High Martial Arts: Enlightenment after Practices

Chapter 54: Chapter 54: The True Intention Emerges

On the fighting stage, Xu Wuyi took a deep breath, forcefully suppressing the searing pain from his left shoulder.

He channeled his Mountain Shifting Technique at full power. In his sea of consciousness, the illusory mountain peak trembled slightly, emitting a steady and heavy intention, causing the impact on his spirit to dissipate.

’If the effectiveness of my Visualization Method hadn’t also increased after I comprehended the True Intention of Martial Arts, the spiritual damage from that sword shadow wouldn’t have been so easy to alleviate.’

’Fortunately... I still have one last card to play!’

He slowly straightened up, his gaze locking back onto Su Yueling. The shock in his eyes had already faded, replaced by a faint trace of excitement.

He had finally seen his opponent’s true trump card.

An attack on the spiritual level? ’It’s a tough one, but the path of Martial Arts is all about facing challenges head-on!’

Su Yueling stood gracefully a few meters away, her cold eyes fixed on Xu Wuyi.

She didn’t believe Xu Wuyi could still turn the tables.

In her eyes, she had already seen through and countered Xu Wuyi’s strongest defense and his Hidden Force. The injury to his left shoulder would severely affect his ability to exert power—his defeat was already sealed.

All she had to do was repeat the process, find an opening, and deliver the decisive blow.

The venue was utterly silent; everyone held their breath as they watched the stage.

The students of Honghe First Middle School had sweaty palms, while the teachers and students of United Middle School looked on with anticipation, as if victory was within their grasp.

”Xu Wuyi is badly injured. His movements are definitely affected, which gives Su Yueling an even greater speed advantage.”

”The Shadow Sword Technique is just too unbeatable. How is anyone supposed to fight that?”

”Looks like United Middle School is going to win this one. Su Yueling has first place locked down!”

In the VIP room, Yan Zhishan nodded slightly and said to Chen Fan beside him, ”Su Yueling’s control over her Shadow Sword Technique has improved again. The condensation of that sword shadow is beyond what an ordinary Martial Artist could achieve.”

”It’s admirable that Xu Wuyi could withstand it without falling, his willpower is commendable, but... this is as far as he goes.”

Chen Fan pressed his lips together, not refuting him.

He was optimistic about Xu Wuyi, but in the face of this almost overwhelming power, it truly seemed there was no way to turn the tide.

On the stage, Su Yueling’s figure once again blurred into a wisp of light smoke, circling Xu Wuyi at high speed, her steps even more erratic and unpredictable than before.

Xu Wuyi’s expression was grave. His left arm was hampered by the wound, and his movements were indeed a fraction slower.

He still maintained the defensive stance of the Wind-Settling Spear, his steps steady as he adjusted his position.

But any discerning eye could see that he was struggling more than before.

After several rapid changes in position, Xu Wuyi exposed an even more obvious opening than before.

’Now!’

Su Yueling’s eyes narrowed. Her figure suddenly cut into the opening, bringing her almost body-to-body with Xu Wuyi!

She formed a sword with her fingers, and the pale sword shadow condensed at her fingertips once more. Carrying a sharp intention that could tear through anything, it mercilessly stabbed toward the vital point on Xu Wuyi’s right side.

With this strike, she aimed to end the match for good!

However, just as the sword shadow was about to hit its mark—

Xu Wuyi moved!

His move was no longer a block or a dodge. Instead, as if he had foreseen it, he suddenly twisted his waist and spun around!

The opening at his side, which had been exposed to Su Yueling, instantly became a direct, face-to-face confrontation!

There was no panic on his face, only a cold and resolute determination.

His eyes reflected Su Yueling’s face, now just inches away and showing a hint of bewilderment.

”Something’s wrong!!”

Alarm bells went off in Su Yueling’s mind. Xu Wuyi’s abnormal move was completely beyond her expectations.

Although she didn’t know what he was about to do, his posture clearly showed that he had been prepared all along; he hadn’t truly revealed a weakness.

The thought had barely crossed her mind when Xu Wuyi’s fist was already in motion.

There was no wind-up, no warning. The instant he turned to face her, his right fist shot out like a waking dragon emerging from its lair!

Its target: Su Yueling’s chest!

”What is Xu Wuyi doing?!” Chen Fan cried out in astonishment from the VIP room.

To clash with a Spirit Sword Shadow using a fist of flesh and blood was tantamount to severing his own arm!

However, at the very instant the fist and sword shadows were about to collide, something unexpected happened!

”HUMMM—!”

The Qi and Blood in Xu Wuyi’s body surged violently, and in his sea of consciousness, the dormant, illusory mountain peak suddenly erupted!

A vast, heavy will surged forth along his fist. It was formless and intangible, yet it made the pupils of the two proctoring teachers at the side of the stage shrink abruptly!

’Mountain!’

He roared internally, pouring his entire Spiritual Will into this one punch.

The True Intention of Martial Arts—Mountain!

Fully unleashed!

The fist and sword collided, but there was no sound of cracking bones or tearing sinew as expected.

The moment the pale gray sword shadow stabbed into Xu Wuyi’s fist, it was as if it had crashed into an invisible mountain wall!

The tip of the sword vibrated violently, its sharp, cutting power forcefully blocked, leaving only a few shallow, bloody marks on the surface of his fist.

”The True Intention of Martial Arts?! You...”

For the first time, a drastic shift in emotion appeared on Su Yueling’s cold face—it was utter, disbelieving shock.

But it was too late to change her move. The momentum of her sword shadow was spent, and Xu Wuyi’s fist was already upon her.

”BOOM!”

Her previously invincible sword shadow was now like a wave crashing against a reef, shattering inch by inch!

But Xu Wuyi’s Fist Momentum did not stop!

The True Intention of the Mountain gushed forth, a heavy, majestic will that suppressed all else, erupting completely.

As his will was pushed to its absolute limit, the faint image of a majestic mountain peak appeared behind him. Though blurry and indistinct, it made the entire audience gasp!

”BANG—CRACK!”

The fist struck home. Su Yueling felt an irresistible, immense force wash over her. Her arm bone emitted a crisp snap, unable to bear the load, and her entire body was sent flying backward like a kite with a broken string.

”PTUI!” Blood sprayed from her mouth, tracing a startling red arc through the air, before she crashed heavily to the ground.

The fighting stage fell silent for a moment, and the entire Martial Arts Center Dojo sank into a deathly quiet.

”Wh-what was that just now?”

”A mountain! I think I saw a mountain!”

”It’s the True Intention of Martial Arts! Xu Wuyi actually comprehended the True Intention of Martial Arts!”

”He was hiding his strength this whole time?”

”Trading injury for injury... that’s ruthless!”

”...”

In the VIP room, even Yan Zhishan, whose face had been as still as an old well, now showed visible signs of being moved.

He leaned forward slightly, his sharp gaze fixed on Xu Wuyi on the stage. ”It’s actually the True Intention of Martial Arts?”

Chen Fan was so excited he nearly leaped to his feet, his voice trembling. ”Mr. Yan, did you see that? The True Intention of Martial Arts!”

”And it’s not the kind one has just barely grasped, either! It’s a True Intention of Martial Arts that’s on the verge of fully forming. As long as Xu Wuyi follows the steps and continues his training, his path to becoming a Martial Artist will be completely smooth!”

Yan Zhishan nodded lightly. ”You’re not wrong... However, a Martial Artist is not the goal of our recruitment.”

”Regardless of this battle’s outcome, both of them are qualified to take the special recruitment exam for the ’Three Greats’.”

”Unfortunately, we only have one spot... In that case, I will report the situation and let Councillor Lin make the final decision.”

Chen Fan nodded emphatically.

The fact that Xu Wuyi could comprehend the True Intention of Martial Arts meant that, in terms of aptitude, he was a genius on the same level as Su Yueling.
