Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Pang Dezong took out an alchemy artifact shaped like a compass and, with a great effort, cast several Hand Formations. The needle on the compass began to spin.

Unlike ordinary compasses, this was known as the Thousand Knowledge Divine Needle, also personally refined by his Master. It was specifically designed for treasure seeking and finding people.

After spinning a few rounds, the needle pointed in a specific direction.

It was evident that utilizing the Thousand Knowledge Divine Needle greatly taxed one’s mental state. After casting dozens of Hand Formations, Pang Dezong, who was already exhausted, looked completely drained, his body swaying as if about to collapse. This was precisely why he hadn’t helped Zhao Sinin search for people in the past few days; the Divine Needle was too draining on his mental energy, and he feared it might interfere with more important matters.

”We should head that way, let’s go look,” Pang Dezong said, fighting the urge to collapse.

Zhao Sinin’s spirit was revitalized, and he rushed forward, dragging his lead-filled legs.

If Mu Hanyan and the others were to witness this scene, they would be utterly shocked because the direction he was running towards was the final resting place of Fourth Miss Zhao and the others.

However, what’s strange is that the once-raised burial mound had now completely flattened out, and there were some scattered rocks piled on top. It looked exactly like the surrounding scenery, no wonder Zhao Sinin had previously dug around east and west and failed to locate this place.

”Wait,” but just as Zhao Sinin was about to reach the grave of Fourth Miss Zhao and the others, Pang Dezong spoke up again.

The Thousand Knowledge Divine Needle on the compass had started turning again, pointing in another direction.

Zhao Sinin hurriedly stopped and, without waiting for instructions, ran toward the new direction.

”Wait, the direction has changed again.” Zhao Sinin barely managed to climb down the cliff, and before he had the chance to catch his breath, Pang Dezong called out once more.

Turning around, he saw the Divine Needle in Pang Dezong’s hand spinning rapidly.

Zhao Sinin bit his lip and dashed off in that new direction.

”Wait, this is the wrong direction.”

...

The Divine Needle in Pang Dezong’s hand would stop and spin intermittently, while Zhao Sinin, following its guidance, ran around like a headless fly, panting heavily as if he were a worn-out dog.

If Mu Hanyan and the others were to see this with their own eyes, they would probably be so astonished they wouldn’t be able to speak.

In Zhao Sinin’s chaotic scramble, he had passed over the graves of Fourth Miss Zhao and the others several times, yet the Divine Needle never ceased, and he continued to find nothing.

”Uncle Master, is this really effective? I really don’t have the strength anymore.” Although Zhao Sinin’s love for Fourth Miss Zhao ran deep, love couldn’t sustain him like food, and he couldn’t run any further. He sat down on the ground to catch his breath and said.

”This is a treasure personally refined by your Grandmaster. In all these years, it has never failed in treasure seeking or finding people, not even once. How could it not be effective?” Panting heavily and unable to straighten up, Pang Dezong followed closely behind, pressing his hands against his knees. Hearing Zhao Sinin dare to doubt the Divine Needle refined by his Master, he spoke irritably.

”But why does it keep spinning without finding anything?” Zhao Sinin said, puzzled.

”Perhaps, she hasn’t encountered any trouble at all. Once the Barrier was lifted, she may have escaped before we could find her, and now she is on her way back to Heishi City along the small path,” Pang Dezong pondered and then said.

Brightened by his words, Zhao Sinin considered that the path back to Heishi City was winding and intricate. If Fourth Miss Zhao was indeed on her way back via that path, it certainly wouldn’t be in a straight line, which could explain the erratic spinning of the Divine Needle. It was the most reasonable explanation.
