The Villain of Ancient Greece

Aura, companion of the huntress goddess Artemis, a chaste huntress.

She provoked the goddess’s wrath by comparing chastity and androgynous beauty with Artemis.

At Artemis’s request, the goddess of retribution Nemesis had the god of wine Dionysus violate Aura.

Driven mad by this, Aura became a ”man-slayer.”

When the twins in her womb were born, she devoured one of them; the other was saved by Artemis, who later became the god Iacchus.

Afterward, Zeus transformed her into a gust of wind, bringing the tragedy to an end…

Recalling the records in ancient Greek mythology about this breeze goddess, Lorne...the future suspect in the making, felt immense pressure.

To be honest, he might not be a saint, but atleast he was not a rapist.

Perhaps this might be the only reason he felt that he was different from the other Greek Gods but he didn’t feel proud about it.

After all, this was a basic human decency...forcing himself on someone and then letting mother and child turn on each other crossed his bottom line.

Besides, he wasn’t like Zeus or Poseidon who would fuck anything that moved…

Leaving a whole vegetable garden at home untouched only to go after a wild bean sprout out in the open, unless there was a hole in his head, why would he do that?

Just as Lorne was thinking about how to steer clear of this dangerous topic, Artemis had already made the choice for him.

—Moonlight spilled over the sea, shimmering and shifting.

The three-person patrol team paused slightly.

Then, as if receiving an unspoken command, their expressions hardened as they separated and ran in three different directions, gradually disappearing into the distance.

Aura, responsible for the near shore, headed west across the beach and into the coastal woods.

Bow in hand, she scanned her surroundings with vigilance.

Yet after walking deep into the forest for quite a while, the scenery remained nothing but trees and vines.

Occasionally, a startled bird or squirrel would dart out, making the tense huntress nearly loose an arrow.

Finally, after about a quarter hour of patrol, the breeze goddess, who had jumped at shadows more than once, could no longer hold back.

Making sure no one was around, she spat at the roots of a tree and cursed aloud.

”There’s nothing here at all. What exactly does Artemis want us to check? Has that woman been so busy flirting with that stinking man lately that she’s fried her brain?”

”Are you talking about me?”

At that moment, a quiet voice drifted from behind. Aura instinctively turned around and froze, her pupils shaking violently.

Under the brushing moonlight, the huntress goddess whose ”brain was fried” stood beneath mottled shadows, smiling brightly at her.

Beside the goddess stood that very ”stinking man,” one hand pressed to his forehead, as if he couldn’t bear to look.

Cursing herself for running into the person in question, there was nothing more awkward than that.

And one of them happened to be her direct superior.

”Gulp—”

The sound of a throat swallowing rang out clearly in the silent forest.

Aura gulped down a mouthful of saliva, her proud face turning pale.

”Y-you… when did you arrive?”

”Right when you said you wanted to sit in my seat…”

Artemis stepped forward, her smile gentle and radiant.

—Only, the mirth in those silver eyes made every hair on Aura’s body stand on end, her frame trembling uncontrollably.

As a native of the Greek divine age, she knew very well how vicious those goddesses could be.

Insulting her own patron goddess, and being caught on the spot.

She could almost foresee that her end would not be pleasant.

Yet immediately after, Aura’s gaze fell upon the two tightly clasped hands under the moonlight, and her expression turned to one of pure shock.

”You two are actually having an affair?”

A moment later, the huntress’s eyes lit up as if she had thought of something. A wild, ecstatic joy burst across her face, like someone who had grabbed a lifeline—and she let out a triumphant, cold snort.

”I won’t tell anyone about you and this stinking man, but in exchange, Goddess, you didn’t hear anything I said just now!”

”…”

Ah ...Lorne let out a low sigh.

Looking at the smug breeze goddess before him, he gave up resisting altogether and closed his eyes.

He had seen people courting death before, but someone rushing headlong toward reincarnation like this was a first.

Only someone sheltered too well by her parents could be so foul-mouthed and self-righteous.

Did she really not think about what it meant for a virgin goddess like Artemis to hold a strange man’s hand and openly appear before her?

Besides, she was alone right now…

Seeing all this and not thinking about saving herself, but daring to threaten and mock her own patron deity?

Young lady, just how many lives do you think you have?

At that moment, hearing Aura call him ”stinking man” again and again, the smile on Artemis’s face grew ever more brilliant as she slowly raised her hand.

”Buzz!”

In an instant, the cold moonlight in the night sky poured down like a river of liquid silver, crashing straight onto Aura’s body.

”Bang!”

The proud breeze goddess was struck as if by lightning.

With a thud, she collapsed to her knees, utterly unable to resist, as the sound of bones straining under unbearable pressure echoed through her body.

Then Artemis turned her head, gazing at her lover with tender affection.

”What position do you like? From the front, or from behind?”

”…” Hearing those dangerously provocative words slip out, cold sweat beaded on Lorne’s forehead.

This topic felt a little risky, didn’t it?

”Not decided yet?”

Artemis blinked.

There was no anger on her face, only a smile as she curled her finger forward.

”Crawl over…”

Instantly, the Aura kneeling on the ground felt a searing pain explode in her heart as an irresistible force surged through her body along with boiling divine blood.

Moments later, the once-arrogant breeze goddess moved on all fours like a puppy that had just learned to walk, stiff and mechanical, crawling across dry leaves to the pair.

Artemis slightly lowered her arm, cradling that terrified, beautiful face in her fair palm.

Her fingertips gently scratched and stroked Aura’s chin, as if teasing a gorgeous yet temperamental human-shaped dog.

”’Stinking man’? You’re kneeling right in front of him now…”

”…”

Unable to control her body, Aura couldn’t speak, but a furious flame seemed to dance in her eyes.

She had never suffered such humiliation in her life.

Not convinced?

Seeing that defiant gaze, Artemis’s smile widened.

As the goddess of the hunt, her favorite prey was always the kind that was hardest to tame.

Snap!

With a crisp snap of her fingers, Aura, prostrate on the ground, lowered her head and rubbed her cheek against Lorne’s pant leg.

With the crisp sound of a finger snap, Aura bowed her head while prostrate on the ground, rubbing her cheek against Lorne’s trouser leg. Then, against her will, she opened her lips and extended her pink tongue, lowering her head to lick at the ”stinking man’s” instep.

Like an oversized human-shaped dog, currying favor with and clinging to its master…

As the tongue, slick with glistening saliva, was about to touch his foot, Lorne reflexively stepped back.

”What? You don’t like it?”

Seeing her lover recoil, Artemis tilted her head, looking at the obvious heat surging below him with confusion.

Lorne looked down at the face beneath him, shame-filled and numb, and sighed helplessly.

”No need to go that far…”

”She insulted you. This is the punishment she deserves.”

Artemis gazed softly at her lover, stating it as if it were only natural.

So that was the reason…

Looking at that breathtaking face under the moonlight, pure yet threaded with madness, Lorne’s heartbeat unconsciously sped up.

So fucking overwhelming....

To be honest, he had never encountered a girl this emotionally intense and proactively affectionate in his entire life.

So beautiful...so passionate..so made...

It made one want to flee, and yet, just as strongly, to sink into it.

In their brief exchange of gazes, Artemis smiled sweetly, looking utterly compliant.

”But since you don’t like it, then forget it. I’ll release her right away.”

”Release her? I never said that.”

Lorne smiled and shook his head lightly.

Let her go? Don’t be ridiculous.

This woman had seen everything between him and Artemis with her own eyes.

Letting her run around spreading rumors would be a huge problem.

Besides, he had heard every single ”stinking man” she spat along the way.

Although he wasn’t as petty minded as many of his family members...by proud family tradition, his heart happened to be just as small.

However, compared to forcing himself on someone, Lorne cared more about maximizing benefits.

”I mean, she has other uses…”

Hearing this, Artemis nodded without hesitation. ”Up to you, use her however you want!”

With the huntress goddess’s authorization granted, Lorne looked again at the human-shaped dog lying on the ground, a meaningful smile appearing on his face as a faint crimson glow surfaced at the tip of his raised right finger.

The ominous aura of blood and madness spread and Aura, prostrate on the ground, stared in terror, shivering to her core.
