Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

The group arrived in the Capital, and Yang Run Tai did not get off the bus early; instead, he followed them to the Wei Family’s house.

Zhang Qiu’e didn’t expect them to be back so quickly, so she hurriedly started a fire.

Before leaving, Jiang Xinyu had told her to make a fire every day.

Back home, the kids also sorted out their own luggage.

Seeing that Wei Kaiyun was busy, Yang Run Tai sat on the side and waited.

After everything was tidied up, Wei Kaiyun sat down next to Yang Run Tai.

”Uncle Wei, I want to ask about my little uncle.”

”I haven’t seen him for a long time either. The last time I saw him, he said his family arranged for him to meet a girl from the Tao Family, and he agreed to the meeting.”

What was unclear to Yang Run Tai? Since the little uncle had told Wei Kaiyun, he should have moved on from the educated youth. But why did he still not answer the family’s calls?

”Uncle Wei, can you figure out what my little uncle’s intentions are?”

Wei Kaiyun shook his head. ”I don’t care what he thinks; he can’t have any contact with the girls from my family. I’ve already warned him strictly.”

Yang Run Tai nodded. He didn’t need Wei Kaiyun to say it; he knew his little uncle must have been warned.

”Uncle Wei, what do you think of the girl from the Tao Family?”

Wei Kaiyun shook his head. ”I haven’t had any contact with her. Don’t know.”

Yang Run Tai sighed inwardly. He thought the girl from the Tao Family was actually quite a good match for his little uncle.

”Uncle Wei, when are you planning to go back?”

”After the thaw here.”

”Can I go back with you?”

Wei Kaiyun raised an eyebrow. ”Sure.”

”Thank you, Uncle Wei. I just want to see my little uncle. It’s not wise for him to act like this. Actually, I also realized that the girls from your family don’t seem to have feelings for my little uncle.

Actually, speaking for myself, I support my little uncle, but it’s no use for him to act like this. His mom is bent on finding him a wife who matches or even surpasses our Yang family in power.

My grandfather selected the Tao Family, but the Tao Family hasn’t given a definite response.

I’m going over to advise him; this stalemate is not beneficial.”

Unconsciously, Yang Run Tai’s thinking resembled that of an adult.

Wei Kaiyun was quite wary of this young boy. This kid was way too mature. His thought process, his words were all as mature as an adult’s.

Yang Run Tai realized his mistake and felt annoyed with himself. What was going on with him? He had seen all sorts of things in his past life. Why was he making so many mistakes today?

”Uncle Wei, I’ll come by tomorrow to take the younger siblings out to play.”

Wei Kaiyun nodded. Tomorrow he would follow along, or Old Han would.

The children chattered around Shang Zhenkun, complaining about how disappointing the hot springs were.

”Actually, it’s very comfortable; it’s just that there’s nobody managing it now. If it were for sale, you should have your parents buy it.”

”Master Shang, what’s so good about it? I don’t like it,” Shi Jing murmured.

However, Feifei had a sudden flash of inspiration. This could really work, maybe they could turn it into a tourist attraction in the future.

”Master Shang, I’m going to find Uncle Han.”

Han Xiangjun was brought over by Feifei. ”Uncle Han, can the hot springs be bought?”

Han Xiangjun smiled, ”What’s wrong? Interested?”

”Uncle Han, if it’s possible, could you ask how much it costs? I have some money, my brother has some, and Brother Jianbin has some too. The three of us can pool our resources to buy it. When we grow up, we’ll have someone manage it, and then we can make money by selling tickets to those who want to visit the hot springs.”

Han Xiangjun laughed heartily, ”Alright, I’ll ask, but I might as well buy it and gift it to you.”

Feifei shook her head, ”Then it wouldn’t be ours.”

Han Xiangjun liked this little girl very much, almost as much as he did Jianbin, just missing the blood relation.

”Okay, but the three of you won’t have enough money. How about this: I’ll lend you some?”

Shang Zhenkun laughed from the side. ”No need, I’ll cover it. It’ll be my gift to the three of them.” The three children looked at Shang Zhenkun in surprise.

”What’s wrong? Don’t think Master Shang has the money?”

The three kids shook their heads, not thinking that at all.

”Master Shang, I have a thousand, and my brother has about the same amount, and Brother Jianbin can chip in a thousand, too.

Uncle Han, how much do the hot springs actually cost?”

Han Xiangjun shook his head, ”It’s hard to say. This used to be the imperial palace from the previous dynasty. It probably belongs to the state.

I’m thinking that if it’s sold, it should cost quite a bit. Twenty thousand wouldn’t be enough.”

Feifei was now in a dilemma. She wasn’t very knowledgeable about daily life, and even less about money.

She thought the three of them each having a thousand was already a lot, not realizing it was just a drop in the bucket.

Shang Zhenkun chuckled from the side, ”Little Han, go ask. I can manage three thousand.”

”Alright, I’ll ask someone tomorrow.”

Jiang Feifei felt conflicted. Forget it, better to ask mom later. After all, it’s a relic, and they may not sell it. Even if they do, it might bring trouble in the future. Better to leave it to fate.

”Sister, should we really try to buy it?”

”Hmm, it’s not certain that we can buy it. Just thinking that we could sell tickets later; wouldn’t that be interesting?”

Shi Jing didn’t think it sounded interesting. But since his sister liked it, he’d go along with it.

Jianbin had no objections. Whatever works. Even if they couldn’t sell tickets later, their family could enjoy it, and by then they’d be old enough to handle the temperature, right?

Jiang Xinyu had finished tidying up and was helping Zhang Qiu’e prepare dinner. Wei Kaiyun said he wanted to eat fried sauce noodles.

That’s easy, it’s just that making the noodles can be tough. If the dough’s too soft, the noodles won’t taste good.

Yang Run Tai had figured out what he wanted to know and got permission to join the return trip, so he left.

He walked over to the kids, ”Jianbin, Shi Jingfeifei, I’ll come by tomorrow morning to pick you up. We’ll go have fun, and the first stop is to go ice skating at Beihai Park, okay?”

This was proposed by Shi Jing. He used to go ice skating with his friends around this time.

Shi Jing was very hesitant, knowing that he held a grudge against Sister Jing Chu. How could he go along?

”Shi Jing, I’m going back to the Northeast with you this time. You’ve all misunderstood my intentions.

I have no ill intentions towards your sister. It was just discussing matters as they came up.” Yang Run Tai immediately realized what the little kid was conflicted about, so he decided to explain himself.

”Really no ill intentions towards Sister Jing Chu?”

Yang Run Tai raised his hand, ”I promise, absolutely none.”

This finally relieved Shi Jing. He actually liked Yang Run Tai quite a bit. Now they could still play together.

”Great, we’ll wait for you at home tomorrow, but we don’t have any ice skating gear here, and we didn’t bring anything ourselves.”
