Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Gong Xuan’s words cast a sudden silence over the stone chamber.

Yun Yao’s expression stiffened.

She had never imagined that Gong Xuan would find out about her acknowledging Chu Sheng as her master.

The clan chiefs behind her also wore expressions of utter disbelief.

Seeing this, Gong Xuan continued to sneer.

”Well, Yun Yao? Was I wrong?”

”Your master... he’s on that woman, isn’t he?”

Gong Xuan said, pointing at Gu Yuexi.

”Heh, you Mosquito Beast in there. Stop hiding!”

”Come out and let everyone see just what kind of Insect Beast could make the Holy Daughter of our Witch Race acknowledge it as her master!”

The words had barely left his mouth.

All eyes fell on Gu Yuexi.

At the same time, Gu Yuexi felt a stir in her robes.

The clone had vanished, and Chu Sheng’s true body had returned.

Before everyone’s eyes, an ordinary black mosquito slowly flew out and landed on Gu Yuexi’s shoulder.

’BUZZ... Lord Mosquito is here. What of it?’

Naturally, no one besides Gu Yuexi and Yun Yao could understand Chu Sheng’s words.

In the eyes of the clan chiefs, this... this was just a perfectly ordinary mosquito.

”Impossible!”

”How could the Holy Daughter do something so foolish!”

”That’s right! Gong Xuan, stop spouting nonsense!”

Two clan chiefs immediately stepped forward, refusing to believe it... but Yun Yao gritted her teeth and cut them off.

”He’s right!”

”I did sign a temporary master-servant contract with him. This mosquito... is currently my master.”

Yun Yao said, her words deliberate and clear.

She had been mortified when the secret was first exposed, but as she spoke, she raised her head again.

”But so what?”

”Everything I have done is for the good of the Witch Race!”

”As it stands, only this woman and her Contracted Beast—my master—have any chance of saving the Witch Race!”

This...

Hearing Yun Yao admit it with her own mouth, the clan chiefs were all stunned.

Gong Xuan burst into laughter.

”HAHAHAHAHA! Ridiculous!”

”Did you all hear that? The Holy Daughter of our great Witch Race has taken an Insect Beast as her master, and not only does she feel no shame, she’s proud of it?!”

”Since when has the Witch Race needed outsiders to save it!”

...

To the side, Gu Yuexi and Chu Sheng watched the confrontation and argument unfold.

They were both growing impatient.

’Honestly,’ Chu Sheng thought, ’I didn’t expect this Witch Race business to be so troublesome.’

Gu Yuexi’s cold voice cut through their argument.

”Enough.”

She took a step forward, her gaze sweeping over everyone present.

”Heh. Perhaps you’ve misunderstood.”

”I’m afraid I have no interest whatsoever in saving your Witch Race.”

”We only came because of a deal with Yun Yao. If the deal cannot be completed, that’s fine. We’ll simply leave.”

With that, Gu Yuexi’s gaze fell upon Yun Yao.

”We will wait for one hour. If you haven’t sorted this out by then... the deal is off.”

After speaking, Gu Yuexi ignored everyone and walked directly toward the door.

Hearing Gu Yuexi’s words, the color drained from Yun Yao’s face.

But Gong Xuan barked out a sharp command.

”Don’t even think about leaving!”

”Leave our Witch Race’s sacred object behind!”

Gong Xuan charged! However, he had barely taken half a step before the woman and the mosquito vanished from sight.

...

「Witch Ancestral Land. The peak of a steep mountain.」

Gu Yuexi and Chu Sheng appeared out of thin air.

Leave?

Of course they weren’t leaving. They just couldn’t be bothered to meddle in the Witch Race’s affairs.

Since they were already here, they had to achieve their objectives.

For example, the method to control the Twelve Ancestral Witch Stone Statues.

Gu Yuexi also planned to further comprehend the subtleties of the Heaven and Earth Laws here.

Did they have to rely on their deal with Yun Yao to achieve these goals?

Not necessarily. It would be great if they could do it through Yun Yao, but if not, they would just find their own way.

Chu Sheng was willing to help his temporary servant, but only on the condition that it wasn’t too much trouble.

On the mountain peak, Chu Sheng told Gu Yuexi what he had learned about the Witch Race from Yun Yao.

Gu Yuexi nodded.

”There’s no rush.”

”The secrets of the Witch Race likely run much deeper than this.”

With that, she sat down cross-legged and resumed her comprehension of the Laws.

Chu Sheng, on the other hand, activated his Chaos True Sight again. His gaze traversed tens of thousands of meters, settling upon the various clan territories of the Witch Race.

Before long, a vast and ancient sound suddenly rang out.

”WOOO~”

The sound wasn’t loud, but it was incredibly piercing. It passed through the stone hall, through the mist, flowing and echoing between the mountain ranges like invisible ripples spreading outward.

Through his Chaos True Sight, Chu Sheng ”saw” it all. In every tribe, the expression of every member of the Witch Race who heard the sound changed drastically. Then, they began rushing toward the Holy Hall!

’BUZZ... What’s going on?’

Chu Sheng’s gaze returned to the Holy Hall.

At some point, Yun Yao had walked out of the stone hall and was now standing on the steps before it.

She was clutching a horn.

The horn was a grayish-white, seemingly polished from the horn of some colossal beast, its surface covered in complex, carved totems.

Now, she raised it to her lips, drawing a deep breath to sound it.

”WOOOO—”

The second blast sounded.

It was more desolate, more ancient, and more profound than the first, like a call echoing from ten thousand years past.

Even Gu Yuexi, who had been meditating with her eyes closed, opened them now.

Then, Chu Sheng witnessed an even more astonishing scene.

At the entrance to the stone hall, the clan chiefs who had just been arguing—the old man from the Houtu lineage, the woman from the Jumang lineage, the burly man from the Zhurong lineage, and even Gong Xuan—

all dropped to their knees in unison.

They weren’t kneeling to Yun Yao. They were kneeling to the sound.

Their knees slammed onto the flagstones with a dull thud.

Heads bowed and hands on the ground, they prostrated themselves, unmoving.

Gong Xuan’s face looked as if he had swallowed a fly, but he still knelt nonetheless.

...

「An hour later.」

In the distance, more and more members of the Witch Race arrived in the plaza.

One by one, they too knelt.

No one spoke.

No one hesitated.

There was only the rustle of robes against the ground and the dull thud of knees meeting stone.

Soon, the entire plaza was filled with kneeling figures.

A dense sea of heads stretched from the entrance of the stone hall to the edge of the plaza.

Farther away, at the foot of the mountain...

The figures still sprinting toward the mountain heard the lingering echo of the second blast and stopped in their tracks.

Then, they knelt right where they stood.

All around the sacred mountain—at its base, on its slopes, along its paths—countless figures prostrated themselves on the ground, all facing the same direction.

Chu Sheng’s Divine Sense swept across the entire Witch Ancestral Land.

He saw it all: on every mountain, on every road, in every corner—every member of the Witch Race who couldn’t make it in time was now kneeling.

There were no exceptions.

The entire Witch Ancestral Land fell utterly silent.

Only the horn’s echo continued to reverberate through the mountains.

And the only ones not kneeling... were Gu Yuexi and Chu Sheng, the woman and the mosquito.

...

’BUZZ... How interesting.’

’BUZZ... She should’ve just used this from the start. Why waste time blabbering with that Gong Xuan guy?’

’BUZZ... Looks like things are finally taking a turn. Let’s go check it out.’

Chu Sheng grabbed onto Gu Yuexi’s clothes, and they vanished without a sound.
