Sold for 300, I Fight Back with Superpowers

Sheng Chuanchua felt utterly humiliated. He had been the Great Elder for so long and hadn’t met a worthy opponent in years. On the rare occasions he did act, he always crushed his opponents with overwhelming power. He hadn’t suffered a single defeat in decades.

Yet now, he was on the verge of being defeated by a woman who didn’t even look twenty years old.

Countless vines and weeds swarmed toward him. Not just from all sides, but even from midair, tree branches lashed out at him. He was effectively trapped in a cage woven from the mountain’s flora, unable to even move his feet, let alone escape.

Sheng Chuanchua realized with despair that he couldn’t escape even if he wanted to. He futilely hacked away at the sharp plants surrounding him, only for more to instantly take their place in a constant, unending stream. He even began to wonder if a grand and powerful Onmyoji such as himself would actually die of exhaustion if this kept up.

But other than continuing to hack away, he was unable to use any of his other abilities.

Sheng Chuanchua was trapped in a cage of Su Qing’s making, unable to escape. Ye Yue Taishun’s situation was no better. In just that short time, several new wounds had appeared on his body, drenching half of him in blood. His limbs were also bound tightly by numerous vines, and he couldn’t break free no matter how long he struggled.

In just over ten minutes, Su Qing had forced Ye Yue Taishun and Sheng Chuanchua into a corner. Finally, both men were bound tightly by vines and left dangling upside down in midair. All around them, layered thickets of plants watched them like tigers, their thorns aimed right at them.

Looking at Su Qing’s leisurely smile, Ye Yue Taishun and Sheng Chuanchua sighed deeply. ’We’ve lost.’ The Great Elders of two major Onmyoji families had fallen just like that, in the Qinling of Hua Country. The tragedy was that they hadn’t even been able to use a tenth of their skills before this young girl had them completely suppressed, beating them so thoroughly they were powerless to resist.

If the two of them knew Su Qing had already undergone Washing Marrow, they would probably be angry enough to spit blood. This was a battle on a completely different level. How could they possibly defeat someone who had experienced Washing Marrow?

”Friend, while we are Japanese, we have no past grievances or recent grudges. Our Shengchuan Family holds some prestige back in Japan. If you are amenable, friend, why don’t we have a proper chat? After all, it’s always better to have another friend than another enemy,” Sheng Chuanchua said, looking at Su Qing. Since she had already exposed his identity with the Shengchuan Family, he knew there was no hiding the fact that they were Japanese. It was better to just admit it frankly.

”I mind. I mind a great deal,” Su Qing said, her face filled with revulsion. The expression nearly made Ye Yue Taishun and Sheng Chuanchua spit blood from rage.

”We’ve never met, and we have no quarrel with you. Isn’t treating us like this going a bit too far?” Ye Yue Taishun had numerous wounds and had no time to staunch the bleeding. Having lost a significant amount of blood, he gasped for a few breaths before saying to Su Qing, ”Aren’t you afraid of making yourself a laughingstock?”

”Heh.” Su Qing chuckled as she looked at the two men, who were trussed up like dumplings. She raised an eyebrow. ”No quarrel? Have you already forgotten what you were doing? Do you need me to spell it out for you?”

Hearing Su Qing’s words, both Ye Yue Taishun and Sheng Chuanchua’s hearts went cold. ’Could it be? Does she know what we’re doing?’

’But that’s impossible. This was supposed to be a covert operation. Almost no one even knows about it back in Japan, let alone here. Besides, to ensure secrecy, we barely brought any of our own clansmen. Most of the people with us are ordinary humans. How could we possibly have attracted the attention of people from over here?’

Ye Yue Taishun and Sheng Chuanchua frantically replayed the events in their minds, trying to pinpoint where they had slipped up. Outwardly, Sheng Chuanchua attempted to bluff. ”Friend, you must be mistaken. We are Japanese, yes, but we only came to Qinling because we admire how rich the Spiritual Energy is here. We just hoped to cultivate for a while. We are all fellow cultivators, surely you wouldn’t be so stingy as to forbid us from training here, would you?”

’Heh, still won’t admit it?’ Su Qing knew they wouldn’t confess so easily. But she had no intention of forcing a confession out of them. ’Some things don’t need to be spelled out. All that matters to me is the final outcome.’ Since she had no plans to let either of them go, she couldn’t care less whether they told the truth.

”What is there to admit?” Ye Yue Taishun said hastily. ”Friend, we know we’re no match for you, and we humbly concede defeat. If it pleases you, friend, we are willing to serve as your vanguard. We only hope you can show some leniency.”

”Yes, yes, that’s right.” Sheng Chuanchua’s only thought was to escape Su Qing’s clutches, so he quickly chimed in. ”If you are willing to spare us, both the Shengchuan Family and the Ye Yue Family would be honored to be your allies. We would even be willing to serve at your command. The two of us hold considerable status and influence in our respective families. We have the authority to make such a promise.”

Su Qing just smiled faintly without a word, her gaze fixed on the two men. Her stare made goosebumps break out all over their skin, and they had no idea what she was planning.

Then, they watched as vines began to drag over the unconscious bodies scattered around the area. Besides Ye Yue Taishun and Sheng Chuanchua, there were twenty men, every last one accounted for.

”Wha-what are you doing?” A sense of dread bloomed in the hearts of Ye Yue Taishun and Sheng Chuanchua at the sight.

”I’m giving you a demonstration of your own fate.” Su Qing smiled faintly. Then, with a mere thought, the vines snapped the necks of all twenty unconscious men. Their bodies were then dragged deep into the earth.

Ye Yue Taishun: ...

Sheng Chuanchua: ...

Then, Sheng Chuanchua cried out in a mixture of shock and fury, ”You call yourself a cultivator, yet you slaughter the innocent so wantonly! Aren’t you afraid of karmic retribution?”

Su Qing narrowed her eyes. ”How fascinating. You actually know what retribution is. In that case, what kind of retribution do you think your own actions will bring?”

With that, Su Qing raised an eyebrow. ”Oh, my mistake. You don’t need to worry about *future* retribution, because you’re about to receive *immediate* retribution. So you two don’t have to worry about the future at all. Because you don’t have one.”

Su Qing’s tone was casual, but her words struck Ye Yue Taishun and Sheng Chuanchua’s hearts like a heavy hammer. They knew then that there was absolutely no chance she would let them go.

”You... you...” Ye Yue Taishun was so enraged he coughed up a mouthful of blood on the spot. Even Sheng Chuanchua felt his chest tighten, finding it nearly impossible to breathe as his face turned beet red.

’They couldn’t win in a fight. They couldn’t win in an argument.’ Neither of them had ever felt so utterly humiliated in their entire lives.

The only reason Su Qing hadn’t killed them immediately was so she could vent her anger first. She wanted them to die, but she wanted them to die feeling just as humiliated as they were now.
