Naruto: End of the Shinobi World

Danzō’s single visible eye narrowed slightly, a flicker of calculation passing through it as he rapidly weighed the risks and benefits.

Beside him, Neji watched Naruto—who had already made his choice, who seemed to have erected an icy wall around his heart in an instant—and felt a chill spread from deep within.

He knew that once certain paths were taken, there was no turning back.

Naruto was stepping willingly into a mire of conspiracy and darkness—the very place Neji had hoped he would never tread.

Beyond the ”heavens,” countless observers across the shinobi world held their breath.

They knew that one of Konoha’s darkest taboos was about to be exposed: the truth behind the deaths of the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, and the Nine-Tails’ Jinchūriki, Kushina Uzumaki… and the origin of Naruto’s hated title, ”demon fox.”

And when Naruto learned the truth—how devastating would the impact be on his already fragile heart?

The storm was only beginning to gather.

Danzō’s eye flickered again.

Naruto’s immense strength and the prestige he had earned from saving the village were a double-edged sword.

Handled properly, that power could become Danzō’s stepping stone back to the pinnacle of authority.

But if it spiraled out of control, the consequences would be catastrophic.

After a brief silence, Danzō gave a slow nod. The stiff corner of his mouth even curled into a faint, unsettling smile.

”Very well. Caution is a virtue,” he said, agreeing to Naruto’s condition. ”Tonight. Wait here. I will prepare the… relevant materials. You wouldn’t believe me if I merely spoke the words.”

The deal struck, Danzō said no more. Leaning on his cane, he disappeared silently around the corner of the ruins.

Only after Danzō’s presence had completely faded did the calm determination Naruto had been forcing himself to maintain collapse like a receding tide.

In its place surfaced something tightly suppressed—an unbearable mixture of anger, pain, confusion, and cold fury.

He suddenly drove his fist into the charred remains of a broken wall beside him.

Cracks spiderwebbed across the hardened stone.

Head lowered, shoulders trembling faintly, he forced out words through clenched teeth. It sounded as though he were questioning Danzō—

or perhaps questioning the very ”Konoha” he had once trusted without reservation.

”Who… has been hiding all this?”

”Was it you?!”

”And my parents… just who were they… that you had to hide it like this?”

”You all knew… didn’t you?!”

”Why was I the only one kept in the dark?”

”When you saw the way I looked at other kids who had parents… did that amuse you?”

Names slipped from his trembling lips like cold bullets:

”Kakashi…”

”Jiraiya…”

”Tsunade…”

”Third Hokage…”

Each name represented someone he had trusted. Respected. Even depended on.

Now, under the shadow cast by Danzō’s insinuations, they seemed tainted—transformed into possible ”insiders”… even ”accomplices.”

At last, Naruto slowly lifted his head. His blue eyes burned with an icy flame as he turned toward Neji, who had remained silent.

”The Hyūga Clan… they must have known too, right?”

It wasn’t truly a question.

It sounded more like a verdict—laced with despair and bitter irony.

In his current state of mind, the great, ancient clans of Konoha—their roots tangled deep within the village’s power structure—seemed anything but innocent.

Neji did not answer directly.

He did not defend the Hyūga Clan.

Nor did he attempt to comfort Naruto.

After a moment of silence, he spoke in a calm yet heavy tone.

”The Uzumaki Naruto I once knew was optimistic. Loud. Reckless. Even when he was ostracized or mistreated, he faced it all with the brightest smile. He believed that if he became Hokage, everything would change—that he would earn everyone’s acknowledgment.”

He paused, as if seeing that boy again—the blond idiot sweating it out on the training grounds, devouring bowls of ramen, laughing carelessly beside his teammates.

”But the Naruto before me now…”

His voice lowered, carrying a trace of pain—and caution.

”You’re intelligent. Calm.”

”You see through people and situations now. You’ve learned to hide your thoughts. To calculate.”

He looked directly into Naruto’s no-longer-pure eyes and asked the question that mattered most.

”Naruto… what happened?”

”What caused such a drastic change in you… in such a short time?”

It wasn’t only Neji who wanted an answer.

Across the shinobi world, countless unseen watchers shared the same doubt.

Naruto’s anger and anguish faltered slightly at the question.

He fell silent, as if sorting through the chaos within him.

Then, suddenly, the corner of his mouth curled upward in a faintly mocking smile.

”Neji… people grow.”

His voice was soft, yet carried a weary understanding beyond his years.

”Just like you. Compared to the boy you were years ago—the one filled with hatred, cold and distant, suffocating beneath ’fate’ and the Caged Bird Seal…”

”Haven’t you changed completely as well?”

He answered Neji’s question with Neji’s own story.

Growth always came at a cost—disillusionment, pain, the collapse of everything once believed.

Naruto’s ”growth” was simply more abrupt. More complete.

And darker.

Neji found himself unable to refute him.

It was true. He too had walked a path from hatred to acceptance, from resignation to the will to change.

But Naruto’s path seemed to be veering toward something far more dangerous.

Something far less controllable.

Silence fell between them once more.

Naruto did not tell Neji to leave.

And Neji did not depart.

They remained seated amid the cold ruins, waiting for the ”truth” that might change everything.

Across the shinobi world, as time passed and the tension deepened, hearts grew heavy.

”It’s over… Naruto’s descent is truly beginning…”

”With no influence restraining him, no warmth anchoring him—this Naruto is different…”

”He used to be a reckless prodigy full of potential. Now he’s awakened—and that’s far more terrifying.”

”And next to take the stage…”

”The orphan of the Uzumaki Clan. The Nine-Tails’ Jinchūriki. A prodigy blessed with overwhelming talent, a cold intellect, and a calculating heart—”

”Uzumaki Naruto.”
