Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 1311: Chapter 1311: He Was Injured to Protect Her

”Is it related to me?” Han Yan asked persistently.

”Silly child, how could it be related to you? Don’t take everything upon yourself,” Lu Nianxin said, shifting her gaze away and speaking casually.

Seeing her like this, Han Yan was even more convinced that she was injured because she was trying to protect her, which made her feel even guiltier.

But since Lu Nianxin didn’t want to talk about it, it was clear she didn’t want Han Yan to feel guilty, nor did she want her to seek out the person and get into trouble. Hence, Han Yan stopped asking further. After all, although she was outstanding among the younger generation, she was still far from matching those hundred-year-old monsters in strength. Asking too persistently would only make Grandma unnecessarily worried.

”Grandma, I know a renowned doctor from Anyun who came with me to Shangyue. Shall I ask him to have a look?” Han Yan suggested, referring to Doctor Sun. Though Doctor Sun had learned the entire ancestral Vein-Splitting Hand technique, it was thanks to her guidance; that was merely because she benefited from the Nine Heavens Star Falling Sword technique. When it came to medicine, the family tradition of Doctor Sun’s expertise was far superior to hers.

”Let him come and take a look then.” Lu Nianxin was actually not hopeful about a cure, but seeing Han Yan’s persistence, she didn’t want to dampen her filial efforts and agreed.

”I’ll go bring him over,” Yue Fanchen volunteered. He had earlier arranged for Doctor Sun and Huayue’s group to stay at the hostel.

Before long, Doctor Sun arrived at the palace.

After a brief greeting, Doctor Sun checked Lu Nianxin’s pulse.

”Hmm, strange, really strange.” Gradually, Doctor Sun furrowed his brows, muttering to himself in confusion.

Hearing his words, Yue Fanyi and Yue Fanchen exchanged disappointed looks. The famous doctors they had invited previously showed similar reactions and left in bewilderment. This time wouldn’t be any different, it seemed.

”Doctor Sun, if it’s unmanageable, don’t force it,” Lu Nianxin said politely.

Originally, she didn’t have much hope and was only making an attempt for the sake of Han Yan’s wishes. Seeing Doctor Sun’s bewildered face, she didn’t want to waste any more energy.

”Doctor Sun, did you discover something?” Han Yan, however, did not give up easily.

Though Doctor Sun’s reputation was prominent in Anyun City, outside Anyun, not many knew of him, but Han Yan had come to know him well enough to understand that his ancestral medical proficiency was extraordinary, and the medical notes handed down through generations were comprehensive, unmatched by typical famous doctors.

”Lady Mu, if I’m not mistaken, the Empress Dowager’s injury was actually already healed,” Doctor Sun pulled back his hand, ponderingly stated.

”Healed? How is that possible? I just checked Grandma myself, and her Gang Qi fluctuates erratically, sometimes strong, sometimes weak, sometimes intermittent. How could the injury be healed?” Han Yan looked at Doctor Sun, puzzled.

If she hadn’t already known about his expertise and integrity, Han Yan might have suspected him of pretending mystique like other worldly society god-men.

”The fluctuation of Gang Qi in the Empress Dowager’s body may not necessarily be due to injury. If she was under some strange technique or forbidden technique, it could also manifest as such symptoms,” Doctor Sun explained.

”Strange technique or forbidden technique!” Han Yan’s heart skipped a beat; she hadn’t thought of this.

In the past, she might have scoffed at Doctor Sun’s words, as to an ordinary sword cultivator, strange techniques and forbidden techniques were like fairy tales, mostly exaggerated and incredible. But after learning of the existence of the Holy Court and the temple, Han Yan understood that many so-called strange techniques and forbidden techniques, while exaggerated, weren’t entirely unfounded.
