NTR: Barbarian Harem Conquest

”Forty Menual operatives died in your courtyard last night,” the queen murmured, tracing a finger along the western border drawn on the parchment.

”Thirty-nine,” Kane corrected smoothly, stepping right up to the edge of the map table opposite her.

”One of them took too long to bleed out, so I helped him finish the process.”

She looked like a predator who finally found a suitable hunting partner and wanted to play.

”Chancellor Morvak finally overplayed his hand.”

”Sending a strike team into my capital is an undeniable breach of sovereignty. He foolishly handed me the political justification I needed to formally align my military with your little operation.”

’She wants to officially claim my victory without doing any of the bleeding,’ Kane deduced, resting his hands on the wood and leaning much closer.

”You want to fund my fight?”

”I want to fund your victory,” the queen whispered, walking slowly around the edge of the table until she stood mere inches from his chest.

The intoxicating scent of pine and exotic oils drifted from her skin.

Looking down, Kane admired the subtle rise and fall of her chest, fully aware that she intentionally positioned herself in his personal space.

”Keeping a wild dog off the leash usually ends poorly for everyone involved, Kane,” she continued.

”But putting a legitimate crown on that dog changes everything.”

’She’s trying to buy my loyalty while simultaneously trying to seduce me into submission,’ Kane smirked internally, thoroughly enjoying the sudden heat radiating between them.

’I guess it’s a very fun game either way, considering she rules the continent.’

”What kind of crown are we talking about?” Kane asked, his voice deliberately dropping an octave as he held his ground, refusing to step away from her proximity.

Reaching out, she casually brushed a stray lock of red hair from his forehead.

Her soft touch lingered just a fraction of a second longer than formal diplomacy ever required, her fingertips trailing lightly down his jawline.

”Border Lord of the Western Reaches in Sylvander,” she offered, her eyes locking onto his lips.

”It comes with full imperial funding to feed your rapidly growing barbarian army, complete logistical support from my supply lines, and my personal blessing to do whatever you deem necessary to Morvak’s remaining forces.”

”You want me to be your personal blunt instrument,” Kane pointed out, very aware of how close her parted lips were to his face.

”You pay the gold, and I break the empires you do not like.”

”I want you to be my apex predator,” she corrected, her breath warm against his skin, stepping back just enough to leave him intensely wanting more.

”Take the money, Lord Kane. Feed your loyal barbarians. Protect my vulnerable borders from those arrogant fools. And perhaps, when the war is won, we can discuss other mutually beneficial arrangements.”

Closing the remaining fraction of an inch between them, Kane let his hands rest firmly on her hips.

”Why wait until the war is won?”

Her eyes dilated rapidly, a smile spreading across her lips.

”Are you always this impatient with royalty?”

”Only when I see something I actually want,” Kane replied, pulling her against his body.

”Lock the war room doors,” the queen ordered softly, completely abandoning her regal posture.

”Already done,” Kane grinned, lifting her effortlessly onto the grand map table.

Kane’s hands remained firm on her hips, the heat of her body seeping through the silk of her gown.

The map table creaked faintly beneath their combined weight as she leaned into him, but he held her there, suspended in that delicious moment of anticipation.

Her eyes, dark and luminous, searched his face with predatory curiosity.

”You speak of crowns and borders as if they’re mere trinkets to dangle before a wolf,” he murmured, his voice a low rumble that vibrated against her chest.

One of his thumbs traced slow circles over the curve of her hip bone, pressing just enough to remind her of his strength.

”But I’ve spent days running wild across these lands. What makes you think I won’t turn on the hand that leashes me?”

The queen’s laugh was soft, throaty, sending a shiver down his spine.

She tilted her head, exposing the elegant line of her neck, and let her fingers drift from his jaw to the collar of his tunic.

”Because you’re no ordinary man, Kane. You’re a storm wrapped in red hair and scarred muscle. I’ve watched you shatter armies that should have crushed you. Morvak’s fools never stood a chance.”

Her nails grazed lightly over his skin, dipping just beneath the fabric.

”And storms... storms can be directed. Guided. Rewarded.”

She shifted closer, her breasts brushing against his chest with each breath.

The scent grew stronger, mingling with the faint musk of arousal already building between them.

Kane’s grip tightened, pulling her flush against him so she could feel the hard evidence of his interest pressing into her abdomen.

”Rewarded how?” he asked, his lips hovering a breath away from hers.

He could taste the sweetness of her wine from earlier on the air between them.

”With gold? Titles? Or something warmer?”

Her smile turned wicked.

She rose onto her toes, her mouth grazing the corner of his in a ghost of a kiss before pulling back teasingly.

”All of it. The gold will fill your war chests. The title will give your barbarians legitimacy, no more raiding parties hunted like dogs. My supply lines will keep your men fed and armed through the winter. But you...”

Her voice dropped to a whisper as she slid one hand up his chest, feeling the rapid thud of his heart.

”You, I want to reward personally.”

Kane’s free hand moved to the small of her back, fingers splaying possessively across the silk.

He leaned down, brushing his lips along the shell of her pointy ear.

”Personal rewards from a queen sound dangerous. What if I demand more than you’re prepared to give?”

She shivered visibly, a soft exhale escaping her parted lips.

”Try me. I’ve spent years surrounded by simpering courtiers and political eunuchs. None of them ever made me feel like this.”

Her fingers tangled in his red hair, tugging gently to tilt his head back so she could look into his eyes.

”You see me, Kane.”

”I see you. And I know what you want.”
