For some reason, Ye Chen’s eyes were moist.

He tried his best to smile and looked at Shi Zhenhai in front of him.

“Uncle Shi, It’s indeed men. Where is Shi San? Take me to see him. I still owe him a few drinks.”

Ye Chen did not dare to make wild guesses before he got a definite answer.

When Shi Zhenhai heard Ye Chen’s words, his eyes dimmed and reddened. His old hands trembled slightly.

“Little Chen, Shi San, he… He’s gone.”

“He left very peacefully, so don’t disturb him. This time, I came to the Medical God Sect to retrieve some of his things and burn them as an offering for him.”

Ye Chen was stunned when he heard this.

An invisible aura swept out. How could Shi San leave?

That was impossible!

!!..

Shi San was Shi Zhenhai’s third son.

His first two sons had fallen in the Kunlun Mountains, thus, in order to prevent Shi San from following in his footsteps, Shi Zhenhai made Shi San choose the Medical God Sect.

It was safer to be a medical practitioner than a martial artist.

In the five years that Ye Chen had been in the Kunlun Mountains, Shi San had gone through many life-and-death situations with him.

At that time, Ye Chen had not fully started cultivating, and was always in danger. Had it not been for Shi San, he might have died in the mouths of wild beasts countless times.

What left the deepest impression on Ye Chen was that Shi San had lost an arm in order to protect him!

Although the old man had used a technique to restore Shi San’s arm, there were permanent side effects and limitations. There were some things that even medicine could not fully cure.

Ye Chen had once vowed to himself that if he returned one day, he would repay Shi San’s kindness.

His mind recalled his days in the Medical God Sect. Shi San’s honest smile was still fresh in his memory.

“Little Chen, I, Shi San, don’t have any lofty aspirations in my life. I just want to marry a wife.”

“The Kunlun Mountains are very big. So big that I, Shi San, feel very small. I entered the Medical God Sect to embark on the path of medicine. When the time comes, I will be able to do something big by saving the sick and dying in the Kunlun Mountains.”

“There is a group of homeless children in the north of the Kunlun Mountains. They don’t have much talent and have been abandoned by the world. Some have lost their eyes, and some have lost their arms and legs. I think that one day, when I master my medical skills, I can give these people a second life. I want to let them know that there are people and warmth in the Kunlun Mountains. The pursuit of martial arts is not the only thing.”

“Chen, have you seen my fiancee? Back then, my grandfather had already set up a marriage agreement for me. No matter what she looked like, I decided that I would accept her. However, a few days ago, I accidentally discovered that my fiancee was simply like a fairy! I felt that I wasn’t worthy of her.”

“Little Chen, on the day of my wedding, I’m going to invite a few martial arts experts from the Kunlun Mountains to oversee my marriage. You must come and be my best man, but you can’t be more handsome than me on that day and steal my limelight.”

“Little Chen, although I wasn’t born into a top-tier family, I’m satisfied with this life. A beautiful wife, a few close friends, wine, and stories. This kind of life is really beautiful.”

“I heard that you’re going to Huaxia. The Kunlun Mountains aren’t that different from Huaxia, except that there’s less spiritual energy. Next time you come back, you have to bring me a beautiful sister-in-law. Although I hope that Ji Siqing becomes your woman, it’s impossible. It’s your fault for only entering the Kunlun Mountains now…”

Shi San’s words rang in his ears. It felt just like yesterday.

The Shi San he knew was righteous and optimistic.

His medical skills were excellent. How could he die?

Everyone in the world could die, but not the disciples of the Medical God sect!

Ye Chen retracted his murderous intent and suppressed it. He grabbed Shi Zhenhai’s hand.

“Uncle Shi, are you kidding me? That doesn’t sound like Brother Shi? Tell me, where did he go?”

Shi Zhenhai shook his head and patted Ye Chen’s shoulder.

“Little Chen, I’m not lying to you. He really left. There are some things that I can’t understand, but it has really happened.”

Shi Zhenhai’s voice was choked with sobs, and tears flowed uncontrollably from the corner of his eyes.

“From now on, my Shi family will have no descendants. I thought that he would be able to escape this calamity by joining the Medical God Sect and not having anything to do with the martial arts sects in the Kunlun Mountains. However, it seems that the heavens want to destroy my Shi Family, so what can I do?”

As he spoke, Shi Zhenhai felt as if he was about to break down. The emotions that he had been suppressing for the past few days were on the verge of overflowing.

His body also fell back weakly.

Ye Chen’s appearance was the last straw that broke the camel’s back!

Seeing this, Ye Chen quickly gathered his true qi and helped Shi Zhenhai up.

“Uncle Shi, what happened while I was away? Where did the Medical God Sect go? Where did Master go?”

At this moment, he was extremely calm. No matter what, he had to get to the bottom of things.

Fortunately, the Blood Alliance was looking for Ye Shitian, not him, and thanks to the mysterious force, his father was temporarily safe.

Shi Zhenhai calmed down a little and looked at Ye Chen again. He wanted to say something but did not say it.

“Little Chen, Shi San committed suicide. It has nothing to do with anyone. As for the Medical God Sect, they moved away two months after you left.”

“Shi San wanted to leave with you, but because of me, he stayed. He even said that if you came back one day, he wanted to inform you of what happened.”

“He said that there must always be someone from the Medical God Sect here.”

“Every few days, Shi San would come here to clean up the place. However, a month ago, for some reason, his personality became very solitary. He never came here again.”

Shi Zhenhai’s voice became softer and softer, before finally turning into a deep sigh.

Suicide?

Ye Chen sneered. Someone from the Kunlun Mountains had committed suicide?

Moreover, even if everyone in the world committed suicide, Shi San would not commit suicide!

Ye Chen’s expression grew colder and colder. However, the more he asked, the more Shi Zhenhai avoided him. It was as if he had something difficult to say. In the end, Ye Chen did not put him in a difficult position.

It would be easy to find out what was really going on with some investigation. There was no reason to reopen such painful wounds.

“Uncle Shi, my friend and I have something to do, so we won’t disturb you for now. I’ll bring some things and see you later.”

Shi Zhenhai saw that Ye Chen was no longer asking and heaved a sigh of relief.

“Little Chen, go ahead with your work. I’ll bring you to Shi San’s grave. I think he will be very happy to see you.”

“Alright, Shen Shixi, Xue Fenghua, let’s go.”

Ye Chen’s eyes darkened as he walked toward the entrance of the hall.

Shen Shixi and Xue Fenghua also followed.

After the three of them left, Shi Zhenhai let out a long sigh..
