The Villain of Ancient Greece

”Buzz!”

The ground shook, the ether hummed, and a fierce blood-red light shot straight up from the center of the explosion, igniting the surrounding air.

Every incoming Hermean script, linear divine pattern, Titan holy word, and primordial letter was instantly scattered the moment it drew near.

Even large-scale spells, witchcraft, and ritual curses formed by combining incantations could not inflict any damage.

The moment those magical powers touched Lycurgus possessed by Ares, they were not so much resisted as instantly annihilated by the pure and tyrannical war divinity.

Even the few that slipped through the burning blood-colored radiance and landed on the King of Thrace were like sparks splashing on steel, unable to leave any obvious mark on that iron-hard body.

— Full magic resistance! Damn it!

Seeing the blood-colored figure stride out of the sea of fire under a barrage of magical spells and quickly close in on him, Lorne who had logged into his mage main account could not help cursing inwardly and immediately used the [Goat]’s divine speed to pull away once again.

For a mage, distance is life.

It gives the caster enough reaction time and a sense of security.

— Want to run? Coward!

Ares looked at the fleeing figure with a disdainful cold laugh, then leaned his body back, straightened the arm holding the wooden spear as every muscle bulged exaggeratedly under the skin and his whole body became like a fully drawn longbow.

The moment Lorne saw that posture and the wooden spear ignited by blood-colored war divinity, his hair stood on end.

He pushed the [Goat]’s authority to the limit, his body flashing and shifting through the mountains and forests, splitting into dozens of afterimages.

Almost at the same time, Ares swung his arm forward.

The blood-red wooden spear shot out, a string of sonic booms exploding one after another, nearly piercing the eardrums.

In the next instant the violent blood-colored torrent tore apart and annihilated everything in its path.

Even a mountain peak nearly a hundred meters tall was instantly pierced through, let alone the rocks, trees, insects, fish, birds, and beasts along the way.

Bang bang bang bang!

The split figures shattered one after another.

The real body that had been forced out sensed danger and urgently twisted sideways.

”Puff!”

In the end the blood-colored wooden spear that had burned out grazed Lorne’s cheek by a hair’s breadth, carrying a thread of golden-red blood, and embedded into the stone wall behind, its tail vibrating violently.

Tch, just missed.

Seeing that his confident strike had failed to achieve the expected result, Ares raised his hand displeasedly and retrieved the divine weapon once again.

Meanwhile, Lorne wiped away the bloodstain on his cheek, used that golden divine blood as ink, and rapidly drew his most proficient Hermean script in front of him.

Dozens of large and small magic circles instantly formed, like interlocking rotating gears, reconstructing the surrounding space, even the [World]!

For a moment the earth moved, wild winds danced, raging waves rolled, and flames gathered.

Still not giving up? It’s useless!

Ares looked at the four elemental powers surging and attacking wildly around him, coldly smiled, and swung the blood-colored spear in his hand.

Once struck by that wooden spear, no matter how precise the magic or how massive the elemental aggregate, they all collapsed and scattered.

In ancient Thracian mythology, like most ancient Southeast European myths, the world was composed of four elements: air, earth, water, and fire.

When earth, fire, wind, and water gathered into one, they forged the [Primeval Mountain] representing the origin, and the world tree [Great Palm Wood] was thus born.

With the conquest of Thrace, the concept of [World] was erased.

The death of the world tree [Great Palm Wood] began from the dissipation of the four elemental concepts that constituted the world, until the collapse of the divine core.

As a [remnant] symbolizing the death of the world, this divine spear containing the will of death could easily dismantle those so-called magics that used elements as the foundation to reconstruct the [World] and reproduce miracles.

This was also the reason he, as the King of Warriors, possessed such powerful magic resistance.

Had enough fun? My turn!

Ares swung his spear, shaking off the magical spells swarming around him, then grinned ferociously and strode toward the prey a hundred meters away.

However, just as he took a step, his body stiffened as he slowly lowered his head, the smile on his face freezing in an instant.

In his sight, circles of light patterns were lighting up under his feet, densely connected into one piece.

”Boom boom boom boom!”

Before he could react, violent roars followed and Ares, being caught off guard, was thrown high into the air.

Opportunity!

At the same time Lorne narrowed his eyes, instantly pushing his [Goat]’s divine speed to the limit as his body soared into the air and collided with Ares, who had no leverage in mid-air, at a speed faster than lightning.

The extreme-speed [Goat] disappeared, replaced by a huge demonic pig with sharp fangs and mottled fur.

— The [Wild Boar], a top-tier divine beast granted the authority of the Hunt Goddess, the embodiment of destruction in the mountains and forests.

Legend has it that it could shatter anything with a single strike and would keep destroying until the target turned to dust.

Its irritable personality and ferocious attack power made even tigers, leopards, and lions retreat.

”Boom!”

At the same time Lorne’s fists held together like siege hammers smashed fiercely into the target’s wide-open chest.

”Crack!”

Accompanied by a tooth-aching sound of bones shattering, Area, just like a meteor falling from high altitude and smashed heavily into the ground.

Instantly his vision went black, and dark-red blood spurted from his mouth.

And just as Ares’s consciousness was in chaos, the figure that had launched the shameless sneak attack followed like a maggot on bone, stepped heavily on his chest, further worsening the God of War’s injuries.

Damn it!

Furious to the point of extreme, Ares, using the pain to concentrate a bit of attention, immediately grabbed the opponent’s ankle with one hand and swung the wooden spear in the other hand, wanting to regain the initiative.

But the opponent decisively kicked him away, giving him no chance to counter.

Immediately afterward Ares smashed backward all the way, tumbling in a daze.

Before he could even land, the opponent who followed like a shadow had already used the divine speed authority to appear in advance at Ares’s falling spot.

Straight punches, hooks, sweeps, and whip kicks bombarded the body hosting the God of War’s will one after another.

For a moment the cracking explosions rang out like muffled thunder.

The dizzy Ares was like dough being slammed on a chopping board, enduring repeated pounding and ravaging.

”Buzz!”

Finally, large amounts of spilled divine blood turned into scarlet flames that burned fiercely, successfully forcing the opponent back.

Ares whose body was twisted out of shape slowly climbed up from the deep pit.

Under the flowing blood-colored flames, the broken bones automatically reset, flesh regrew, and even the head that had been twisted backward was straightened back with both hands.

The shocking scene in front of him was full of horror, like an evil ghost returning from hell.

Looking at the scene before him, Lorne immediately felt a headache.

Earlier he had used magic, authorities, and schemes to lure Ares into his preset trap, expose a flaw, then close the distance, activate [Infinite Martial Training] to bring his learned fighting techniques to the extreme, and successfully suppress the opponent.

But the moment he relaxed a little, this monster with a pile of fatal injuries fully recovered on the spot and even his momentum kept rising.

As expected, a main god who had transcended [Immortality] and entered [Indestructibility] was quite troublesome to deal with.

Even if it was just an avatar, it was far beyond what ordinary gods could handle.

Therefore, he had to achieve a one-hit kill!

A fierce light flashed in Lorne’s eyes.
