Starting Out As The God of Beasts

Inside the ruined, roofless chamber, High Priest Arnold’s orange eyes flickered violently.

A sharp, searing sting throbbed directly behind his forehead, making his vision blur for a fraction of a millisecond.

The subtle mental jolt Roy had delivered to throw off his aim had left a minute ripple within the proxy’s divine synchronization.

Arnold lowered his smoking hand, his glowing orange gaze locking onto the two remaining figures below.

“What… did you do?” the distorted, overlapping voice demanded, sounding like grinding tectonic plates. “Did you dare… tamper with my mind, mortals?”

Grand Chancellor Manuses and Pope Croak merely exchanged a brief, genuine look of confusion.

Neither of them possessed mind-based divine authorities, leaving them entirely unaware of Roy’s hidden intervention from the rooftop.

Manuses sneered, raising his massive hands as his sharp golden claws extended. “We didn’t do a thing to your head, proxy! But if you’re feeling dizzy, I’d be happy to knock it clean off your shoulders!”

“Arrogant insects!”

Arnold’s patience completely shattered.

He threw his arms wide, his shirtless, hyper-muscular physique expanding as blinding violet-gold plasma erupted from his chest like a miniature dying sun.

HUMMMMM—!

The atmosphere inside the muted divine barrier transformed instantly.

The air was consumed by a radiant, superheated aura that glowed with the blinding majesty of the morning sun—the absolute, unmistakable signature of the Light of Dawn.

It was a divine manifestation so pure and searing that the remaining stone walls began to melt into glowing glass, confirming beyond a shadow of a doubt that an Angel of the Dawn God was orchestrating the slaughter.

It was so terrifying that the two Martial Saints could feel their arms quivering.

“I-It It is just like Norona….this terrifying pressure…” Pope Croak stuttered, his throat drying.

“Perish under the light of judgment!” the proxy roared.

Hovering motionless in the air, Arnold simply waved his gauntleted hand.

SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!

A sweeping crescent wave of superheated solar plasma cut through the air, followed instantly by hundreds of terrifying, purifying sun spears that materialized out of thin air.

Each spear hummed with pressurized atmospheric wind and burning solar fire, raining down upon the two commanders like a meteor shower.

Yet Grand Chancellor Manuses and Pope Croak were no ordinary mortals.

They were Martial Saints—beings who stood at the absolute pinnacle of mortal cultivation.

“Hahaha! Come on then!” Manuses roared with fierce delight.

Manuses activated his domain, unleashing his upgraded legacy skill—Saint of Wrath.

A violent, dark-red aura exploded around his body, instantly boosting his physical capabilities, muscle density, and reaction speed.

With every single passing second he remained in the heat of battle, his physical strength and speed grew exponentially, feeding off his own unyielding combat lust.

With this skill, he could even challenge a Martial Emperor for a short amount of time.

BOOM! BOOM!

Manuses blurred into a streak of gold and crimson, his movements effortlessly weaving through the falling shower of sun spears.

He ducked under a sweeping wave of light, his boots shattering the molten floor as he backflipped over a cluster of exploding plasma shafts, leaving trailing shadows in his wake.

Beside him, Pope Croak stood his ground with absolute, unflinching composure.

The squat pope raised his dark clerical staff, slamming its base heavily against the ground.

“Great Sea Wall!” Croak bellowed.

A massive, towering wave of dense, highly compressed dark-blue water erupted out of thin air, forming a curving, impenetrable aquatic dome over his head.

When the searing sun spears slammed into the aquatic barrier, deafening explosions of superheated steam hissed into the air.

HISSSS!

But the dense, pressurized water held firm, completely neutralizing the direct solar strikes.

Arnold remained suspended in mid-air, barely shifting his posture, his expression growing darker with every passing second.

Each casual wave of his arm unleashed apocalyptic, high-level divine demonstration , yet these two heretical mortals were fluidly dodging and blocking his attacks, taking virtually zero damage.

The divine pride of the Angel of Dawn flared with psychotic, burning irritation.

“Fools…” Arnold’s distorted voice hissed, his orange eyes narrowing into cold slits of utter contempt.

He raised his right hand high above his head, his palm facing the sky as he looked down at the two Martial Saints with supreme disdain.

“You think your pathetic tricks can save you from divine decree? You are nothing more than insects crawling in the dirt!”

HUMMMMM—!

The superheated violet light swirling around his palm condensed into a single, hyper-dense sphere of blinding, volatile solar energy no larger than an apple.

Before Manuses or Pope Croak could launch their counter-offensive—

BOOM!

Arnold brought his palm down, detonating the sphere directly into the center of the structure!

An apocalyptic wave of pure, unadulterated divine light exploded outward in a 360-degree radius!

The sheer physical and thermal force instantly obliterated the entire four-story stone building, turning the grand architecture into fine gray ash in less than a second.

The blinding light spread wildly across the inner courtyard, melting stone walkways and scorching dozens of nearby sect disciples who happened to be sleeping in the adjacent pavilions.

On the distant administrative rooftop, Roy stood with his hands casually tucked in his obsidian trench coat, watching the blinding column of light erase the building.

A cold, razor-thin smile touched Roy’s lips.

“That’s enough quiet time,” Roy whispered softly into the night.

Roy raised his right hand and crisply snapped his fingers.

SNAP.

The iridescent, muted spatial barrier wrapping around the entire zone instantly dissolved into nothingness.

BOOM! ROAAAAAR!

The muffled, suppressed sound of the apocalyptic explosion suddenly broke free into the real world, echoing like a hundred thunderclaps across the entire mountain range!

The blinding column of violet-gold fire shot high into the night sky, illuminating the entire province for miles in every direction.

Within seconds, panic erupted across the Glorious Mythical Sect.

Emergency warning bells began to blare hysterically from every watchtower

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

Waking the sleeping elders and their thousands of disciples into a state of absolute, terror-stricken chaos as the divine war officially spilled into the open.
