Chapter 558: Chapter 240 Not Enough Merit Points (Two in One Big Chapter)_3

With that said, it seems I can check out the exchange hall next time to see the conditions for exchanging advanced breathing techniques.

Of course, this is his secret alone.

So after listening to Kurman’s explanation, Rein just nodded his head and didn’t ask any further questions.

Seeing that Rein remained silent, Kurman thought that Rein might be feeling somewhat downhearted.

“Your improved Giant Bear Breathing Technique isn’t bad and should suffice, but there are other ways to enhance combat power aside from advanced breathing methods,” encouraged Kurman as he patted Rein’s shoulder.

“Rein, think about it from another angle. If you have enough strength, enough speed! With one hammer strike, who could resist?” Kurman made a hammer-swinging gesture with his right hand and spoke spiritedly.

Rein nodded and began to smile as well.

Indeed.

Ferocious beasts possess formidable combat power because either their strength is immense or their speed is swift!

It’s not as if ferocious beasts practice breathing techniques…

“That’s why I just mentioned that I suggest you take potions in your next phase of training.”

“For example, a potent strength potion, an auxiliary potion for a Great Knight’s training, which will gradually improve the user’s strength over the half-month after consumption. The extent of the increase varies from person to person, usually about five to ten percent.”

“Besides that, there are also potent agility potions, potent constitution potions, and so on.”

“Of course, after taking these potions, you’ll need to wait a certain period before you can take them again, and their effectiveness will decrease as your body builds up a tolerance,” Kurman reminded.

Potent strength potion?

Rein couldn’t help but think back to the potion list he saw at the Meister’s military supply shop, which included ‘strength potions’ with similar effects, but only effective for knights.

This potent strength potion is effective even for a Great Knight, making it naturally more precious.

“Thank you for the guidance, Instructor Kurman,” Rein said, bowing slightly.

At this moment, Kurman glanced around and whispered to Rein:

“By the way, right next to our Sword Bearers Branch is the Mingster Province branch of the Royal Alchemist Association.”

“If you have an acquaintance, you could directly use Gold Coins to purchase from them, so you don’t need to spend Merit Points in the exchange hall.”

Hm?

Rein raised an eyebrow and looked at Kurman in surprise.

Nice one!

Instructor, are you sure you should be saying this?

Seeming to understand Rein’s gaze, Kurman coughed once and said solemnly, “Cough… it’s a well-known secret, and there’s no harm in taking advantage of a loophole.”

“Thank you, Instructor!” Rein said sincerely.

Who would have thought that Instructor Kurman, tough as a brute bull, would be so delicately thoughtful?

Whoever said ‘well built, simple-minded’?

Clearly, it should be ‘well built, also well minded’!

Moreover, the Mingster Province branch of the Royal Alchemist Association?

That’s the gathering place for most of the potion masters in the entire Mingster Province.

Is it possible that I might find my subsequent class, Deadly Poison Master, there?

As Rein’s mind wandered, Kurman pointed at the greatsword on Rein’s back and said:

“Hmm! Right, Rein, let me remind you, if you choose the Dual-Handed Greatsword as a secondary weapon, I personally think it’s not suitable.

“It’s too heavy and will significantly reduce your movement speed.”

“Rein, what other weapons are you good at?”

This…

Rein looked at Kurman, unsure of how to respond for a moment.

After all, he’s proficient with quite a few weapons…

However, he quickly thought of a topic to divert the conversation.

Kurman had just mentioned potions but not the second point about physical conditioning training.

“By the way, Instructor Kurman, what did you mean by physical conditioning training just now?”

“Indeed, I forgot to tell you about it. Actually, your general knowledge classes starting from tomorrow will also cover this subject.

“For example, the ‘Rapid Waters Room,’ the ‘Quicksand Hall,’ the ‘Mud Swamp Room,’ and so on, are all places where you can undergo physical conditioning training. I suggest you start with the Rapid Waters Room and progress gradually.”

‘Rapid Waters Room,’ ‘Quicksand Hall,’ ‘Mud Swamp Room’?

I recognize each word, but together, why does it sound a bit confusing?

“Haha, these three places all use witchcraft to conduct strength training. The Rapid Waters Room involves improving physical constitution by resisting the impact of rushing water.”

“Specifically, Rein, you can try it yourself first. However, training in these places will consume Merit Points,” Kurman said with a smile.

Merit Points again?

At this thought, Rein suddenly felt that his 2736 Merit Points were probably not going to last very long…

…

After the afternoon classes ended, it was already late, and Rein decided to visit the exchange hall the next day.

Although in the end, Marcus meant that for this special training, Rein could decide whether or not to participate.

But Rein thought it over and felt it was necessary to attend.

For instance, today, he had learned a lot.

Returning to his room in the evening, Rein thought deeply to himself.

“Tomorrow I need to visit the exchange hall again, to check the exchange price for the potent strength potion and other potions Marcus mentioned…”

“Also, I need to learn about the cost for the Rapid Waters Room…”

Suddenly, Rein remembered something even more important.
