Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Chapter 602. Waiting for the Final Moment, Mount Hulong’s Mutation

Several months had passed since Lu Yuan repelled the invasion of the two factions.

The Celestial Court branch at Mount Kunlun had also been completed. The new branch nearly matched the Celestial Court’s forces at Mount Tai in both strength and reserves.

The forces stationed at both locations bore the enormous responsibility of monitoring the two sacred mountains.

Any development had to be reported immediately so the Celestial Court could respond the moment anything changed.

Everyone treated this responsibility with the utmost seriousness and refused to risk being caught off guard. Even the Celestial Soldiers and Celestial Generals stationed in the five supercities were recalled.

This reinforced both locations and ensured that no area was left unguarded.

Zhu Qingyu and the other core members were not concerned that recalling them would leave the ordinary citizens in the five supercities unprotected. The Celestial Court was completely different from before. Its strength and reserves had grown beyond recognition, and Lu Yuan had returned with terrifying power.

No Outer Cosmos being dared move against Earth anymore.

Those great clans all understood that if they angered Lu Yuan, they would likely face a devastating retaliation that no one could stop.

Aside from the top ten great clans, the Celestial Court had no need to fear any force in the cosmos.

The Celestial Court had attained such power in only a few years, something they would never have dared imagine in the past. Yet it had become reality. Zhu Qingyu and the others found it incredible, while even the Outer Cosmos beings could only marvel whenever they thought about it.

On Jade Emperor Peak at Mount Tai, Lu Yuan was still cultivating.

He had already reached the peak of the Celestial Seat Immortal Realm, though his fighting strength had not changed much. Further improvement at this level was exceedingly difficult, especially when he was already so powerful. If he wanted to grow stronger, he would have to break through again, but Lu Yuan could not do that yet.

Having reached a temporary limit, he ended his seclusion. For now, it was time to help the Celestial Court’s members grow stronger.

Thanks to the Providence Lu Yuan had continually bestowed upon them, a number of members had already reached the Immortal Realm. He hoped to help them advance even further.

Not long after, he summoned Zhu Qingyu, Ice Fairy, and the others.

Lu Yuan would personally guide their cultivation, while Jiang Ningxian handled other matters for the time being.

As a Celestial Seat Immortal, Lu Yuan had no difficulty guiding them. He also bestowed more Providence upon each person according to their individual circumstances.

With the Celestial Emperor’s Ancient Tokens and his present realm, he could control the process with great precision. Within a few days, everyone’s strength had risen another level under his guidance.

Zhu Qingyu and the others were amazed by the results.

They could certainly grow stronger through their own cultivation, but never this quickly or with such remarkable results.

Their reverence for Lu Yuan rose even higher than before.

Everyone understood that all of this was meant to prepare them for the upheavals ahead.

After doing everything he could for them, Lu Yuan inspected Mount Tai and Mount Kunlun.

Both were of paramount importance to Earth.

Lu Yuan understood this, which was why he focused his attention on them. The good news was that neither location had shown any sign of the mysterious black mist. Both remained unchanged and were safe for the time being.

During this period, Jiang Ningxian’s cultivation also progressed. She was close to reaching the Creation Immortal Realm, though she still needed further accumulation to break through.

After taking stock of her progress, Jiang Ningxian finally understood the helplessness her younger brother felt whenever he compared himself to Lu Yuan. No matter how hard either of them tried, catching up seemed impossible.

Lu Yuan’s cultivation speed was terrifying. His realm and strength had once been inferior to hers, yet he was already a Celestial Seat Immortal. Such progress was likely unprecedented throughout the entire universe.

One day, Lu Yuan and Jiang Ningxian stood side by side atop Jade Emperor Peak, gazing into the distance.

”I can sense that some of Earth’s rules are beginning to twist. That black mist isn’t merely changing the rules within a particular region. Its influence extends across the entire planet.”

Jiang Ningxian’s tone was grave. She was only a Grotto-Heaven Immortal and had mastered only the Grotto-Heaven laws. Even so, enough time had passed for her to sense the changes spreading throughout the world.

”That’s right, but there’s nothing we can do about it for now,” Lu Yuan said. ”The Extracosmic Heavenly Demons have prepared for this for a very long time. If we can’t destroy the altars in those famous mountains and great rivers, then all we can do is wait.”

They had already tried every other method they could think of. Even if they could not destroy the black altars, sealing them with formations would have been enough, but nothing had worked.

After exhausting every option, Lu Yuan understood that they could only wait for the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons to descend. Fortunately, they had completed every preparation within their power. If disaster still overtook them, it would simply mean they had been outmatched.

After a moment’s thought, Jiang Ningxian said, ”I only hope this moment comes as late as possible.”

The longer that moment took to arrive, the more they could prepare and the stronger their people would become. It might not make much difference in the end, but at least it would give them some peace of mind.

The two returned to their preparations and waited.

Time passed as the Celestial Court maintained strict surveillance over the various famous mountains and great rivers. Every development was reported immediately, but none of the information proved useful.

Then, one day, Mount Hulong underwent a sudden change.

Black mist spread out, and a dragon and a tiger rose into the air.

These manifestations were unlike any ordinary dragon or tiger. Both were completely tainted by the black mist, and careful observation revealed figures appearing one after another within the altar deep in the mountain.
