Chapter 685: Chapter 272: Enhancement and Improvement (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_2

As his subordinate narrated, Raksul’s expression was merely solemn at first, but upon hearing that the golem guards had been destroyed, he was shocked!

“What! You’re saying Galina even used the secret weapon, golem guards, and yet, she wasn’t able to capture the enemy and was instead killed by them?” Raksul’s face looked as if he had seen a ghost.

He had thought that Galina had not taken the matter seriously enough and had been killed in an ambush due to her carelessness.

Now, it seemed that was not the case at all!

Galina had taken his request very seriously, bringing along the strong ‘Bison’ Bildas and even the secret weapon, ‘golem guards.’

And they had all been killed?

He would certainly be summoned for questioning by his superiors!

Besides, with the golem guards being exposed this time, the empire would likely pay more attention to the church’s activities. Perhaps the empire’s retaliation was already brewing. One troublesome matter after another….

Raksul found it difficult to accept this answer for a moment!

“Uh… yes, Great Bloodburner.” The Black Flame clergy bowed slightly, saying.

“At first, I too did not believe it, but after applying the Heart-Capturing Spell and truth serum on those two surviving neophytes from Wales County, we found that their stories did not change.”

“So… Great Bloodburner, as hard as it is to believe, it seems to be true.”

The reporting Black Flame clergy himself had been shaken for a long time when he first received this news.

After checking the report several times, he had immediately rushed to give his report.

Currently, Raksul’s heart was in turmoil.

Dammit, what was going on?

How could the daughter of a count have such a formidable expert guarding her?

The Imperial Royal Academy….

Right! Could it be…

Could that young expert be the legitimate son of some great noble from the Imperial City, pursuing the count’s daughter, Cleya?

That would explain everything…

A look of realization flashed across Raksul’s face!

The wealth of the Dragan Empire’s great nobility was hard for ordinary people to imagine, and it was not surprising they could nurture such strong young individuals.

But if that were the case, it would complicate matters. Even if he took action himself, there was no guarantee of dealing with the other party without possibly facing defeat.

“Karam, speaking of which, the party should have arrived in Meist by now, shouldn’t they?”

“Yes, Great Bloodburner. According to the reports, the entourage escorting the Count’s daughter, Lady Cleya, just arrived in Meist County City this afternoon.”

“Besides, I’ve quietly instructed several informants inside Earl Habbs Mansion to investigate their whereabouts.”

“Hmm, very well.”

“Find out their background and report back to me as soon as possible.” Raksul nodded.

“As you command, my lord.” The Black Flame clergy slowly retreated.

….

However, within minutes, Black Flame clergy Karam came in to report again:

“Lord, we have received a message from the Secret Snake Sect. Their envoy for the handover, Great Priest Abad of the Secret Snake Sect, has just entered Mingster Province from Nome Province and should arrive in Meist in about two days.”

The Great Priest’s position was akin to the Archbishop of the Goddess Church, responsible for church activities within a province and an absolute high-ranking member.

“Oh? The Secret Snake Sect will be here in two days, and it’s a Great Priest who is coming?” Raksul pondered thoughtfully; he seemed to have a plan forming in his mind.

“It looks like I need to visit Freeman. The Secret Snake Sect’s timing is impeccable.” Raksul appeared to have an idea, and his previously serious expression eased considerably.

….

—————–

Meist County City.

Inside Earl Habbs Mansion.

After Reine, with the assistance of Viscount Seriel, made preliminary arrangements for the Count Mansion’s defense, he headed to the indoor training room located on the first floor of the main villa.

As the residence of the highest administrative officer of Meist County—Count Habbs, the mansion naturally had a training ground, which included two indoor training rooms and what should be the city’s largest outdoor training ground.

At that moment, Shadia, in a black maid’s attire, walked over with a brown wooden box in her hands, smiling and saying:

“Lord Reine, this is a special potion ‘Fortifying Elixir’ that the lady prepared for you before she went to the secret chamber. Usually, only the Count himself consumes it in the mansion, as it significantly benefits the training of Great Knights.”

“Hmm?” Reine raised an eyebrow; he had not expected Cleya to be so thoughtful.

“Doesn’t Lady Cleya need it herself?” Reine took the box and then looked at Shadia.

“The lady is not yet a Great Knight, so she cannot consume it. Although the elixir is precious and stock in the mansion is very limited, it’s more than enough to support the training of two or three Great Knights.”

“Plus, the lady says that you are her Guardian Knight, and the stronger you are, the safer she is; therefore, please do not hesitate to use it.”

“Alright then, thank you Lady Cleya!” Reine said with a smile.

“By the way, Lord Reine, is there anything else you need help with?”

Reine looked thoughtful and after a moment, said, “There actually is one thing. Chief Maid Shadia, I might have to trouble you to send someone to my mansion to invite a young knight named Has over here.”

“Has, the knight? Very well, Lord Reine.” Shadia slowly withdrew.

…

When Reine walked into this training room on the first floor of the main villa, he realized it housed a complete assortment of various weapons—swords, hammers, axes, shields, bows, and more.
