Chapter 642: Chapter 261: Ice Messenger (Two-in-One Big Chapter)_3

Due to the wastage of a thousand Merit Points, but the task was not completed, no wonder!

“Possible,” Rein nodded.

“By the way, sir, I see that you haven’t borrowed a replica of the emperor’s weapon before, may I briefly introduce the instructions for use?”

“Possible.”

“Well, sir, the replica series of the emperor’s weapons is mainly aimed at various evil god powers and creatures or items contaminated by them. It has a potent destructive effect on these, but the damage to ordinary wizards and knights is not substantial…”

Rein nodded.

He essentially understood.

The replica of the emperor’s weapon was prepared to combat various evil god powers.

“By the way, do you have any Hardened Essence Gold ingots?” Rein thought of something—the double-handed warhammer he currently had on hand, the weight was still slightly insufficient.

“Yes, sir. How much would you like to exchange?”

“Start with fifty pounds.”

“Alright, sir, fifty pounds totals twelve hundred Merit Points.”

…

After completing the exchange, Rein quickly left the hall.

On his way back, Rein found a secluded spot and transformed the Hardened Essence Gold ingots to cover his plate mail gloves.

This made the whole set of knight plate mail look a bit odd.

The whole body except for the plate mail gloves was silver, while the gloves were a greyish-black.

…

The airship from the Imperial City to Mingster finally arrived, and Cleya and her servant quickly descended the airship.

Not far away, an elderly man dressed as a butler noticed Cleya appearing and immediately showed a look of surprise, went forward to greet her and bowing said, “Miss, good day! The carriage arranged by Earl Habbs is already here, we can head to Meister whenever you’re ready.”

Upon learning that Cleya insisted on coming back, Count Habbs had still arranged personnel and a carriage in advance in Mingster.

“Let’s find a place to stay first, and I plan to visit a… friend at the Sword Holder Minter Branch,” Cleya thought for a moment, being cautious with her choice of words for Rein.

“This… of course, Miss,” butler Yodel, although puzzled about when his mistress had friends at the Sword Bearers Branch in Mingster, as a servant, it was not his place to ask too much.

Thus, the luxurious carriage bearing the Cali bird emblem smoothly headed towards the Sword Holder Minter Branch.

Cleya then looked out the window, only to see the street bustling with people and no signs of any disturbance.

“Eh, what’s this?” Cleya glanced through the window and suddenly noticed a middle-aged man wearing a white Wizard Robe.

Among the passing pedestrians, this middle-aged man was overly conspicuous.

Those around him, even formal Knights, kept a considerable distance from him.

The middle-aged man was holding a wand that appeared to be made of crystal; meanwhile, he gave off bursts of cold air, possessing a strong aura that warned strangers to keep away.

But Cleya knew that this was not an illusion; rather, his body was genuinely emitting cold air.

The main issue was that she had seen this man once before, and that place was the Imperial City.

“Strange, ‘Ice Messenger’ Grant, why is he in Mingster? He should be at the headquarters of the Yakesen Auction House in the Imperial City, shouldn’t he?”

“Could it be that the Yakesen Auction House has some very important items that need escorting this time?” Cleya couldn’t help speculating.

Previously, at the invitation of a suitor from the Imperial Royal Academy, she had attended an auction organized by the Yakesen Auction House in the Imperial City and met ‘Ice Messenger’ Grant once.

It was said that he was a rare Ice Mage. The offensive power of ice magic was well-known, and the defensive power of some ice spells was also exceptionally strong. Therefore, Grant was a wizard with hardly any weaknesses.

It was rumored that he once escorted a treasure of the Yakesen Auction House alone, fought against a famous mercenary group disguised as a band of thieves, which included three Great Knights and twelve formal Knights.

But all were slain by Grant, thus, earning the title ‘Ice Messenger’.

Behind ‘Ice Messenger’ Grant by a few dozen meters, the portly commerce overseer Asani was hurrying over, his body fat trembling as he moved.

At the instructions of Viscount Fabien, he could only obediently comply.

But as he arrived at the mansion where Grant was staying, his subordinates informed him that the Ice Messenger had just left; thus, an anxious Asani hurried along the way.

Yet just as he arrived, he witnessed this scene.

The strikingly white-robed ‘Ice Messenger’ Grant was standing in the middle of the road ahead, and a few dozen meters in front of him was Rein.

Eh, wasn’t it said that Rein had returned to the Sword Bearers Branch?

Why had he come out again?

This indeed brought an unexpected delight to Asani.

Two minutes before.

Rein, having completed the exchange, had just stepped out of the Sword Bearers Branch.

But just a short distance out, suddenly, he stopped in his tracks.

He looked up to see the approaching middle-aged man in a white Wizard Robe.

Rein did not recognize him, but he could clearly feel that the man’s gaze was focused on him.

That is to say, he was being sought out!

In a carriage not far away, Cleya and her servant, who had also noticed the direction of ‘Ice Messenger’ Grant’s gaze, upon seeing the tall young man in silver-white knight plate mail, Cleya felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity.
