Super Gene Hunting Ground

Chapter 241: Chapter 241: Concentrate Resources, Prioritize Evolution

Taking advantage of the main core members being in Star Moon Town, Yang Xiao discussed another matter with everyone.

”From now on, we will concentrate all Genetic Evolution resources and give priority to cultivating a batch of Primordial Gene Intermediate Stage warriors. Xiao Zhe, Zhou Qiang, Long Yongjun, Huang Wen, Dai Yun, Feifei, Chen Fei, Chen Lu, Qin Yu, Deng Xiao, and others will become the first batch of priority candidates for cultivation.

Each Primordial Gene Intermediate Stage warrior roughly requires 100,000 Genetic Fragments. Zhou Qiang will assist Xia Luo in defending Star Moon Town, becoming one of the training targets,

Long Yongjun will lead all the Close Combat Beast Soul Warriors, a very important task, becoming the second training target,

Xiao Zhe will stand in for me managing the main urban area of Nanmu City, becoming the third training target; the rest will follow in turn,

After the first batch of Primordial Gene Intermediate Stage people breakthrough, then we will concentrate resources on cultivating Xia Luo, allowing Xia Luo to reach the Primordial Gene Advanced Stage.”

After Yang Xiao laid out this proposal, everyone present was inwardly thrilled.

Now the population of Nanmu City has exceeded twenty thousand, and as more and more people don protective Hard Armor, emerging from subway tunnels and houses, everyone’s need for Evolution resources is a colossal number.

Currently, the main resource is only Ice Fish, and the resources we can gather daily are limited. If distributed evenly, it would result in Nanmu City lacking any strong warriors, all being a group of weak sheep, which, once faced with war, would be crushed by opponents, the consequences unimaginable.

A hundred sheep cannot defeat a lion, nor even a wolf.

Take the war with Shanyun City, for example; if it weren’t for Yang Xiao’s extraordinarily powerful Soul Skill, just two heavy machine guns would not be enough to repel Yue Ying.

What Yue Ying and his people truly feared was Yang Xiao’s terrifying Soul Skill.

However, just one Yang Xiao isn’t enough to support the future development of Nanmu City – Nanmu City needs many more strong warriors like Xia Luo.

Once this batch of about ten Intermediate warriors grow up, Nanmu City will be able to confidently face the competition from Shanyun City in the future, and Yang Xiao will also be able to rest easy to go to the desert to slay monsters and level up.

As the first training target, Zhou Qiang was very excited.

”Boss, this.....”

”Stop talking nonsense; Nanmu City’s resources all added up are just about 100,000 Genetic Fragments. Tomorrow you will come back with me to the main urban area of Nanmu City and evolve your genes to the Intermediate Stage.”

After speaking, Yang Xiao then patted Zhou Qiang on the shoulder, saying earnestly:

”Zhou Qiang, you and Xia Luo are brothers; Star Moon Town is too important to us. I’m entrusting this place to you and Xia Luo, do you understand?”

Zhou Qiang said excitedly:

”Boss, rest assured, with me and Brother Luo here, people from Shanyun City shouldn’t even dream of taking back Star Moon Town.”

Yang Xiao then had Huang Wen take some of the weapons and Armor obtained from the desert to the Genetic Store for appraisal; many weapons had +7 Strength Attribute, which was very impressive.

Yang Xiao let everyone pick whatever they wanted.

Having stayed in Star Moon Town for one night, on the next day, he took Huang Wen, Long Yongjun, Qin Yu, and others back to the urban area of Nanmu City.

Xia Luo and Zhou Qiang, with a thousand elite, were stationed in Star Moon Town. Meanwhile, a thousand reserve personnel were stationed in a small town connected by a Transmission Array to Star Moon Town, making travel between the two places convenient.

The Transmission Arrays to and from various locations and Star Moon Town were opened, allowing personnel to be arranged to mine Ice Fish in Star Moon Lake every day. Due to limited logistics in Star Moon Town, apart from the permanent thousand, the rest had to return to their original bases for rest through the Transmission Array every day.

After returning to Nanmu City with Yang Xiao, Zhou Qiang upgraded his Genetic Evolution Level at the Genetic Store, broke through to the Intermediate Realm, acquired a new Soul Skill, greatly increased his Combat Power, and was overjoyed. He excitedly returned to Star Moon Town.

Yang Xiao stayed in the urban area for two days, listening to Xiao Zhe’s report on various arrangements and progress, and casually gave some guidance on work.

Now, with over five thousand more people obtaining protective Hard Armor, these people finally emerged from the subway tunnels and could move freely around the urban area, bringing some vivacity to Nanmu City.

To obtain the Evolution Genetic Fragments, everyone was organized to mine Ice Fish in the nearby Star River, while some people formed small teams to hunt other Mutated Creatures in nearby forests and the wilderness.

The entire city slowly entered a virtuous cycle of self-development.

”Boss, when are we going back to the desert?”

Qin Yu and Deng Xiao, Huang Wen, Chen Fei, and Dai Yun, five girls, surrounded Yang Xiao, itching to go.

After all, the desert’s resources came much faster than mining Ice Fish; the girls gained considerable growth in just over a dozen days in the desert.

”Just got out for two days and you’re already thinking about going back?”

Yang Xiao said with a smile.

”Isn’t that right? It’s too boring here, the desert is much better.”

”Alright, get ready, we’ll head to the desert tomorrow.”

”Yay, boss is the best.”

Qin Yu and others exclaimed excitedly.

After defeating Yue Ying and seizing Star Moon Town, gaining half of Star Moon Lake’s resources, Yang Xiao temporarily eased up on Nanmu City’s development concerns, as the surrounding cities lacked vast Ice Fish resources and wouldn’t pose a threat to Nanmu City in the short term.

However, Yang Xiao’s gaze shifted to the map, thinking about Magic City – Wentian City had already developed to level 25, and the many coastal cities would probably not lag too far behind in their developmental levels.

In the entire Xuanming Country, the southeast part bordered the sea with a long coastline. In the harsh winter, Ice Fish became the most important Genetic Evolution resource, so the entire southeastern coastal evolution pace would likely exceed that of the central and western parts.

Kongming City only belonged to the central region, and Nanmu City, luckily owning Xuanming Country’s second-largest freshwater lake, may have a more rapid acquisition of Genetic resources compared to many central and western cities, but it would certainly be slower than the eastern cities.

Yang Xiao then shifted his gaze to the world map; those countries completely resided within the sea, what would their genetic development pace be like?

With such thoughts, Yang Xiao felt an urgency. Now, the concept of nations is no longer present; the entire Earth has entered a post-apocalyptic state, akin to humanity entering a primordial society, with various races starting to compete anew on the path of Genetic Evolution. Once the cold winter ends, the world of the future will once again enter a journey of conquest and slaughter of the survival of the fittest.

Of course, this contemplation about the future world is something that Yang Xia kept to himself for the time being, without discussing with others.

Currently, it’s winter, the extreme cold weather prevents large-scale invasions by opponents; first, due to a significant reduction in population, second, the lack of long-distance transmission technology from the past, and for now, everyone could only rely on Genetic Store points to seek survival and development. Even within the cities of Xuanming Country, contact between them is rather difficult.

...

Yang Xiao entered the desert.
