The dragon's harem

The priestess twitched and suddenly turned her head, “A half-dwarf, he should be east in the dark region.” But… she was looking away from Asmodeus, with whom she was speaking. In the next second, she corrected herself and looked at the Devil Queen.

Asmodeus looked at Sara, “What a place for the fellow to land in. Take her with you, I’m sure you’ll need the help of a seer.”

Sara remained silent for a while, looking at the priestess with a complicated face. But it was then that Lunara, of all the people, growled, her eyes glaring at Asmodeus. “We’re scrapping the bottom of the barrel now, aren’t we?”

Sara froze at Lunara’s remark, and Asmodeus remained as emotionless as she was before. She looked at the priestess and then at Sara. Her eyes then shifted back at Lunara, “The better seers are busy, making it easier for my army to kill demons and angels.”

Lunara threw a glance at the priestess and sighed, “For seers, all oracles, for that matter. They must throw away what they receive. An oracle that can see vision will lose their sight, and those who can hear whispers are deaf.”

The priestess finally moved again, this time she looked directly at Lunara, “Speak another word and Her Devilish Lordship might snap…and try to kill me.”

Everyone fell silent… they didn’t understand what the priestess meant; wasn’t she meaning that Asmodeus would kill Lunara?

“She is as strong as a normal human, and you call her a seer? She is both blind and deaf. If he is stuck in the darkness, then we’ll go grab him ourselves.” Lunara was sure of one thing. While oracles like this priestess can see and hear the future, that’s far away from their power.

Since the oracle is a priestess, there is no way she isn’t sharing her visions with Asmodeus all the time. The devils had used that trick many times to spy directly on the demons. It had taken the demons over a thousand years to learn that the devil seers and oracles that they imprisoned or managed to force to switch sides were still sending visions to Asmodeus, even the ones who turned into demons.

Those oracles are Asmodeus’s senses even in death. The Devilqueen’s plan was clear to Lunara: the oracle isn’t going with them to help, but to spy on them. Lunara doesn’t know why Asmodeus would want to spy on them, but nothing good ever comes from making a deal with a devil, let alone the Devilqueen of the Nine Hells.

Asmodeus sighed and lifted her hand. The seer took a step aside, and a flash of light flew past her, missing her shoulder by a hair’s breadth. The flash of light cracked at the temple’s wall and shattered into many sparks of light, all of them flew back at the seer.

The seer started walking without a care in the world as all of the flashes of light missed. When the seer stopped, all of the sparks of light faded away, She looked at Lunara with a pout. “See? I’ve told you.”

The seer started walking toward Lunara with a passive face. Each of her steps echoed in the temple, and the other priests and priestesses moved away. When the seer was just a few meters away from Lunara, she stopped.

The seer stared at Lunara, and Lunara stared back at her. Tension slowly built up, and the only two who could understand what was happening were Asmodeus and Gamond. The white drakaina could feel it, bloodlust in the air.

The seer had the power of an average human woman. Her curse is her power to see and hear the future, and the price of that curse is her eyes and ears. As she stood in front of the Severing Demon Lord, something strange was happening in this staring contest.

The seer’s face started growing paler and paler, sweat dripping from her forehead, and faint twitches could be noticed on her body. Everyone thought the seer was terrified, but only Gamond and Asmodeus understood the truth.

Soon, the seer moved, a single step toward Lunara. At that moment, and like a great spring, Lunara burst forth with a lightning-fast kick. But the seer had also taken a step forward. Lunara’s kick missed her, and in the next moment, Lunara was on the ground.

No one understood what happened, not even Lunara. But Gamond saw it. The seer took a step forward, and Lunara cleaved her head. The seer tried to move her hand, and Lunara kicked her chest open. A slash to the neck, through the eyes, crushed skill, ripped apart, over and over.

Hundreds, thousands, if not tens of thousands of deaths, the seer saw herself getting mangled by the Severing Demon Lord in those few seconds of staring, and she picked the only future that she won in.

“You can’t traverse the dark regions without a seer, the horrors that dwell there are far too horrid, stumble on one and not even her Devilish Lordship can save you.” Lunara tried to kick the seer but missed again. The seer had moved just a bit, enough to get out of the attack’s path.

The seer than looked at Gamond, “Also, sorry about that.”

Gamond laughed, “So this is what you do? Share your vision with one person, no, you allow them to grasp a fraction of it in exchange for using their senses.”

Gamond was right. While the Seer was both blind and deaf, she could see and hear through the eyes and ears of another person that isn’t too far away from her. The magic of the curse was complicated, but nothing that Gamond couldn’t see through.

For poor Lunara, the devils seem to have taken measures with the seers they sent to the battlefield. For this seer who stayed here, she doesn’t seem to be able to directly contact anyone besides the one she is using as her eyes and ears.

“Seer Haru would follow you. As she said, the horrors of the darkness aren’t something any of you could face. I might stand a good chance against them, but with all that I need to do, I don’t think wasting energy dealing with them is worth it. Maharaja can save you on her own if she wants.” Asmodeus stood and lifted her hand, this time pointing at Matilda.

“If you don’t show up, I’ll have to humiliate you in front of everyone.” And seconds later, an Archdevil emerged from Matilda’s shadow. She was the devil Merlin summoned to stall Arad before, and she had a troubled look on her face.

“How did you find me? Your Devilish Lordship.” The archdevil replied in a shaking voice, and Asmodeus finally smiled, his grin directed at Lunara.

“I can see through the eyes of all devils, I hear all and feel all.” And it was then that Sara and the Archdevil started moving toward Lunara, and they looked at her, evil grins on their faces. “I can even control them.”

Then her voice rang in Lunara’s head, “And whispers to all…”
