When I woke up, I was already in an unfamiliar environment.

The first thing I could discern was that it was a spacious and clean room, with a magnificent and vibrant carpet covering the floor.

I was lying on a luxurious bed that seemed only available in high-end hotels.

Wait, no matter how you look at it, this bed is too big; the area I can reach with my feet is less than half the length of the bed.

Could it be?

I stretched out my hands, which were the delicate arms of a child.

There was a full-length mirror by the bed, so I quickly got off to take a look.

Who is this?!

In the mirror was a completely unfamiliar child, about four or five years old, with short brown hair and a tender face that, by ordinary standards, could be called cute, but had completely lost the facial features of an Asian person.

Transmigration to another world.

This phrase was the first to appear in my mind.

After hesitating for a minute, I decided to crawl back into bed and continue sleeping.

This experience of having a child’s body but an adult’s mind is quite fresh and interesting, but it’s about time to wake up from the dream and return to modern life.

Compared to showing off in another world, modern life with a mobile phone and computer is harder to abandon. In fact, I honestly couldn’t live without them.

A few minutes later, my eyes opened again.

That’s strange, I know it’s a dream, so why can’t I wake up?

Pinching my face doesn’t seem to work either; nothing about this experience feels like a dream.

Could it be for real?

Sudden transmigration to another world… it’s not exactly sudden; I actually have a clue.

It’s not because I was hit by a truck or died suddenly from overwork.

To be honest, I don’t remember experiencing death. In the blink of an eye, I became like this.

Just a moment ago, I was sitting at my computer desk, having just finished reading a web novel titled—.

What was the title? Why can’t I remember it?

I probably forgot over the long period of following the chapters. After all, who remembers the long titles nowadays? At least, I wasn’t one of them.

Forget it, names aren’t important.

In fact, it’s a very common type of fantasy harem battle light novel. The plot is simple and cliché, and the settings are perfunctory and illogical.

In short, the male protagonist, despite his commoner background, possesses an overpowered ability.

He enrols in an academy, meets various beautiful girls, defeats all sorts of inexplicable villains, and incidentally teaches those arrogant noble clown characters a lesson, stealing all the limelight.

This tale has been pilfered from NovelPhoenix. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.

Finally, he naturally achieves a happy ending, congratulations, and lives a shameless, happy life with the beautiful girls. You could say hundreds of similar works exist.

In the past few years, these Western-style fantasy novels were indeed popular in the light novel genre.

Although other styles of light novels are now popular, transmigration-style novels always manage to hold a place in the top rankings of novel websites.

However, the light novel I read was not among the popular top-ranked ones.

Unfortunately, at the time I finished reading that novel, it had 103 reads, 2 favourites, and 1 like, a dismal number that could be described as completely ignored.

Despite this, the author continued to update intermittently for over a million words, surely possessing an unusually strong inner fortitude.

There are countless examples of works like this, where you can grasp the general plot from the synopsis, and they end up buried among thousands of others, yet continue to be updated.

As for why I managed to finish this novel, the reason was purely a whim.

In an era where fantasy school settings are no longer popular, someone was still writing such an old-fashioned plot, which surprisingly evoked a sense of nostalgia from when I first got into anime and manga.

Reading with this sentimentality and no expectations, the author’s uninspired but consistent writing even gave me a strange sense of comfort, as I had also experienced such a period before.

Thus, I vaguely and intermittently followed it to the end. Thinking about it now, I was indeed quite idle at the time.

And here’s the crucial part: after I finished the last chapter, the author left a message on the bottom line, ”If given the chance, would you be willing to live in the world of this novel?”

And below it were two buttons: ”Willing” and ”Unwilling”.

When I saw this, I was immediately dumbfounded, not knowing what the author was up to.

But I didn’t think much of it and clicked ”Willing”. Anyway, clicking it wouldn’t cost me anything; perhaps the author had prepared a surprise for readers who finished the novel. I simply thought so.

And I don’t remember much after that; when I came to my senses, I was in this current state.

”No way.”

A voice I had never heard before came from my own vocal cords, and the reality of transmigration to another world became increasingly palpable.

No matter how long I waited, there was no sign of waking up from the dream, and I had to consider the possibility of what to do if this wasn’t a dream.

If I really entered the world of that novel, then where is this?

It looks like a rich person’s room, but I remember the male protagonist did not grow up in a wealthy family.

All in all, the primary goal now is to confirm who I am. And whether this world is truly the world of that novel, I can’t rule out the possibility of it being a completely unrelated fantasy world.

”Young Master Robert, are you awake? Excuse me for intruding.”

With a few polite knocks, a young man’s voice came from outside the door.

From this, I could deduce that I seemed to have been born into a noble family with servants.

Is Robert my name? Is that name in the novel?

I tried recalling all the events in the novel. But I didn’t have a great impression of this name.

This name... At least he shouldn’t be a main character, and there aren’t many uniquely memorable supporting characters, so I can’t determine who he is yet.

The young man gently pushed open the door, seemingly considerate of me possibly still sleeping, but seeing that I was already up, he revealed a relieved smile.

Sure enough, he was still an unfamiliar person.

After all, that novel was originally just an unpopular novel serialised on a website; there were no illustrations, so Robert couldn’t connect character appearances with names.

”Who... are you?” Robert deliberately feigned a sleepy state and asked.

In any case, getting some information from the man in front of me is the most important thing. I am just a young child who can’t even speak coherently yet; a little rambling shouldn’t cause any suspicion.

”...Young Master Robert? Don’t you remember me? I am one of the stewards responsible for taking care of you in this Anglus Family. My name is Volth.”

”Vol...th?”

”That’s right, it’s Volth who wakes you up every day. You were already awake before I arrived today, which is remarkable.”

As expected, I still had no impression. Is this not the world of that novel?

By the way, the person who wakes me up is a steward, not a maid. This setting is not welcome. I strongly demand a pretty maid!

”You are... Volth.”

I pointed at him with my delicate little index finger.

”That’s right.”

Then I pointed my finger at myself.

”And I am?”

”Young Master Robert? Are you still half-asleep?”

Naturally, Volth looked puzzled.

I know Robert is my name, but what I want to know is my full name.

I complained in my heart.

In the worldview of the forgotten novel, nobles have both a given name and a surname, while non-nobles only have a given name, to distinguish their status.

Of course, there are also instances where people without surnames are granted one by those of higher status, but that’s another story.

Arbitrarily adding a surname to oneself is considered a serious crime; such a concept exists in the novel.

Of course, I don’t remember all the noble surnames in the novel, but if it were a high-ranking noble, I should have an impression upon hearing it.

”You are Robert von Anglus, the second son of the Anglus Marquis House.”

Robert von Anglus...

Robert von Anglus...

von Anglus...

Anglus...

Anglus...

No way?
