Chapter 369: Chapter 369 Arlo Seys’s Scheme

Arlo stood up, put down the banquet guest list, and walked towards the door.

Veralina approached her brother, ”Adonis, what were you chatting with Arlo about?”

”We talked about some notable families in the business world,” Adonis casually replied. ”Sis, keep an eye on Arlo. I sense he’s setting up a chessboard, plotting something. Watch out for him, don’t let him fall, and immediately tell me if anything is wrong. The Quinn Family can always assist him.”

Veralina’s face froze for a moment, then she nodded.

Adonis looked at Veralina, ”Sis, does the Seys Family have any dealings with the Saxton Family in City T?”

Veralina shook her head, ”No, why ask all of a sudden?”

Adonis spread out the guest list Arlo had drawn up, ”Arlo suddenly invited the Saxton Family and asked quite a few questions about them. Why is he interested in the Saxton Family?”

Veralina sighed, ”Adonis, you know, Arlo has a reserved temperament and deep thoughts. He wouldn’t tell us these things. His relationship with his father soured when he chose to leave politics for business and hasn’t improved since. Just thinking about it gives me a headache.”

Adonis chuckled, ”With my brother-in-law’s old-fashioned personality, I wouldn’t like him either. He only likes people to follow the path he’s planned. If I were Arlo, I wouldn’t bother with him! Arlo is definitely a good hand for business; look at how well Era has grown. How can my brother-in-law be so stubborn?”

”Stop it, watch your words! He’s still your brother-in-law.” Veralina laughed.

Adonis sighed, ”Sis, you truly are like spilled water. Only you can put up with your brother-in-law’s old-fashioned personality! Luckily, your son Arlo isn’t like him, otherwise, I’d be frustrated having two old-fashioned people to deal with.”

”...”

For the Seys Family patriarch’s birthday banquet, Arlo prepared two invitations for the Morris Couple. It wasn’t by choice, but rather to maintain some superficial relationship with the Morris Couple since they are Ariel’s adoptive parents after all.

Of course, the main reason was to have them come and put on a good show!

The invitation was sent back to the Morris home by Ariel Morris.

As for the Seys Family patriarch’s birthday banquet, all the attending guests were prominent figures. Laura Pinley and Damien Morris felt very excited and pleased about the opportunity to meet more powerful people.

While eating, Laura served Ariel a bowl of chicken soup with a smile, ”Ariel, last time I sent Scarlett with some chicken soup for you, why was it sent back? Today I made some especially for you, have more.”

Damien also spoke gently, ”Your mom knew you were coming back, so she got up early to make it for you, don’t waste her effort.”

”Okay.” Ariel smiled slightly, scooped up the chicken soup with a spoon, and drank it. ”It’s delicious, thanks mom.”

”If it tastes good, have more.” Laura wore a smiling expression on her face.

Ariel drank a few more sips. Seeing the rich chicken soup, she suddenly felt a sense of tightness in her chest, a bit suffocated. Her stomach felt a little uncomfortable. She looked up at Laura’s gently smiling face, endured the discomfort, and finished the bowl of chicken soup.

Shortly after the meal, while chatting with the Morris Couple, a servant walked up and announced that the Seys Family young master had arrived.

The Morris Couple was somewhat surprised and asked the servant to invite Arlo in. Ariel recalled how Arlo looked displeased the last time they visited. She had long noticed he didn’t like her adoptive parents. She made an excuse, saying she had something to do and would come back with Arlo another time, and then said goodbye and left the Morris home.

Arlo’s car was parked right in front of the Morris house. Ariel went over and got into the car.

”Why did you come to pick me up? Weren’t you working overtime?” Ariel smiled with her eyes.

Arlo looked at her and gave a gentle smile, ”It’s not safe for you to return to Royal View City alone at night, so I came to pick you up.”
