Chapter 532: Chapter 234 Departure (Two in One Mega Chapter)

He saw a large white seagull landing on the edge of the windowsill.

Rein immediately realized that this was Vinica’s white seagull, significantly larger than the average seagull.

Looking at the white seagull, Rein was slightly surprised, as this was the first time Vinica had contacted him since she went back.

Rein opened the window and let the white seagull perch on his forearm.

Since Rein was already a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice with sufficient spiritual power, and had learned specialized techniques taught by Vinica during their previous actions, he exchanged a glance with the white seagull and instantly received some mental fragments.

A few seconds later, Rein’s expression showed clear surprise.

He hadn’t expected to receive such a message.

Vinica told him that she should arrive in Meister County in two days and that she would join Rein to participate in the Imperial Sword Bearer’s examination, with her words brimming with youthful excitement.

“Isn’t Vinica part of the Navy ‘Wave-rider’ squad?”

“Hmm… No, that’s not right.”

Rein suddenly came to a realization.

“Vinica’s identity…”

“Her mentor, Master Annius, is an advisor to the Southern Naval Fleet, that much is clear, but the twin-tailed girl herself does not belong to the Navy ‘Wave-rider’.”

“However… With her mentor’s connection, shouldn’t it be more convenient for Vinica to serve the Imperial Navy? If she were to join a special division, shouldn’t it be the ‘Wave-riders’?” Rein murmured to himself.

Immediately after, Rein thought of another issue.

If Vinica could participate in the Imperial Sword Bearer examination, did that also mean that the Imperial Commissioned Assessment was not the only way to obtain an invitation for Sword Bearer selection?

“I received an excellent evaluation during the Imperial Commissioned Assessment, which led to the Sword Bearer examination invitation.”

“It looks like the Southern Naval Fleet of the Imperial Navy or some wizard academy with a good relationship with the Empire also likely has the authority to recommend candidates.”

“Eh! Doesn’t that mean the competition will be extremely fierce?” Rein couldn’t help but speculate.

Originally, he thought it would be just the personnel who received excellent evaluations in the last two Imperial Commissioned Assessment batches, which would limit the number of people and naturally reduce the intensity of the competition.

Now it seemed his previous thoughts were too simplistic.

No wonder Trevo mentioned failing to select for the Sword Bearer and then receiving an invitation from the Imperial Navy to join the ‘Wave-riders’ instead.

However…

Fierce competition?

Perhaps for others.

“The re-examination is what I really need to prepare for seriously.”

But the moment Rein thought of the vivacious twin-tailed girl, he couldn’t help but smile slightly.

Gathering his focus, Rein went to the training room on the first floor to continue planning his skill point strategy.

He flipped the system panel to the home page — the Attribute page.

Name: Rein Carlan

Occupation: Weapon Master (Legendary) lv6 (13/3000) / Wizard Apprentice (Transcendent) lv6 (792/3000) / Beast Tamer (Transcendent) lv5(376/2000) / Deadly Poison Master (Transcendent) lv6 (69/3000) / Armorer lv6 (211/3000)

Constitution: 28

Strength: 27

Agility: 29

Spirit: 36

Remaining attribute points: 13

Remaining Skill Points: 0

His Constitution had already reached 30 points, but after changing his class to Deadly Poison Master, he lost 2 points, and now it’s back to 28 points again.

Fortunately, Rein now had a whole 13 attribute points left, or else he would have been very upset.

However, his Spirit Attribute reached a new high. With an additional point from changing his class to Pharmacist and then two more from becoming a Deadly Poison Master, his Spirit Attribute had now reached 36 points, far surpassing his other attributes.

“Alright then!”

“A Great Knight who excels with the Two-handed Warhammer and greatsword, having Spirit as his highest attribute — I’m afraid no one would believe it if they heard it!” Rein couldn’t help but shake his head, mocking himself.

He flipped the system page to the Weapon Master (Legendary) page.

Previously, using that one talent point, he upgraded the talent ‘Steel Body’ from ‘Beginner’ to ‘Intermediate’, significantly enhancing his defensive power and raising it a level.

Now he had raised the Hammer Skill secret technique ‘Shockwave’ to an Intermediate Secret Technique, greatly improving his close combat attack capability.

His overall combat strength had clearly gone up a notch.

A Great Knight knowledgeable in Intermediate Secret Techniques, coupled with the enhancement of two Intermediate Talents, should have surpassed the standard members of the Fish-Dragon Squad, right?

Even when facing Peak Knight — Fish-Dragon Squad Captain Baron, Rein felt no fear.

Who was stronger would only be known after a test!

With his strongest fighting force further strengthened, it was now time to cover his weak points.

After some thought, Rein decided to continue strengthening his ranged attack power, specifically Blood Fury Archery.

Because just now, he seriously recalled several battles against Wizard Apprentices or Wizards.

For instance, when facing an experienced Level 3 Wizard Apprentice like Adams, if he had been able to perform ranged archery strikes at that time, the opponent would have been put in a very difficult position, even chanting spells would have been extremely hard.

Furthermore, when facing that Witchery Curses Master from the Eagle Federation, if Captain Baron hadn’t drawn most of the opponent’s attention, once the Curse Master focused on him and went all out, he, with only close combat capabilities at the time, would have been nothing but an easy target.

With the investment of 2 Skill Points, Rein’s Level 9 Blood Fury Archery immediately advanced to Level 11.

Instantly, a surge of memories about Blood Fury Archery training flooded into Rein’s mind and quickly integrated with the muscle and fascia memory throughout his body.
