Super Gene Hunting Ground

If it weren’t currently wartime between the Witch Star people and the Dwarf Star people, this ”archaeological” discovery of Great Elder Gu Bo’s would definitely shake the entire Witch Star, on par with when Darwin published the theory of evolution on Earth back in the day.

Even Yang Xiao had to admire Elder Gu Bo’s astonishing discovery.

”Great Elder, is your discovery really true? Do you really think so?”

The Fifth Elder of the Elder Court asked.

Obviously, everyone present had been stunned by Gu Bo’s shocking discovery.

The people of any planet are always full of curiosity about where they came from.

Although Earth scientists proposed that humans evolved from apes, this has always been only a scientific hypothesis, never proven.

And indeed, some have raised the question: with so many monkeys and apes on Earth, ever since human history has been recorded, why has there never been a single ape that evolved into a human?

And how exactly does the qualitative leap of species evolution occur? Why did reptiles evolve into flying birds?

In short, everything about the evolution of humans on Earth is scientific conjecture. No one can prove it in a lab.

It’s just like the question of how the universe came into being.

How big is the universe, really?

What lies beyond the universe?

All these questions can only be guessed at and can’t be proven.

The Witch Star people are the same; there are all kinds of theories about the origin of the Witch Star people, and one or two viewpoints that are generally accepted.

But today, Elder Gu Bo’s new argument is completely different from all previous views and is enough to shock all Witch Star people.

The White Elephant Emperor looked at Gu Bo, his gaze hazy and confused.

”Great Elder, according to what you’re saying, we Witch Star people come from Earth?”

Gu Bo chuckled and asked in return,

”Is there anything wrong with that?”

The White Elephant Emperor glanced at Yang Xiao, then shook his head and said:

”I can’t put it into words exactly, it just feels weird.”

”If I tell you further that, after activating Genetic Evolution, people on Earth, on average, perform better than we Witch Star people, can you make sense of that?”

”I can’t make sense of it.”

”It’s actually easy to understand. It’s that Earthlings are closer to the source of the original Beast Soul than we Witch Star people are. The Beast Soul information preserved in the genes of Earthlings is clearer and more distinct than in ours. So once their Evolution function is activated, their performance will be better.”

The White Elephant Emperor licked his lips and said:

”Great Elder, does this have anything to do with how we’re dealing with the Dwarf Star people today?”

The White Elephant Emperor finally couldn’t help but drag the meeting back to its main topic.

The Second Elder immediately echoed:

”Great Elder, the question of the origin connection between Earthlings and Witch Star people can be discussed later. Right now the most urgent issue is how to handle the Dwarf Star invasion.”

Gu Bo gave the two a look, shook his head in disappointment, and then asked Yang Xiao,

”Yang Xiao, do you understand?”

Yang Xiao scratched his head and said with a smile:

”I can more or less guess some of your ancient ideas. Since Earthlings show superior performance in Genetic Evolution, maybe we can cultivate stronger Evolvers among the people on Earth to resist the invasion of the Dwarf Star people.”

”Smart!”

Gu Bo slapped the table and cried out. Then he turned to the Second Elder, the White Elephant Emperor and the others:

”You really are getting old, muddle-headed. You can’t even catch such an obvious point?”

The White Elephant Emperor was unconvinced.

”Even if you’re right and Earthlings evolve faster, it’s still impossible to cultivate someone who can fight Thanos Saint in a short time, right? A distant cure won’t quench our present thirst!”

”Yeah, how are we supposed to deal with the Dwarf Star people right now?”

Everyone chimed in.

At this moment, Gu Bo’s expression also changed; his face was full of melancholy. After pondering for a moment, he said:

”Although I haven’t been on Witch Star these years, I do have a rough understanding of Witch Star’s situation through the branch system of the Genetic Store outside.

I have a few ideas; I’ll put them out there for your consideration.

In order to leave behind a population for our Witch Star people to continue multiplying, and to become stronger someday, we must select a portion of young Witch Star people to emigrate.

There are two main destinations for the migration: one is Purple Origin Star, and one is Earth.”

Gu Bo said to Yang Xiao:

”Yang Xiao, you are now both the Earth King and the Great Chief of Purple Origin Star. I’ll have to entrust both of these matters to you.”

Everyone present suddenly realized just how important Yang Xiao in front of them was; he was tied to the future life and death of the Witch Star people.

Even the White Elephant Emperor was looking at Yang Xiao with an expression full of respect.

Yang Xiao thought for a moment and said:

”Witch Star is facing a great calamity. To just stand by and ignore it—I can’t do that. But whether it’s Purple Origin Star or Earth, both were once grievously harmed by you Witch Star people.

On Purple Origin Star, the natives were slaughtered by you to the tune of several million.

On our Earth, humanity was even more cruelly butchered by you—tens of billions died.

Now, whether it’s Earthlings or the Guangfu Clan of Purple Origin Star, deep down they’re all filled with hatred toward the Witch Star people.”

When Yang Xiao said this, he swept his gaze over everyone.

The atmosphere in the conference room was very heavy.

In the past, Witch Star people slaughtered and enslaved people of other planets, ignoring others’ lives. Now it was their turn to be invaded by the Dwarf Star people, facing the same fate once suffered by Earthlings and the natives of Purple Origin Star.

Only at this moment did they truly taste what it was like in a desperate situation.

Gu Bo stood up and gave Yang Xiao a deep bow.

Yang Xiao was taken aback and hurriedly stood up.

”Elder Gu, what are you doing?”

Gu Bo raised his head and said very solemnly:

”Yang Xiao, we Witch Star people have indeed done many wrong things, especially in the matter of conquering alien planets, where we acted with extreme cruelty and utter inhumanity.

Although I have never approved of their methods, I had no authority to oppose or stop them. As the Chief Elder of the Genetic Store, I feel very ashamed in my heart.

Here and now, I am willing to represent the Witch Star people and extend a deep apology to the people of Earth and the people of Purple Origin Star.”

As he spoke, Gu Bo bowed deeply again.

Yang Xiao hurriedly helped Gu Bo up and said:

”Elder Gu, those are sins committed by others; they have nothing to do with you. You don’t need to apologize to me. Your Genetic Store actually helped us Earthlings get through the initial crisis.

All these years, if it weren’t for your care, I, Yang Xiao, wouldn’t be where I am today, and I would never have been able to personally avenge my compatriots on Earth.”

When Yang Xiao said this, Long Jing, standing to the side, looked extremely embarrassed.

After all, it was the Great Dragon Empire that had implemented the Genetic Hunting Ground plan on Earth back then; the Great Dragon Empire was the most direct murderer.

”Elder Gu, you can immigrate over, but you must accept the local administration. You absolutely must not stir up trouble again, otherwise I will never tolerate it. When that time comes, I won’t care whose Imperial Royal Family descendant it is—they will be killed without mercy.”

Yang Xiao’s words were domineering, and now he had the standing to say them.

Not only had he himself broken through to the Emperor Level Realm, but the Guangfu Clan on Purple Origin Star was now also a powerful organization, and the Earthlings, after these years of Evolution, had gained considerable Combat Power.

When the White Elephant Emperor and the others heard this, a faint chill surged in their hearts.

Gu Bo swept his gaze over everyone and said coldly:

”All of you present here, together represent the Witch Star people. Bow and apologize to Yang Xiao, to his Earth compatriots, and to the compatriots of Purple Origin Star, for the sins you once committed.”

Everyone was startled when they heard this and stared blankly at Gu Bo.

Bow and apologize to Yang Xiao?

Gu Bo looked at the Second Elder and said lightly:

”Wherever Witch Star colonizers expanded to, our Genetic Store followed there. Objectively speaking, we were also accomplices in their slaughter.

Now Witch Star is facing the same kind of catastrophe. Have you still not awakened? Do you feel no shame or guilt at all for the mistakes you once committed?”

The Second Elder and the others immediately bowed to Yang Xiao and said:

”Young Master Yang, we’re sorry!”

Wanyan He also bowed and said:

”Brother Yang, our Flying Leopard Empire once slaughtered many native wildlings on Purple Origin Star. I apologize to you and beg your pardon.”

Long Jing looked at Yang Xiao, waves surging in her heart, and finally bowed and said:

”Yang Xiao, on behalf of my father the King, my royal brother, and the Great Dragon Empire for the mistakes they once committed, I express to you and your compatriots my deepest apology and remorse. If possible, I’m willing to provide some help to your compatriots on Earth—for example, compensation in the form of a huge sum of Crystal Coins.”

Gu Bo immediately said:

”Yang Xiao, I’ve already thought it through for you. For the next ten years, all Evolution resources needed by Earthlings will be provided free of charge by our Genetic Store, not a single coin taken.”

”Ah? This… how could I possibly accept that?”

Yang Xiao was also somewhat shocked. This was an astronomical figure; of course, he wanted it in his heart.

Gu Bo chuckled and said:

”You should accept this money. And although I’m giving it to you for free, I’ll apportion the cost from the Great Dragon Empire and the other Imperials. The Great Dragon Empire will bear sixty percent, and the remaining forty percent will be split among the other Empires of Witch Star. It can be considered a small apology from us Witch Star people to you Earthlings.”
