The dragon's harem

How does Arad even think? How does logic work in his draconic brain, and does he even see the world in the same way everyone else does? The answer to that was an easy and clear no. Arad’s void eyes allow him to see mana, and even his regular vision stretches far beyond what the human eye could see. He was like a mantis shrimp, able to see more than 16 different colors, which mana was one of, and even detect and perceive polarized light. That was how he could see in the dark, and how he could count the breathing pores on an ant’s body from above the clouds.

The amount of information that his mind receives from the world to form reason was far greater than what someone like Merlin or Isdis could even imagine, so Isdis’s mind control that manipulates senses would quickly crash and fail.

Merlin was betting on Arad’s absurd biology to block Isdis’s mental control. If his mind works anywhere close to what she is imagining, forget mind control; even trying to argue with him would be a problem, and that before even adding the Pricolici’s mental awareness.

Isdis leaned back and stretched her legs under the hot water, thinking about what Isdis had just told her. ”But the command should be the same. If I tried to make myself look like you... he will mistake us.”

Merlin also leaned back, and unlike Eris, she was more impressed with her massive bosom floating on the water. ”To him, we don’t look like you and I see each other.” She lifted her foot out, wiggled her toes a bit, and smiled. ”I bet this beautiful, sexy leg looks to him like a chicken drumstick. Whatever you change, it would be just like me wearing different makeup.”

Isdis smiled. ”My control doesn’t just change what you see and sense, I can change what your mind perceive.” While she still looked the same, she made Merlin believe she was Arad. ”I directly affect the mind.”

Merlin noticed the change as Isdis let her notice it, and she still smiled. ”Yeah, this won’t work against Arad, even if you do your best to make sure he doesn’t notice. You still look like the Isdis I know, but I was convinced you were Arad. If Arad were in my place, that change itself wouldn’t mean much as he thinks on several layers. A human, a dragon, and a Nymph. Without counting all of the vampires and whatever creatures he has hidden inside him.”

Isdis would need to test that on Arad later, and she could only hope she would still be able to walk straight afterward. She could definitely understand why Merlin is convinced her divine magic won’t work on Arad; he is just built differently.

”Let’s say Arad can see through my magic, and I’m pretty sure any god that is stronger than me could see through it.” She gave Merlin a curious gaze. ”Who else can break through it?”

Merlin was silent for a few minutes, crossed her arms so tightly that Isdis thought her breasts were about to pop like balloons. In fact, Isdis couldn’t wrap her head around how Merlin got them that big. She should ask her about it later.

”Mother Violet is a safe bet. Maybe Haru because she is a seer, and I think Doma would be able to resist it as well if she slipped outside reality, or if she had any curses set up beforehand.” She then smiled, ”But... why are you staring at my chest like that?”

Isdis gasped, backed away a bit, and then looked away. ”Yeah... I was thinking they are pretty big, yet still firm.” That was the point: Merlin’s chest, even though it was big wasn’t all that soft, but quite dense and wouldn’t droop, not even a bit.

Merlin giggled as she stood up and flared her leg toward Isdis’s face. ”Look, see my left thigh?” Isdis could indeed see it, and it was both thick and soft. ”I got a strange growth in both of them in my late teens, and I had to cut them off. But to replace my milk glands, I got the glands from a succubus. The same one I got some bone marrow from.”

Due to her sickly, and weak high human body, Merlin suffered from several failing organs, cancer, and even deformities that started showing up the older she got. If not for her magic skills, she would’ve died long ago before even seeing her twenties. At this moment, most of her organs were already replaced.

”So, they grew this big because they came from a succubus?” Isdis poked them, and Merlin scratched her chin. ”It isn’t that simple. A succubus’s body reacts to what their partner needs, so the reason they grew this big is that Arad likes them big.” She smiled, ”It is the reason succubi are extremely attractive; they change to fit whoever they are targeting.”

Merlin then looked at her arm. ”I also have succubus bone marrow, so a huge portion of my blood is succubus blood. Did you know that even my blood changes its taste to be perfect for Arad? Even I was surprised to figure that out.”

Isdis looked down at her own body, and then back at Merlin. ”How come you look better than me while I’m a true goddess with a perfect divine body? Look, my skin is silky, smooth, pale, poreless, and hairless. My proportions are perfect, my muscles are soft but still firm enough, and I even glow faintly like a jewel.”

Merlin had the answer ready already. ”Because while your body is perfect, that perfection isn’t intended for beauty or sexual attraction. A Nymph’s body is perfected for beauty, a succubus’s body is perfected for sexiness, and your divine body is a perfect body, the simple base.”

Looking longer at Merlin’s body, Isdis quickly remembered that even though Merlin looked extremely good, she couldn’t even be compared to Lala, the succubus nun who taught healing magic in the magic university. It seems that succubi are really made for attraction, and no one else comes even close.

”Speaking of them, I heard the succubus aren’t really women.” She remembered something that Lala told them about Cubus. Merlin nodded, ”Yeah, Succubus and Incubus don’t really exist. They are all genderless fiends called Cubus. Succubus comes from Suck, and Cubus mixed, since they suck. And Incubus comes from In and Cubus, because they put it in.” She then shrugged. ”But the Succubi in the Shadow Succubus Kingdom were cursed to be forced to stay in their Succubus form. The goddess of life can bless and momentarily allow them to turn into Incubi, and that is how that Kingdom can still exist.”

”Aren’t they demons?” Isdis tried to remember what she read about them before. ”No, some texts say they came from hell.” She was right, and wrong at the same time. Cubus started in hell, as fallen Cupids; that why someone like Lala wants to turn into a Cupid. But their goddess had her heaven in the abyss, so they mainly live there now. The stable notion in the current day is that Cubus exist in both planes, but Incubi are most common in hell, and Succubi in the abyss.

”They exist in both, even here in the mortal world. They are a pretty common way to go for old people.” Merlin smiled. ”I’ve heard that dying in a succubus or an incubus is considered a good way to end your life at old age.”

Isdis immediately frowned. ”Yeah... countless nobles wanted to approve that in our kingdom; even now, some still want to make it legal.” She then sighed, ”Still some people perish in their arms, thanks to that stupid Abel.”

Abel’s brothel industry is growing rapidly, and he now offers more than just demons, devils, and strange exotic creatures; he is basically running an interspecies entertainment city where you can pretty much sleep with any intelligent creature that could be safely brought into the mortal world.

”Let him be. Thanks to him, humans are slowly warming up to demons while still fully understanding their violent and savage nature. Without him, we’ll have a really hard time getting people to accept the demons, let alone approve of Kali late on.” People need to both understand that demons are dangerous, vicious, and savage monsters, but also know that it isn’t impossible to come to an understanding with them.

Thinking about that was already getting Isdis exhausted, so she clapped her hands and summoned one of her angels to the bath. The one that appeared was a tall and beautiful woman with long and smooth brown hair. She gave Isdis a look, and then shifted her gaze to Merlin.

”Can I have a massage? My entire body is still stiff from helping Eris.” She stood, flicked her fingers, and created a large, solid bed of frozen ice and lay on it. The angel remained silent for a second, and then stripped, throwing her single piece of clothing away, which was a simple one-piece white robe.
