Apocalypse: Goddess Catalog, Starting With Twin Sisters!

Chapter 180: Chapter 173: Tier Six Monster—Life-taking Devourer

”This is just too creepy!”

The women were all a little scared by the creepy atmosphere.

The residential district was also eerily clean.

It was as if something had licked it clean.

Zhao Lina naturally noticed this as well.

She immediately forgot about the shame of being hit earlier and started to panic.

”Mengde, my brother... nothing’s happened to him, right?”

Looking at Zhao Lina’s anxious gaze, Mengde sighed.

They had come all this way just to save her brother.

But now they were faced with the possibility that something had happened to him.

It was enough to make any woman nervous.

It was a wonder she hadn’t completely broken down yet.

But Mengde had indeed scanned the area with his Telekinesis Perception, and there really wasn’t a single living person left in the district.

But of course, he couldn’t say that out loud.

He knew what this woman needed most right now was companionship and comfort.

He would just have to find another way to give her hope...

Just as Mengde was about to act, a group of figures suddenly appeared within range of his Telekinesis Perception.

A smile touched his lips.

”Don’t worry. I might have found your brother...”

The moment Mengde finished speaking, Zhao Lina, who had been grief-stricken just a second ago, latched onto him as if he were her last hope.

She tightly gripped Mengde’s... arm...

”Really? Where?”

Mengde gently pinched her delicate cheek, then gave a command.

”Xiaoai, head southwest!”

The other women were confused.

But upon receiving Mengde’s order, Xiaoai immediately reversed and drove out of Yunyue District.

After driving past two streets,

they finally saw a group of Superpower Users, about forty or so people, in the middle of a sizable plaza.

They were currently running desperately toward the RV.

They looked like they were in a frantic escape!

It was as if a terrifying monster was chasing them.

Oh, wait.

Mengde took a closer look and realized there *was* a terrifying monster right behind them!

This monster was exceptionally tall!

It was nearly the height of three adult men!

Its body was twisted, deformed, and bloated, with tumor-like muscles bulging from its frame.

Its appearance was utterly hideous!

Its head resembled a savage Demon’s, its face horribly contorted. Its pupils, black as the abyss, glinted with a cruel and hungry light.

Its huge mouth was opened in a grotesque snarl, revealing terrifyingly sharp teeth.

They were tightly interlaced, as if designed for more efficient tearing and devouring of prey.

It let out a series of ear-piercing roars.

Its skin was as pale as a corpse, like a symbiotic fusion of livor mortis and a fungal carpet.

It was covered in twisted blood vessels and festering wounds, resembling a portrait of corrosion and decay.

The faint scars and bloodstains on its skin emanated an endless aura of cruelty and death.

Six more mouths grew on its chest, each one even larger than the one on its head!

Its entire body radiated a cold, dark aura, every wisp of it filled with death and fear.

Its very existence was like that of a Demon from the Hell Abyss.

It seemed to have come only to devour the entire world, bringing with it a sense of apocalyptic disaster and destruction.

At this moment, it was toying with the group of Superpower Users like a cat playing with mice.

It looked enormous, but its movements were not the least bit slow.

Every step it took made the ground tremble.

Like the beat of a marching drum, dull and oppressive.

The pressure it gave off was immense!

It stayed right on their heels, occasionally opening its massive mouth.

It was feeding voraciously, swallowing one Superpower User with each bite.

This group of Superpower Users had no ability to resist whatsoever.

The sight alone was heart-stopping!

The women were all terrified by the scene!

They froze in place.

They had never seen such a hideous monster before!

Although Mengde wasn’t as frightened as they were, he still frowned.

Because this monster was actually a Tier Six mutated zombie!

[Zombie: Life-taking Devourer]

[Awakened Superpower: Devouring the Starry Sky]

[Superpower Level: Tier Six Early Stage]

[Affinity: -100]

[System Introduction: A monster that underwent a special mutation after being infected with the zombie virus. It evolves by devouring humans and zombies and possesses the power to consume all living things!]

[The Life-taking Devourer’s power is terrifying. Host, please be careful!]

’Oh, so it evolves by devouring things.’

’No wonder it looks so strange.’

’I wonder how many Superpower Users and zombies it’s devoured and absorbed.’

’But... it’s not your fault you’re so ugly, but it’s definitely wrong for you to be wandering around out here!’

While Mengde was reading the monster’s information,

Zhao Lina, in his arms, suddenly spotted a very familiar figure in the crowd.

”Mengde, the person running at the very front is my brother, Zhao Yu!!!”

Mengde looked in the direction she was pointing and saw a young man, about seventeen or eighteen years old, among the group.

The youth was very young and looked rather green.

But as he led the people behind him, he remained calm and composed in the face of danger.

He had the air of a great general!

”My brother is eighteen this year! That’s him! I’m not mistaken!”

Zhao Lina was so anxious she was on the verge of tears.

She fell to her knees at Mengde’s feet.

Her warm breath pulsed against his lower body...

”Mengde, please, you have to save him.”

”I’m begging you!”

Hearing this, Mengde no longer had the luxury of enjoying the warm sensation.

Because he saw Zhao Lina’s brother, Zhao Yu, stop in his tracks. Despite being at the head of the fleeing group, after seeing the monster behind them feeding on their companions, he actually turned around and charged back toward it!

”You guys go on ahead!”

”I’ll hold this monster off for you!”

You had to admit, this eighteen-year-old kid was a real tiger.

If it were anyone else, they would have just focused on saving their own skin.

Who would be willing to sacrifice themselves to save others?

For a moment, Mengde found himself taking an interest in this kid.

He silently activated his Superpower and cast a ”Black Tortoise Defense” on the boy.

’Hmm... my future brother-in-law... can’t let him die...’

’This is a matter of my late-night study efficiency!’

At the same time, he said aloud,

”Xiaoai, open fire!!!”

At this distance, and with such a large monster for a target, it was the perfect opportunity for a precision strike!

And just as he was yelling to open fire, Zhao Yu had already charged head-on at the monster without a second thought.

He had to buy time for his brothers behind him to escape!

”Monster! As long as I, Zhao Yu, am here today,”

”I will never let you harm my brothers again!”

As Zhao Yu spoke, he activated his Gold Superpower and launched an attack at the monster.

He was trying to obstruct it.

But everything he was doing was destined to be in vain!

How could a mere Tier Five Superpower User be a match for a Tier Six mutated monster?

Forget obstructing it; to this thick-skinned Tier Six Monster with a devouring attribute, his attack was like a mere tickle!

It was completely useless.

In fact, when the attack hit the monster, it was instantly devoured!

Worse, his attack had now drawn the monster’s full attention.

The Tier Six ”Life-taking Devourer” opened its massive mouth and lunged toward him.

A nauseating stench poured out from its huge mouth.

It looked as if it was about to swallow him whole.

Under this assault, Zhao Yu was left with almost no strength to resist.

The aura of death instantly enveloped him!

His face filled with despair!

’The brothers behind me have already fled far away.’

’I should be content with that.’

’My only regret is not being able to see my sister one last time before I die.’

’Sister, Xiaoyu will never see you again!’

’I wonder how Sister is doing?’

’Is she still alive?’

Inside the RV, Zhao Lina, seeing this, let out a desperate cry.

”Xiaoyu!”

Along with her cry, the RV’s cannon finally fired...
