The Divine Urban Physician

“Hey, Yang Qing, are you going to pay your respects to the master of the Blood Demon Mountain?”

“That’s right. A thousand years have not passed, so no new spirit tokens are available, so I can only seek him out.”

“The master of the Blood Demon Mountain Master is so strong, and furthermore, he has a strange temper. It’s not easy to climb the Myriad Demon Stairs!”

“We’ll have to wait until tomorrow to try and climb the stairs together. Perhaps with more people, the pressure from the Myriad Demon Stairs will be reduced.”

“That’s true…”

Ye Chen listened to the conversation between the two cultivators. His expression did not change but he was curious about the Myriad Demon Stairs.

...Both of them were young cultivators who had reached the fifth or sixth level of the Supreme Emperor realm. Logically speaking, cultivators at this level would be considered top-notch talents even in the Kunlun Mountains. Despite this, they appeared less than confident when it came to ascending the Myriad Demon Stairs.

It seemed that there was more than met the eye in this place, especially the Myriad Demon Stairs. He had to properly investigate this place.

Ye Chen soon arrived at an inn. He booked a private room and ordered some food from the waiter. Then, he took out a supreme-grade spirit stone and handed it to the waiter. “I just came here, so I need to understand the situation here.”

The waiter’s eyes lit up, and he quickly put it away and smiled. “Little Brother, you can ask me anything. I’ll answer all of your questions!”

Ye Chen nodded slightly, but smiled bitterly.

The waiter in front of him was an eighth-level Daoyuan realm cultivator. If a cultivator of this level was a waiter, then he could not underestimate this place. Once again, he was reminded that he had not reached the level where he could do whatever he wanted in the Kunlun Mountains.

“Give me a general overview of the Blood Demon Mountain and the situation here.”

“Also, tell me about the master of the Blood Demon Mountain.”

“Little Brother, you should be from the outside, right?” The waiter pondered for a moment before smiling.

“My bloodline is a little special, and I can sense things that others can’t. I noticed that although you’re a Daoyuan realm cultivator, your combat strength is at least comparable to a sixth or seventh-level Supreme Emperor realm expert.”

“A genius like yourself is indeed very powerful. It’s no wonder you managed to come here.”

“Anyway, this place is close to Spirit City and has a mix of good and bad. There are many cultivators from the reclusive families of the Kunlun Mountains here, but there are also cultivators from other planes, be it middle or high-level martial planes.”

“After suffering serious injuries, these cultivators had no choice but to find a quiet place nearby to recuperate. It just so happens that we have many seniors who retired due to injuries here!”

“Therefore, there are many of their disciples who want to enter Spirit City.”

“However, to enter Spirit City, you need a spirit token…”

The waiter gulped and continued. “Currently, only the master of the Blood Demon Mountain has one, and to prevent people from constantly bugging him about it, he erected the hundred-step Myriad Demon Stairs.”

“Since there are experts from other planes here, do they have spirit tokens?” Ye Chen asked.

“In the past, there were some of the older experts who had them. However, they’ve been used since then, and only after the thousand-year deadline is completed will there be more available for use.”

The waiter explained in great detail, “There are also some spirit tokens that were lost along with the deaths of their disciples who entered high-level martial planes. Therefore, the vast majority of their disciples are now on the Blood Demon Mountain!”

“Moreover, every year, these geniuses will organize a grand meeting to rope in the younger geniuses in an attempt to climb the Myriad Demon Mountain together.”

“This makes the climb a little easier, but since the appearance of the Myriad Demon Stairs 1,700 years ago, the highest anyone has ever reached is the 60th step!”

“The geniuses either couldn’t withstand the pressure and fell, or they would be attacked by the demonic beasts and poisonous snakes while climbing. Moreover, I heard that even if you succeed in climbing the mountain, the master of the Blood Demon Mountain has a bad temper. Little brother, you should also take note of this!”

“What’s the cultivation level of the master of the Blood Demon Mountain?” Ye Chen asked.

“I don’t know,” The waiter shook his head and said, “The master of the Blood Demon Mountain hasn’t fought for over a thousand years. I heard that he retired after being injured. I’m afraid only the top experts might have the answer to that question.”

“Thank you!”

Ye Chen then asked the waiter to leave as he started to piece together the information he had just received.

The master of the Blood Demon Mountain had a spirit token, but he had never given it to anyone. Was he worried that his spirit token would be lost if the genius he gave it to was killed in another plane? Or was there something else to worry about?”

Was he hiding because of injuries? Did he have enemies that were hunting him down?

Ye Chen did not dwell on this question for too long. Instead, he looked around the area at the foot of the mountain and asked around for information.

Sword Gate City, at the foot of the Blood Demon Mountain.

Ye Chen had heard Han Yun mention this place a few times. However, very few people from the Kunlun Mountains had ever entered Sword Gate City.

This place and the Blood Demon Mountain were forbidden areas of the Kunlun Mountains.

No one was allowed to enter, as entering was equivalent to courting death.

The city lord of Sword Gate City was a sixth-level Semi DIvine realm.

Moreover, there were many Semi Divine realm experts in this place, which meant that the overall strength of this place was much higher than that of the Kunlun Mountains.

The spiritual energy in the city was extremely dense, and its foundation far exceeded that of the Kunlun Mountains and Huaxia.

“It looks like I have to tread carefully,” Ye Chen muttered and began to cultivate in his room.

He was already on the verge of breaking through, and after what he had heard, he knew that he needed strength to overcome the challenges that he would face tomorrow, as he would have to try and ascend the Myriad Demon Stairs to reach the Blood Demon Mountain.

…

After a day, hundreds of geniuses left the city and arrived in the vicinity of the Blood Demon Mountain.

The Blood Demon Mountain was tens of thousands of meters tall. Red blood flowed down from the mountain, and dense killing intent surrounded the area.

From the amount of blood that was flowing, one could already imagine just how many cultivators and demonic beasts had died on this wretched mountain!

Ye Chen observed his surroundings and found many soul power remnants.

“At least a hundred Supreme Emperor realm experts and a thousand demonic beasts have died here!”

There were remains everywhere, and some of these remains even seemed to belong to experts that had reached the Overlord Body realm!

It was no wonder Wang Gantian warned him about how dangerous this place was!

Despite how terrifying this place was, the hundreds of geniuses were undeterred as they pressed on. Soon, they gradually arrived at the east side of the Blood Demon Mountain. They endured the dense killing intent around them and found the stairs that led up the mountain. The stairs were made of pure black Xuanwu rock and extended from the bottom of the mountain to the middle of the mountain. The difference between the highest and the lowest steps was at least four thousand meters.
