Genshin x Minecraft: Building the Temple of Virtue

The long-silent system suddenly spoke up. It was almost certain that somewhere in the MC world, either Xiao and the others had mined enough diamonds, or Chang Yi had taken advantage of the ”Hero of the Village” buff to trade for a full set of diamond armor.

But either way, it didn’t matter much to Ryen.

After all, he’d already received his reward.

If there was anything to regret…

It was that he still didn’t have any area-of-effect attack abilities.

Of course, splitting Teyvat in half with a single punch didn’t count.

Just look at Zhongli—he entered the MC world and still had Planet Befall with its massive AOE damage.

And him?

Enma Blade, AK-47, Vampiric Staff.

His damage output was insane—no one could survive taking a full combo from him.

But… he still had no large-scale attacks!

Sure, the Vampiric Staff was broken, but that thing was still only an overpowered single-target weapon.

Ryen was still planning to find a way to give himself AOE capabilities.

That said, when it came to the Vampiric Staff, Ryen had absolutely no complaints.

With this thing in hand, he would gladly strip off all his armor and stroll into the Nether like he owned the place.

Wither Skeletons? Ghasts?

Let him suck their blood first before they say anything.

And then there was the Lucky Block…

Thinking about the Lucky Block, Ryen couldn’t help but hug Ganyu and plant a kiss on her.

”This is amazing, Ganyu! Turns out, you’re my biggest cheat code!”

”Cheat code?”

Ganyu tilted her head in confusion, looking adorably clueless.

”It means… a gift.”

Ryen chuckled. And just like that, an offhanded sweet remark melted Ganyu’s heart completely.

Smiling with her eyes closed, she clung to Ryen’s neck and kissed him over and over, like a little bird pecking at grain.

”Ryen is my gift… The most precious one I’ve waited thousands of years for!”

Ryen patted her gently, not saying much.

After a moment, Ganyu looked at him curiously.

”You seem really happy. Did you think of something?”

”Something like that…”

Ryen paused, then chuckled.

”A certain heartless someone sent me a big present—our system just unlocked a new mod. And it’s a particularly powerful one.”

”Really?!”

Ganyu immediately sat up in excitement.

Bathed in the golden light streaming through the window, she looked both pure and enchanting.

Ryen, momentarily awestruck by the breathtaking sight, quickly reminded himself—this was his, after all. No need to hold back.

Blushing slightly, Ganyu corrected him earnestly,

”I don’t know how that existence gives you gifts, but since it’s an important new mod, you shouldn’t call it heartless! You should properly thank them instead!”

Hearing this, Ryen’s gaze flickered slightly.

After a brief silence, he murmured,

”Yeah… I should thank it.”

If not for the system, he wouldn’t have arrived in Teyvat. He wouldn’t have met Ganyu and the others. He wouldn’t have gained a world of his own.

Sure, he always complained about the system being merciless, about how it kept cranking up the difficulty of his achievement quests.

But when he really thought about it, the system had never actually screwed him over.

Everything it gave him not only helped him establish himself, but also came in clutch when he needed it most.

And if you really looked at it a certain way, the system was also the matchmaker that brought him and Ganyu together.

If he hadn’t been sent to Teyvat, would he ever have tasted coconut milk?

Then again, the system was just a rigid program—no point in getting sentimental with it.

”Ryen! Let’s go tell everyone and check out the new mod!”

”The last one, the Chain Mining mod, was already so powerful. And since you said this one’s even stronger, it must be amazing!”

Saying this, Ganyu started getting out of bed to get dressed.

Though her last outfit had been torn to shreds, she always kept plenty of spares stored in her Vision.

Yes…

The exact same outfit.

But before she could move, Ryen caught her wrist, his gaze locking onto her big, bright eyes.

”It’s still early. No rush. Let’s… move around a little more first.”

”Ah—”

Ganyu had wanted to refuse, but Ryen didn’t give her the chance.

The matter was settled. And since Ganyu had only recently gotten a taste of something new, she wasn’t exactly against it.

”Ryen… why did you say this mod is not only a gift from the system but also a gift from me?”

Hearing her soft, confused voice, Ryen gazed deeply at her.

Her previously unfocused eyes slowly regained clarity.

After a pause, she whispered,

”Why?”

Ryen gave a meaningful smile.

”Because this mod’s name is Lucky Block.”

Ganyu blinked in surprise, then seemed to realize something.

A hint of curiosity flickered in her expression as she repeated,

”What block?”

Ryen didn’t answer. And Ganyu didn’t press further.

Even in her slightly dazed state, she could figure it out.

Lucky Block?

Wrong.

It was… Ganyu’s Treasure Block!

By the time everything finally settled down, it was already around five in the evening.

Ningguang and the others had returned to Ryen’s courtyard.

Everyone seemed to be in high spirits, their expressions bright and relaxed.

But whether they were actually happy… well, that was another story.

At the very least, Hu Tao was pretty sure that Ningguang was in a terrible mood. Especially after hearing Ryen explain how he had sleepwalked in the middle of the night and accidentally demolished part of the house, which now needed renovations.

That excuse? Absolutely ridiculous.

Even if Hu Tao had no personal experience in these matters, just looking at Ganyu’s radiant complexion—and the slight awkwardness in her walk—made it abundantly clear what had really happened.

Did Ningguang not realize it?

Shaking her head, Hu Tao decided not to get involved in this battlefield. What puzzled her more was…

Why did Nahida, who looked like an innocent little girl, also seem so upset?

That was just absurd.

Meanwhile, Keqing had returned as well and was currently discussing the situation at Guili Plains with Ningguang. Though, from the way Ningguang seemed lost in thought, it was obvious her mind was elsewhere.

”Half of Guili Plains’ land has been completely replaced,” Keqing reported. ”I’ve already arranged for the Millelith to station there.

”With the presence of the wolf pack, the area is essentially impenetrable.

”We’ve planted crops from that world across ten percent of the land, and the rest has been used for trees.

”Additionally, every plant that should have been difficult to grow—whether it’s Qingxin and Glaze Lilies from the cliffs, Silk Flowers, Jueyun Chilis, or even specialty herbs from other nations like Cecilia Flowers, Dandelions, and Bloodjade Branches…

”Everything matured instantly when we applied bone meal.

”I believe we should completely replace all the land in Guili Plains.

”Once that’s done, we can designate specific areas for medicinal herbs, specialty crops, and staple grains. Guili Plains will become Liyue’s largest agricultural hub.

”With this, Liyue will completely eliminate food shortages—and we’ll even be able to export surplus supplies for profit.

”Additionally, I’ve been considering turning the Mingyun Village region into a ranch. Given the nature of that world, topography and terrain aren’t major obstacles.

”Even though Mingyun Village is mountainous, we can still make full use of the land efficiently.”

Keqing rattled off her findings in a steady stream, but when she noticed Ningguang’s distant expression, she finally lost her patience.

”Ningguang! Do you have any objections to my plan?”

Ningguang blinked, snapping out of her daze. Quickly shaking her head, she replied,

”Not at all. You’ve done an excellent job, Keqing. I was simply preoccupied with something more pressing.”

Keqing narrowed her eyes, clearly displeased.

”What could possibly be more important than land planning?”

Obviously, Ningguang couldn’t just say that she was sulking because Ganyu had acted way too fast. Fortunately, she did have some genuinely urgent matters on her mind…

”You haven’t been to that world these past few days, so you’re unaware of our progress,” she explained.

”We’ve already begun developing the Nether and are preparing for large-scale alchemical production.

”We’re also refining redstone technology, repairing the estate, and in two days, we’ll begin exploring new regions.

”Totems of Undying, redstone cannons, Nether fortresses…

”You’ve missed a lot of developments in just a few days.

”Besides that, I’ve also been considering when to convene the Qixing Conference again.

”During the Rite of Parting, I want to consult the Geo Archon about using lava and water to extend Liyue Harbor further out into the sea.

”Oh, and when you have time, you should review the latest financial reports from the Ministry of Civil Affairs.

”Our Mora profits have far exceeded expectations. And frankly, at this point, we don’t need to focus on making more money.

”The Golden House is currently stocked with hundreds of tons of gold. We don’t need to prioritize Mora generation anymore.”

Keqing froze, momentarily stunned.

After a long pause, she lowered her head slightly, her voice a bit dejected.

”I see… Things have progressed that much already…”

”Looks like I’ve really fallen behind.”

Ryen chuckled, patting her shoulder reassuringly.

”Don’t worry, you’ll catch up in no time. Just stick with us and explore the world together for a while.”

”Besides, your timing couldn’t be better.”

”Today, we unlocked a new mod.”

A new mod?!

At this, Keqing wasn’t the only one who perked up—everyone’s interest was immediately piqued.

The impact of the Chain Mining mod was still fresh in their minds.

And a mod… meant absolute god-tier technology.

Naturally, everyone was dying to know what this new mod was all about.

”Ryen, what kind of mod is it?”

Keqing stared at him eagerly, her earlier disappointment at missing out on the past few days’ activities completely forgotten.

After all, past events could be made up for later.

But missing out on a newly unlocked mod?

That would be a disaster.

However, Keqing had clearly forgotten something—last time they unlocked a mod, Ryen had deliberately kept them in suspense.

This time was no different.

Grinning mischievously, Ryen simply shrugged and turned toward the portal leading to the MC world.

”You’ll see for yourselves soon enough,” he said, leading the way. ”What I can tell you is that this is a mod we’ll be using constantly, even in the long term.”

”In fact, its significance may even surpass that of Chain Mining.”

”And, more importantly… the key to fully utilizing this mod lies with Ganyu.”

His cryptic explanation only confused them further.

Constant use? Greater importance than Chain Mining? Dependent on Ganyu?

None of it seemed to connect at all.

Still, curiosity got the best of them, and one by one, they followed Ryen back to the estate in the MC world.

For Keqing, after several days away, it was clear that a lot had changed here.

But she barely spared the place a glance before shifting her gaze back to Ryen, anticipation gleaming in her eyes.

”Ryen, now can you tell us?”

Smiling, Ryen nodded and activated the new mod.

In the next instant, a subtle shift rippled through the world.

Only Ryen could truly sense what had changed, but the air itself seemed to hum with something new.

”Seriously, do you have to be this dramatic?” Hu Tao rolled her eyes, just about ready to start roasting Ryen—

When, suddenly, from the corner of her eye, she noticed something strange.

Not far away, an unfamiliar block had appeared on the ground out of nowhere.

”Wait a second—that—”

Hu Tao gasped, pointing at the mysterious cube.

Ryen simply smiled and nodded.

”This… is our newly unlocked mod.”

”Its name is… Lucky Block.”
