The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Zevaney Kingsley pushed his coffee over to him, smiling warmly, ”I ordered Blue Mountain for you, no sugar as you prefer. Want to try it?”

Marco Lordon looked down at the coffee cup pushed in front of him, reached out to touch it, but didn’t drink.

Zevaney noticed he seemed preoccupied, her heart skipped a beat, but outwardly she remained composed and graceful, speaking to him gently, ”What kept you busy yesterday? I asked you out, but you didn’t come.”

She had asked Marco out since yesterday and even sent him several emotional messages.

She originally thought Marco’s personality would certainly make him come to see her, but instead, Marco refused her.

However, Zevaney has never been someone who gives up easily; she continued to call Marco until he answered.

Finally, Marco agreed to meet her today.

Seeing that he was still silent and not sipping his coffee, Zevaney called the waiter and ordered two servings of afternoon tea cakes.

After the waiter left, she pushed the sugar cubes towards him and tentatively asked again, ”What’s wrong, do you have nothing to say to me? We haven’t seen each other for so long, yet you act like you don’t know me. It’s really hurtful~”

Marco finally lifted his gaze from the steaming coffee and looked at her. Seeing Zevaney as beautiful and outstanding as ever, while recalling recent events, he took a deep breath and softly said, ”I’m getting married.”

The smile on Zevaney’s face gradually faded away.

Marco watched her, pressed his lips together, and continued, ”I’m getting married. Yesterday I met the other family with my parents, and both sides had a good impression. Soon, the families will discuss the wedding details.”

Zevaney struggled to suppress the disappointment in her heart, tightened her grip on the cup, and managed to force a smile, appearing poised, ”Congratulations.”

”Who is it? Do I know them?”

Marco lowered his gaze, a bit disheartened, ”You know, someone from the Upton Family.”

”Sonia Upton?” Zevaney immediately guessed the right person.

Marco placed his hand on the coffee cup, holding it, and replied softly, ”Mm.”

Zevaney said nothing more.

The Lordon Family has always followed the lead of the Kingsleys Family, and she knew that they had always tried to match her with Marco. At that time, she had more options and wanted to advance further, so she never gave the Lordon Family a clear answer, remaining ambiguous.

Unexpectedly, the moment she fell out of favor, the Lordon Family kicked her aside. They were even afraid of Marco being associated with her and immediately arranged for him a marriage partner, directly reaching the point of discussing marriage.

Zevaney had seen Marco’s soon-to-be wife. The Upton Family is the maternal family of Mrs. Davidson, and Sonia Upton is Mrs. Davidson’s grand-niece.

In terms of family background, they couldn’t compare to her.

In terms of ability, she’s not even worth comparing to her.

As for appearance... Sonia is indeed good-looking.

But Zevaney has never regarded someone like Sonia, a ’vase’, as significant. She never thought that one day, a ’vase’ she once looked down upon would take away her standby option; this situation indeed exceeded her expectations.

She grew up with Marco, and to say there was no affection at all would be a lie, and to say she liked him very much would also be untrue.

The one she loves most in her heart is herself and power and status, but hearing Marco is about to get married, Zevaney still felt a bit hurt inside: ”Do you like her?”
