Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1880: Chapter 1890: Frankly Saying She Isn’t Fit to Be a Spokesperson

The Thai seafood restaurant booked by Enna Clark was one of the most famous restaurants in Linton City.

Because she was hosting a formal dinner for Prada and Mrs. Hadley, she gritted her teeth and reserved the whole restaurant.

So when they arrived, the exquisitely decorated restaurant only had their group. After the waiter led them to their reserved seats, he gracefully distributed the menus to the four of them, ”Hello, this is our menu, please make your selections.”

Prada, still in the suit from the curtain call, was the first to order a few dishes. Mrs. Hadley followed suit and ordered a few as well. After Enna Clark selected a few, Olivia Lewis added two more dishes out of courtesy. The group then returned the menus to the waiter, who promptly went to prepare the orders.

Another waiter poured red wine into the tall glasses before them.

The stern and aloof power woman sipped her red wine, and her strong, stern expression softened a bit. Her sharp gaze fell on Olivia Lewis, who sat next to Enna Clark, as if scrutinizing something, then after a moment, she put down the wine glass and was the first to speak, ”Ms. Lewis, Enna previously recommended you to me. I find you quite interesting, so I had someone look into your credentials. To be honest, your resume is excellent and fits the conditions for the spokesperson I’m looking for.”

Olivia Lewis, no fool, could tell there was more to come. She didn’t rush to speak, her clear and bright eyes looked at the other party, waiting for what would follow.

A trace of appreciation flashed in Prada’s eyes, and she continued, ”But there’s been quite a stir in your recent personal life. You should be very clear that a big brand requires its spokespersons to have a positive and uplifting image, one without negative news. Ms. Lewis, you’ve had too much negative news recently. As the brand director, I have to be responsible for the whole brand, so I’m sorry, I can’t choose you to be our regional spokesperson for this season.”

Enna Clark didn’t expect Prada to be so blunt before they’d even started eating.

She felt anxious for Olivia Lewis and was just about to speak up in her defense.

Olivia Lewis blinked and seemed to relax, letting her shoulders down, and smiled as she touched her nose, ”Hahaha, so direct. I was just wondering how I could perform to make you like me. I didn’t expect to be out before I even got the chance to perform.” How embarrassing. But this also meant she could enjoy the meal freely later without worrying about her image or how well she performed.

Prada didn’t expect her to react like this.

In most cases, when a female star gets rejected by her, they would try every way to defend themselves or hurry to explain in order to secure the endorsement opportunity.

Olivia Lewis was the first she met who, after being clearly rejected, still let out a sigh of relief.

She folded her hands on the table, surprised, ”Ms. Lewis, are you not going to try?”

Olivia Lewis was already munching on the fruit on the table. At her words, she looked up, surprised, ”Didn’t you make it very clear? You didn’t reject me because you didn’t like me or because my credentials weren’t enough, but because I’ve had too many scandals recently and my public image isn’t good. Scandals, I can’t change, so there’s nothing I can do about it. As for other things that I can try to fight for, I’ve tried my best. After trying and still failing, it’s better to happily accept it than to feel dissatisfied.”

If she really didn’t want to try, she wouldn’t have shown up here today.

Primarily because Prada had made things very clear, and she couldn’t possibly turn back time to before the scandal incident.
