Gun of Ashes

Lorenzo de’ Medici ultimately still died.

There was no sadness, nor any other emotion. Lawrence just felt a bit sentimental that such a terrifying guy ended up with this kind of fate.

”Do these things matter?”

Lorenzo asked softly.

”It doesn’t matter, sorry for interrupting you, let’s continue.”

The current slaughter was the main focus. Lawrence’s voice carried joy as he raised the Nail Sword, taking an offensive stance. It had been a long time since he had fought so freely and fiercely. There were times he almost forgot the feeling of holding a sword. He truly thanked Lorenzo for reminding him of all this.

Lorenzo did not attack rashly. Winchester hung at his waist, one hand holding the Nail Sword, while the other was hidden in the shadows.

From certain angles, he and Lawrence seemed to be evenly matched at the moment.

Through the fierce battle just now and repeated probing, Lorenzo discovered a surprising fact. Lawrence seemed no longer able to foresee the future, meaning he had lost the Authority of Shangdafeng.

The deadly battle on the train indeed killed him, it was just in the end he used the Authority of Gabriel to escape.

And now Lawrence probably wasn’t aware that he too possessed the Authority of Gabriel... Perhaps he had a vague suspicion, but he couldn’t be sure of anything until Lorenzo revealed it himself.

This was Lorenzo’s chance of victory. To eradicate Lawrence, he needed to destroy his body and find an opportunity to fight in the [Gap].

Thinking of this, Lorenzo felt a tinge of fear. He was very aware of the enigma and eeriness of the [Gap], as well as its interference with the ”self.” Only after coming into contact with these did he realize how terrifying Lawrence was, who traversed the [Gap] at will. No one’s thoughts could disturb him, akin to a cold machine, faithfully executing his will.

”Here I come, Lorenzo!”

The shout interrupted Lorenzo’s thoughts.

Lawrence rushed toward him with fierce sword momentum, bringing the intent of Steel Breaker.

Both were monsters, immortal creatures. No matter how severe the injuries, they would easily recover under bodies mixed with the flesh and blood of Silencers, not to mention they could invade [Gap] using the Authority of Gabriel.

It was as if fuel was added to the raging fire, the flames seethed with fury between the gaps in the armor.

In an instant, Lorenzo appeared like daylight descending, the blazing sun dazzling, its momentary brightness briefly affected Lawrence, and then Lawrence’s sword blade slashed into thin air.

Lorenzo dodged the blade, brushing past Lawrence’s body, angrily swinging his sword.

From top to bottom, this strike would cleave Lawrence’s body entirely. With the Demon Hunter’s unimaginable power, even steel would crumble under the Nail Sword.

Lawrence couldn’t dodge, he had indeed lost the Authority of Shangdafeng. Otherwise, as before, Lorenzo wouldn’t have had the chance to attack him, he seemed to know the trajectory of every descending blade, finding a safe gap within.

”I thought you would be more composed.”

A voice echoed, and then another flash of cold light appeared in Lorenzo’s eyes.

In his blind spot, Lawrence grabbed another Nail Sword. He seldom used dual swords, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t skilled.

The blades clashed together, the tremendous force slightly pushing Lorenzo aside, and at the same time, the other sword blade, that had missed, returned to slash. The roles of attack and defense reversed in an instant, the Nail Sword fiercely hacking onto Lorenzo’s armor, with intense vibrations bringing forth blood.

”Indeed, my armor is still not strong enough...”

Feeling the sharp pain, Lorenzo said somewhat self-deprecatingly, facing a monster like Lawrence, no preparation was ever enough.

Though injured, Lorenzo hadn’t lost this round yet.

”Lawrence, have you learned to embrace modern technology?”

Lorenzo mocked Lawrence again, his voice filled with delight.

Raising his other hand swiftly, Lawrence only saw a pitch-black shadow striking his chest, instinctively raising the Nail Sword to defend, attempting to cut off Lorenzo’s arm.

Boom——

A dull explosion sounded, the Nail Sword wielded by Lawrence shattered, instantly broken into countless metal fragments by the Armor-Piercing Hammer, slicing everything in its path, piercing into the flesh.

In the instant impact, the internal Lacquered Antimony exploded, propelling the hammer tip for a secondary thrust, shattering the raised Nail Sword to pieces.

But it wasn’t over, Lorenzo’s hammer-swinging motion continued, the fragments slicing the armor, and the judgment hammering continued to fall, this time Lawrence could not block it.

His entire chest caved in under Lorenzo’s fierce blows, blood spilling from under his mask, the continuous sound of bones shattering.

Lawrence was smashed into the ruins, smoke swirling around. Influenced by the hammer strike motion, for that fleeting moment, Lorenzo continued the hammering movement. Without a moment to breathe, the cold sword light drove away the stirred dust, the blade slicing toward Lorenzo’s throat.

Lorenzo tried to dodge but found his hammer-wielding arm was seized by Lawrence. Enduring such an attack, he still had the strength to fight, mounting an absolute counterattack at that moment.

The distance was insufficient.

According to Lorenzo’s judgment, the Nail Sword couldn’t injure him, but just before it was about to fall, the length of the Nail Sword suddenly increased by a few inches.
