Wizard: Stronger through Marriage

Chapter 1176: Chapter 543: Icefield Oath Alliance_2

At that moment, a sharp, piercing sound shattered the skies, coming from a sudden explosion and collapse in a certain direction.

As the shockwave spread, countless dark purple particles were mixed in, swirling through the air like obsidian fragments.

These particles possessed extreme destructive power, forming a stark contrast with the previous silver-gray hosts, adding an aura of deadly eeriness that made everyone’s muscles involuntarily tense, alertness heightened to the peak state.

”It seems we are facing a multi-layered attack.”

Amy looked contemplative, ”There are base level tendril-type parasitic mycelium, and modified species carrying High Tier Shadow Element destructive particles.”

”Do not panic.”

David called out, as a ghostly blue flame ignited around him, and a massive Frost Wolf phantom emerged behind him, fully armed as if fused into the Power of Nature.

He wielded his magic staff, directing the searing flames to transform into sharp Sword Qi, striking towards the nearest cluster of obsidian particle cloud, as decisively and resolutely as a beast tearing its prey.

Flesh flying and shattered space intertwined to form a heart-stopping scene, and the determination on his face nearly transformed into an eternal vow: ”This is our land, we will not allow these soul-eating monsters to touch it even a bit!”

After a lengthy battle, they finally gradually suppressed the initial impact wave.

The first battle drew to a close, yet the remnants of the icy wind on the ice field continued to howl, raising a sky full of snow dust like floating dust.

The twilight gradually faded, leaving a faint silver glow in the sky, but it still failed to dispel the oppressive atmosphere looming over the icy sealed earth.

David and Amy crouched behind a shatter rock, their breaths slightly hurried, faces stained with fine frost snow and thin sweat, yet their gaze remained firm.

”Looks like this battle is just the prelude.”

Amy tightly gripped her magic staff, gently blowing away the frost on the back of her hand, the light in her eyes shimmering with unyielding resilience in the dark night.

David slowly stood up, gazing around at the camp ravaged by parasites.

The silver-gray spores were temporarily suppressed, but the shadows had not completely dissipated.

He breathed in the frosty scented cold air deeply, ”We need to find the Star Pupil Race elder as soon as possible and reach an agreement with them, or the disaster will only worsen.”

At this moment, a faint figure appeared from the depths of the camp, an elder of the Star Pupil Race —Zelros, mysterious and aged.

His pale face contrasted with his stern icy eyes, like the coldest star in the night sky.

He was draped in a heavy silver-blue magic robe, each step resonating subtly yet determinedly.

”Sir David, Lady Amy,” Zelros’s voice was deep and magnetic, ”Thank you for your timely assistance, or my race might have faced inevitable doom.”

”Elder Zelros, we also thank your survivors for resisting persistently,” David replied with a gesture of respect, his gaze sweeping over the exhausted but steadfast crowd, ”Please tell us, why have you suffered such calamity? What is the Observer’s intention?”

Zelros sighed, leading them into a natural cave, a place of utmost secrecy protected by the Star Pupil Race for generations — remnants of ancient civilization, known as the ”Glacial Pact.”

The walls of the cave were covered in radiant frost runes, intertwined seals and contracts forming a mystical altar.

Inside the cave, the temperature suddenly rose, no longer bone-chilling cold but a tranquil yet powerful warmth surrounding the space.

Amy couldn’t help but reach out to touch the surface of the runes, which emitted faint bluish waves, resonating with her Domain Law control subtly.

Zelros looked at the crowd level-headedly, crossing his hands at his chest, revealing the truth in a low tone: ”Observers aim to devour the Ice World’s core energy, converting it into a hub to amplify their power, they manipulate parasitic spores as vanguard, continuously eroding our domain and soul.”

As he spoke, his voice trembled slightly but his eyes grew more resolute, ”This poses a catastrophic threat to the entire polar ecosystem and spatial stability.

Though our race possesses knowledge of Chaos Runes, we lack experience in expelling parasites, which is why we sought your help — Law controllers.”

David’s brows furrowed tight, realizing the situation was far more complex than imagined.

”If it is truly as you say, we are willing to remove the parasitic threat as a bargaining chip, to reach temporary cooperation with the Star Pupil Race.”

He paused, directing his gaze towards the camp’s somewhat battered yet spirited crowd: ”We will assist in eliminating invading enemies wholeheartedly, and hope to leverage your Chaos Rune knowledge as strong support for future struggles.”

Amy nodded in agreement, her voice firm: ”Only by uniting our strength can we truly guard this Far North land, preventing darkness from tearing the fragile barrier of the real world.”

Zelros’s face showed a rare relieved smile, as he stepped to the altar, pressing a hand against a complex engraving, a surge of ancient and chaotic aura instantly flowed, expanding in the air as invisible ripples.

”The alliance ceremony is about to begin, please prepare to embrace this eternal opportunity, connecting fate and granting both parties the foundation of initial power to resist the darkness...”

After preparing their weapons and protective equipment, the two teams converged at the altar center.

A mysterious ripple like water waves spread across the space, saturating the air with a sticky and textured feel, as if even the flow of time slowed accordingly.

Reina stood in the midst, deeply inhaling to feel the resonant pulse penetrating her soul, tears shimmering at her eye corners, an intertwining emotion of excitement and fear of the unknown challenges of the future.

”This is our hope ... also the test fate bestows upon us.”

She murmured to herself.

As the ceremony advanced, a brilliant silver-blue energy beam shot out from the altar’s peak, slicing through the dark sky like dazzling aurora.

This energy beam reached the void abyss, guiding endless Elemental Power to converge upon both core regions, infusing them with new bloodlines and spiritual pillars, signaling their unified resolve to resist calamity beginning to take shape.

Time seemed to stand still, their fears, desires, beliefs, and vows interwoven at this moment, forming an unbreakable consensus: the Observer must not be allowed to consume this cold yet vibrant earth; every effort must be made to protect the seeds of hope behind each crystal-clear crack...

As the final Elemental decree descended, a stable domain barrier emerged between the two camps, merging each other’s elemental advantages to form an impenetrable defense line, making the whole camp notably more solid and safe.

Meanwhile, they also gained numerous auxiliary abilities from the ancient Chaos Runes, making their future battles more effortless and strategically advantageous...

After the ceremony ended, the atmosphere of the camp was slightly relieved but still enveloped in an indelible tension and solemnity.

The sky gradually turned pale, the icy wind on the ice field mixed with fine snowflakes, shimmering crystal-clear in the dawn glow.

David, Amy, Zelros, and several elders from the Star Pupil Race stepped out together, heading for the ice dragon nest that was destroyed but not completely collapsed.

The nest nestled beneath a colossal ice wall battered by wind and snow, towering to the clouds, crystal-clear like glacial cerulean, the cracks resembling patterns sculpted by millennium years extended windingly.

Dawn spread, its surface subtly radiating bluish glow, dreamlike.

David’s steps were slow yet steady, each step landing on the firm and slightly trembling frozen rock layers.

He looked up at the wall that almost reached the horizon, a surge of complex emotions rising within — here once was the birthplace of numerous legends, also one of the most mysteriously enigmatic ruins left by ancient civilization.

”This was once an important stronghold for polar guardians to exchange wisdom and power,” Zelros led from the front, his eyes deep and pure like the winter polar star, ”The nest interior preserves ancient totems and mural prophecies, handed down by our ancestors conveying information of future disasters and hope.”
