Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys

Chapter 857: Chapter 315: Siren (Two-in-One Large Chapter)_2

...

After Reine left, he did not head to the new residence but went toward the Sword Bearers Branch.

Before leaving, he had to finish the second task, go to the Exchange Hall and exchange for the ninth item, the last Extraordinary Battle Technique that he needed to master—the ’Rockdillo’s Guardian Staff’.

An exceptionally rare Extraordinary Battle Technique related to staffs.

The inventor of this technique, Rockdillo, was actually a High Order Wizard, but he also practiced the path of the Knight. Since he wasn’t a Metal Series Wizard, he usually carried a staff about one and a half meters long.

Therefore, he gradually explored and perfected a set of Extraordinary Battle Techniques using the staff as a weapon.

To perform this combat skill, a crucial condition must be met: possessing a sufficiently sturdy staff.

And Rockdillo’s weapon is the renowned Iron Skin Staff.

Except for the top of the staff, considering the need to connect with mysterious-side energy, which was not covered with iron skin, most of the staff body is covered with thick metal, which can be used to block and parry close attacks, making it very handy and useful.

This is also something that Reine learned about during a casual conversation with Neoro while contemplating and searching for his last secret technique over the last few days—it turned out there was this kind of Extraordinary Battle Technique with staffs.

Although it might seem a bit redundant for him.

But Reine thought, since he was also a Wizard, holding a staff could have a confusing effect on the enemy.

....

Half an hour later, Reine satisfactorily held a piece of sheepskin scroll and returned to the residence.

After asking Viery to spread the word about the afternoon’s mission to Mingster, Reine found Anna.

”Anna, you might need to prepare to go with me to Meister for the mission. After all, if you stay here, they might still come knocking...” Reine said.

”Ah? Great!” Anna clenched her fists, swung them excitedly, and continued to ask, ”When are we leaving?”

Seeing Anna’s excited expression made Reine pause, swallowing the words he was about to say.

Initially, he thought he would have to spend quite some effort in persuading Anna.

”We’ll leave in the afternoon. There’s a high chance there’ll be a fight, so you should prepare a bit.”

”Alright.” Anna nodded emphatically.

...

At dusk.

At the airship docking point in Meister Fishing Port Town.

After getting off the airship, Reine’s group made a hurried journey from Fishing Port Town to the vicinity of the cave where they once encountered the Ancient Blood Curse Naga.

And at this moment, stationed there was not only an elite squad belonging to the army but also an official member of the Rock Team.

Because of weakened strength, he was assigned here by team leader Battista as a contact person and was in charge of vigilance.

Upon seeing Reine’s group arriving, he immediately hurried forward and said anxiously, ”Lord Reine, you’ve finally arrived!”

Reine quickly glanced at the other party, seeing his fatigue, it was evident that in the twenty-four hours of the Rock Team being missing, the person hadn’t slept a wink, his spirit constantly being in a highly tense state.

”Don’t rush, tell us what you know, so we can better rescue the Rock Team.” Angus, who had executed many missions in the Military Department and was experienced, came forward and patted the other’s shoulder, comforting him.

”Thank you!” The other gave Angus a grateful look and then turned to Reine saying:

”Almost thirty hours ago, Captain Battista led Remiel and two other team members into the cave, as agreed upon, there would be a transmission every two hours, but until now, there was no transmission or news.”

”So, something must have gone wrong with them!” The other quickly briefed them.

Have they been missing for so long?

Reine thought for a while and said, ”You all stay here, I’ll go take a look.”

”Captain, let me accompany you inside.” Neoro volunteered.

Reine paused hearing this.

He didn’t expect Neoro, the Marquis’ offspring, would be the first to jump out saying he wanted to go down.

”Aren’t you afraid?” Reine asked, with a slight curiosity.

Neoro smiled calmly and said, ”Precisely because of fear, that’s why it’s necessary to go.”

”Yes, Captain, we know we are far less capable than you, but we can’t live under your wing forever.”

”In the Military Department, on missions, we often face casualties.” Angus and Viery said one after another.

”Captain, although I know you’re concerned about the danger inside, we are a team. And only through trials can we grow.” Evelyn also chimed in.

”Furthermore, I believe in the Captain, as long as the enemy isn’t a Legendary Strongman, other enemies would seem insignificant before the Captain.” Evelyn chuckled.

”Reine, I also want to go down with you.” Hearing Reine’s teammates speaking up, Anna also showed willingness.

”Alright, let’s go down together then.” Reine smiled slightly and nodded.

...

Inside the Sealing Gate.

It was a deep and vast cavern, filled along the way with various large marine creature skeletons, some towering over ten meters in height, with lengths stretching forty to fifty meters.

There were giant whale-like skeletons, as well as smaller ones, like deep-sea plesiosaurs, and certainly smaller ones such as the remnants of brutalized beasts like sharp-shelled turtles that are several meters long.

And in the deepest part of the cave, there were seven or eight already shattered purple eggshells, most of the eggshells had disappeared, and inside was already empty.
