Wizard: Stronger through Marriage

Chapter 284: Chapter 142: Acquisition, a New Talent!

Wizard Castle.

The witches were checking the news they had just received.

The Silver Moon Holy Light Church actually planned to publicly execute the witches.

This made everyone feel an unusual sense.

“It looks like it’s aimed at me,” David spoke up.

Or rather, it should be aimed at the Tier Six Earth Mage who once saved Lingnai, Melissa, Sofia, and killed Hillman.

During this time, the Church has not stopped searching for wizards in the Northern Lands.

But now the entire Northern Lands are under his control, in this situation the Church can’t find out anything.

Thus, the Church should adopt the method of a collective public execution of witches, intending to draw out the Tier Six Earth Mage.

Of course, even if they don’t draw out the Tier Six Earth Mage, a collective public execution of witches is also a deterrent to the wizards.

“Lord Duke, what do we do?” Annie asked worriedly.

This time the Church will definitely be prepared in advance, going to rescue these witches would be like walking into a trap.

David was contemplating as well.

However, the Silver Moon Holy Light Church should be targeting the Tier Six Earth Mage from back then.

But after this period of enhancement, especially successfully obtaining the Beast’s Heart and the Heart of Earth Element, his strength has increased significantly.

Moreover, the Earth Mage isn’t his entire power.

If he really encounters any danger, he can completely use his foundation.

That is absolutely unexpected by the Silver Moon Holy Light Church, he can completely catch them off guard.

Furthermore, there are four witches involved this time.

Although he doesn’t know what abilities these witches have, if he really watches them die, he wouldn’t be able to do it.

In the end, he still decided to go and take a look.

If he can save them, he will; if he can’t, he won’t force it.

Upon hearing that Lord Duke still planned to take a look, the witches had complex expressions.

But they all knew, given Lord Duke’s temperament, he would absolutely not stand by and watch the witches die.

Therefore, none of them said anything, only started to do their best to please Lord Duke at night.

…

A few days later.

David prepared to set off for Beiguang City.

Due to the public trial of the witches, Beiguang City’s defenses were obviously strengthened.

Even though David used the Beast’s Heart to control those animals to investigate, he got no results.

Moreover, he discovered that underground, there was an array set up with Demon-Banning Stones, preventing him from moving underground.

It seems he guessed correctly, the Silver Moon Holy Light Church was targeting the disguise of the Earth Mage.

It’s unknown whether the Silver Moon Holy Light Archbishop has personally arrived this time.

If the Silver Moon Holy Light Archbishop were joined by the Saint Light Knight Order Leader, it wouldn’t be easy for him to rescue these witches.

Time passed bit by bit.

Soon came the day of the Holy Light Church’s public execution of the witches.

Perhaps they prematurely predicted wizards might come to rescue, the Holy Light Knight Order surrounded the entire square.

But even so, many civilians still gathered to watch the execution of the witches.

Finally, four witches in tattered clothes were brought up and tied to the pyre.

The curses from the surrounding people mixed together into chaos, intermittently throwing stones, wood, and spit at the witches on the stage.

“Stone those damned witches to death.”

“These witches were hiding among us; they must be trying to harm us!”

“My poor little one died of illness a few months ago, it must be these evil witches’ doing!”

“These devil’s henchmen, may the Holy Light quickly purify them, praise the great Lord.”

The witches on the stage kept their mouths shut, faces pale, eyes showing a hint of pain and despair.

They obviously had done nothing, why were they called the devil’s henchmen, why were they hated by these civilians?

The Holy Light Bishop in the scene raised the emblem, his voice not loud but spreading throughout the square: “May the Holy Light illuminate this land, expel all darkness and evil.”

“Today, we gather here to witness the victory of justice, to purify the souls that have been confused by the Dark Power, may the Lord’s glory always guide us forward.”

As the Bishop’s words fell, the emotions of the people reached a climax.

They chanted the slogans of the Holy Light Church, launching even more fierce curses and attacks at the witches on the stage.

The Holy Light Bishop was very satisfied with the attitude of these civilians.

He glanced at the morning light that was about to appear in the distance, eyes slightly narrowing, searching for the trace of wizards.

As time passed, a disappointed look appeared on his face, then he raised his scepter and began to chant an ancient Holy Light Spell.

David’s gaze sharpened, he knew that if the spell was completed, these witches would be completely purified by the Holy Light Power, turning into ashes.

And just as he was about to act, a figure dressed in black suddenly appeared on stage.

Then, a powerful space fluctuation erupted from this figure, about to take all the witches in the scene away!

Seeing this scene, David in the distance revealed a glint of surprise.

He noticed that this witch was actually a Tier Four Mage, seemingly also possessing Spatial Power.

But just as this witch appeared, the Holy Light Bishop, as if he had been prepared, suddenly unleashed a powerful Holy Light Power, directly enveloping the witch’s figure, interrupting her attempt to use the Spatial Power.

Meanwhile, those knights had rushed forward, subduing the witch, forcing her to kneel on one knee.
