s case, it was ”Copper Skin”, which by being hammered into the user’s body through blocking attacks, tempered the skin increasing its toughness and defense.

As to why Daimon used both multipliers on Femi’s energy exclusively, when he could have just applied them to all of them, that’s because his body is already incredibly powerful, he had even less impurities than Femi so tempering his skin required a shorter but harder to accomplish process, luckily seventy percent of the total output of Femi’s energy which Daimon could control at a time, amplified twice by Badr’s energy to then be focused in around a fifth part of Daimon’s body was enough to fulfill the requirements.

That also meant that Daimon had only tempered his arms and chest as of current though, but that was more than enough to take Marcus by surprise earlier.

”Storm Breaking Step”, Daimon who once again covered his body with the copper energy armor, this time focusing on his legs, flashed from his previous position to then appear in front of Marcus, the energy gauntlets as well as Dana’s lightning covered his now tempered right fist as he punched at Marcus who felt as if a mountain was being thrown at him.

”Royal Black Shadow Decoy!”, suddenly one of the shadow beast guards emerged out of Marcus’s shadow blocking in front of him just in time to receive Daimon’s punch.

”Crack!”, Daimon’s fist directly blasted a hole through the chest of the beast shadow guard and was destroyed by Dana’s lightning expanding upon contact with an enemy.

”Royal Black Hell Step!”, Marcus flashed away to gain distance only to see Daimon appear right at his side at practically the same moment as himself.

”Storm Breaking Roaring Fist!”, this time Daimon coupled his movement martial art with an attack type one, as a result of it, Dana’s lightning grew fiercer and formed the shape of a tiger’s head around Daimon’s fist.

With a ”swoosh”, this time Marcus made all three remaining shadow beast guards block in front of him.

”Roaaaar!”, alongside Daimon’s punching motion, the lightning tiger head around his fist exploded releasing a loud roar alongside its physical impact which was terrifying thanks to Daimon’s tempered fist.

”Boooom!”, the energy explosion that followed was also incredibly fierce, it swallowed the three shadow beast guards in a fraction of a second and expanded at the same speed at which Marcus had retreated, he simply wasn’t given a second of rest by Daimon.

Now imagine his expression when Daimon who was smirking behind his mask, pointed his left index finger at Marcus.

”Storm Breaking Javelin”.

’Damn it!’, cursed the devil ruler system user, his eyes got bloodshot and he directly shouted.

”Domain!”, mana gathered from all over the place and actually got in the way of Daimon’s technique in the process making both the expanding lightning explosion and the javelin exhaust their power ultimately saving Marcus at the last second just a few centimeters before they reached him.
