Extraordinary in Reality Through Magic Games

149: Chapter 147 designs entrance exams for new students and showcases their strength.Zhang Mu, flying over London in his old car, saw that the people on the ground, small as ants, were all holding up their phones, and he estimated that the hype was likely in place.

Perhaps the authorities would later try to hide it from the public using excuses like ”testing a new aircraft.”

Therefore, Zhang Mu released 2,000 Owls in front of all the citizens of London.

He even commanded twenty of them carrying envelopes in their beaks to perform a low-altitude glide, ensuring the citizens saw them clearly.

After flying out of the London urban area, he raised his head.

At the edge of his vision were the azure sky and the fully risen morning sun.

But Zhang Mu wasn’t looking at those; he was looking beyond his sight at the satellites orbiting Blue Star in outer space.

Although he couldn’t see them, he knew very well that there were definitely satellites focused on him right now.

With a mysterious smile, Zhang Mu activated the Shadow Technique in the driver’s seat, and his figure, along with the car, slowly vanished into mid-air.

”Hmm? An official motorcade?” Looking down at a row of military vehicles on the ground, Zhang Mu’s eyes flickered as he quickly descended.

...

”He’s gone!”

The Director, sitting in the back of the armored vehicle, turned to the secretary beside him and asked in confusion, ”Gone?

What do you mean?”

”Uh, he’s just gone.” The secretary, wearing a black bulletproof vest, tilted the tablet in his hand so the screen faced the Director. ”The car, and that... that magician.

They vanished into thin air.”

The Director snatched the tablet, pulled up the stored video, and dragged the progress bar back.

The images on the screen played back in fast motion, soon reaching the point where the car was still flying.

Watching the old car and the magician in the driver’s seat fade and become transparent like pencil marks being erased, he said with a solemn expression, ”Magic?”

”I think so.” The secretary took the tablet back and reminded him in a low voice, ”Director, do you think... Hogwarts really exists?”

”I’d love to deny it and tell you it’s just a work of fiction, but all current evidence points to the opposite answer.”

”If that’s the case...” The secretary opened his mouth as if to say something but hesitated, only speaking after a long pause. ”Now that we’re certain Hogwarts isn’t a fabrication,

should we still take Ms. Rowling into custody?

Many details in her novel match reality, such as the station entrance, the flying old car, and the Owls.

It’s very likely—highly likely—that she has some close relationship with Hogwarts or has even been there.”

”So what?” The Director crossed his arms, his expression confident. ”The most terrifying thing isn’t strength; it’s the unknown.

Are we completely ignorant of Hogwarts and magicians?”

”Uh, Mr. Director, do we understand them?”

”Since it’s certain Rowling is related to Hogwarts, it means the descriptions in her novel aren’t fantasy; they are real magicians.

Can they compete with humanity’s industrial weapons with just that magic?

Conjuring a basketball-sized rock to hit someone?

Or ’Expelliarmus’?

If a magician could make a missile falling from the sky vanish, I would give everything I have for an Interview Letter.”

Perhaps feeling his leader was right, the secretary nodded and said no more.

The speeding motorcade soon arrived downstairs at Melody’s place. Fully armed Soldiers leaped out of the opened car doors and quickly surrounded the small building.

”Breach!”

At the captain’s command, four Soldiers carrying a battering ram smashed open the building door. Soldiers rushed into the small building, occupying every corner within ten seconds.

”Scene secure. The target and another person are on the rooftop terrace.”

As the voice from the earpiece faded, the Director straightened his suit, jumped out of the car, and walked all the way to the terrace with his hands behind his back.

Rowling and Melody looked on somewhat blankly as Soldiers surrounded them and aimed the black muzzles of their guns at them.

Seeing that a leader seemed to have arrived, Rowling’s face darkened. ”Sir, do you know what you are doing?”

”I’m very sorry, Ms. Rowling.” The Director smiled. ”We have an emergency and need your assistance.

For your own safety, please do not refuse.”

Rowling wasn’t stupid; on the contrary, she was very intelligent.

Recalling the crowd downstairs holding up their phones, she immediately realized that the visitor’s real target was actually her grandfather.

Returning an elegant smile, she said, ”You expect to use me to threaten my grandfather, a powerful magician?”

Grandfather?

Upon hearing about the relationship between Rowling and the magician, the Director didn’t feel worried; instead, he was exceptionally delighted.

It was like catching a big fish.

As for Rowling’s slightly threatening tone, he took a rifle from a nearby Soldier and pulled the trigger with the muzzle pointed at the sky.

The muzzle spat tongues of fire, the deafening sound of gunfire continuous, as golden shell casings clattered and bounced on the tiled floor.

After emptying the magazine, the Director handed the gun back to the Soldier. ”A magician’s body shouldn’t be any harder than a bullet.”

Facing the roar of the rifle, Rowling, who hadn’t covered her ears, remained very calm. ”She has nothing to do with this.”

Turning to look at Melody, the Director shook his head. ”Whether there’s a connection is for me to decide.”

”Rowling.” Lowering her hands from her ears, Melody whispered, ”I’ll go with you.”

”I’m sorry for involving you...”

”No, Rowling, I’m probably benefiting from your presence; I might get to see magic!” Melody wasn’t flustered at all; she was even somewhat happy.

”I hope to see it too.” The Director smiled. ”Let’s go, ladies.”

Rowling looked at him. ”I don’t want to use words to remind you of the serious consequences your actions will bring.

But you will soon get your wish.”

Rowling had full confidence in her grandfather.

From their first meeting, when her grandfather had dismantled Toby’s pistol out of thin air and called it an ”interesting little toy of the new world,” it was enough to prove that her grandfather was not unfamiliar with the modern era.

Or rather, this was the normal state of affairs.

If you thought about it, how could someone who had lived for at least several centuries and often went out for walks ignore the changes in the world?

And since such a grandfather had instructed her that there was no need to hide her relationship with him, he naturally felt confident.

Rowling and Melody linked arms and walked downstairs to the car.

The Soldiers and the Director also withdrew from the small building and followed them into the vehicles.

The car doors closed, and the motorcade sped toward a Military Base on the outskirts of London.

Standing by the terrace railing, Zhang Mu had his hands in his pockets, gazing at the motorcade as it turned right at a nearby intersection and disappeared.

”Interesting.”

He didn’t plan to save them on the spot.

Not only would the influence be insufficient, but it would also be too low-class.

Ranting and raving like a child when something happened was not the behavior a mysterious and powerful magician should have.

He summoned his panel and scanned the skills he had learned.

Soon, his gaze landed on the earth-attribute Elementary magic he had learned a month ago—Rock Fall Technique.

When he first learned it, Zhang Mu had used it once; it could condense an oval rock about fifty centimeters in diameter.

During the month spent waiting for the project to finish, he hadn’t been idle, constantly practicing the magic he had already mastered.

The current Rock Fall Technique was officially called the Pseudo-Great Rock Fall Technique.

Unsurprisingly, the skill level had still not reached its limit.

Closing the panel, Zhang Mu looked around. ”Inside the city won’t do; how many people would die if this crashed down?

Let’s go to the outskirts; near their Military Base should be quite nice.”

He had originally planned to hurry up and recruit all twenty-five new students and design the entrance exam for when they boarded the train.

But now he had to set that aside for a moment and take care of Rowling’s trouble first.

Thinking of this, Zhang Mu stopped dawdling, sat in the driver’s seat of the old car, and chased after the motorcade.
